Wanted to love this place. Went fo a very special anniversary dinner however the service was very slow, and several items we ordered were left off/confused ext. Waiter was polite and said there was a large party downstairs however the rest of the restaurant was fairly empty and we felt that the staff should have been able to handle it. Some of the food was good (octopus was delish actually) but our main dishes were just mediocre. Overall, not the experience we wanted that night unfortunately. read more

Ordered take out so I don't consider this a true true review but based off of the take out this is probably the best Greek food in westchester now. Westchester Greek is garbage especially when it's compared to Astoria. We ordered a wide variety of things and everything was excellent. I 100% recommend you try this place, but some constructive criticism: they completely rush you through the meal. The pacing is really wrong. They need to slow things down a bit. We'd barely finished the apps, when the food came and altogether, it all came way too fast. It's a nice restaurant, not a fast food place. In addition, the service is erratic. With my son getting married, we chose Greca in White Plains as the venue for the pre-event dinner for out of town guests. They have a function area on the mezzanine level that accommodates up to 65 guests, which was just over our number of attendees. Overall the evening turned out Great ... hence the 5-star rating. Mea the manager was pleasant to deal with and the menu (appetizers, entrees and wine/cocktails) and service (led by Rolando) were superb. Our guests had nothing but compliments. Minor complaints were the lack of an area to store guests' coats and the long narrow design of the space which was less than optimal for conversation during the cocktail hour. read more

Amazing service from our knowledgeable and helpful waiter, Mauricio, who assisted us in ordering one of the best meals that we have had in a long time. The food was delicious and the portions generous. The Mediterranean Grille for two was fantastic, enough for our party of three. We finally made it over on New Year's Eve. The service was great but the food was of mixed quality: some good, some not so good. They ran out of dessert by 7 pm. What? on New Year's Eve? Located across the street from the Opus hotel, this new restaurant is a bright , window enclosed space. The staff is extremely warm and welcoming. Absolutely horrendous! Our reservation was for 7:15 PM. They sat us upstairs, which is not ideal. We ordered food and drinks and nothing arrived until a bit before 9 PM. Once arrived, the food was cold and one of the dishes that was supposed to be hot melted cheese was actually ice cold and not cooked. There are plenty of great places for Greek and Mediterranean food in Westchester, but this is clearly not one of them. A must miss! read more

We went to Greca restaurant last Wednesday. It was advertised by the City of White Plains via email with a $34.00 special summer pre fixe menu . We like Greek food but we were not impressed with this restaurant. To start , we ordered the dolmadites which were very good but the split peas appetizer was tasteless. For entrée we ordered The Chicken Santorini which was bland and had too much sauce . Hilopites (pasta with cauliflower) and Imaldi (onion stuffed eggplant) were good but nothing special. We also ordered the lamb risotto and this dish was very tasty . The desserts of baklava and yogurt with fruits were very good and fresh. The drinks were good, restaurant very pretty, complementary parking at Opus and the service excellent. read more

The (seven) reviews of this place definitely influenced my decision to pick this restaurant for my birthday dinner last night. After all, Mediterraneo, the prior restaurant in this location was a darn good restaurant. I love this space with its glass walls around you. The street level dining room feels modern and airy but not overly exposed to the street. That's all thanks to the architects of the past. As for the meal, the service was very good and we never felt like we were waiting at all. In fact we were in and out in about an 75 minutes I'm guessing? We didnt feel in the least bit rushed and while it was about 70% full of customers we had three or four people serving/clearing/filling waters. But the food itself was not terrific as I had hoped. I tend to judge a Greek restaurant by their pita. It should be warm and obviously taste as close to fresh baked as possible. Theirs was served warm but I think they fried it to get it to be hot and it wasnt great. I think baking/open flame it is the ideal way to get it closer to its original state which was not done here. We decided to order four appetizers in lieu of a main course. Quite honestly if I want fish I go to Eastchester Fish Gourmet or Dubrovnik Restaurant (New Rochelle) as these are excellent. Our 3 dips on a platter were pretty good. The hummus was mighty garlic-y. The tzatziki was a tad pasty thick but decent, and the fava beans were pretty good. Then the Gigantes came and were good though they were served in a bowl of tomato sauce that made it seem like a soup. Nothing wrong with that I guess. Then the Brussel Sprouts came out ("roasted brussel sprouts with gorgonzola and balsamic reduction") and I guess I thought they were going to be grilled well or cooked in a way where the balsamic was punched up and the outer leaves would have that grilled/brown balsamic look. Not so. These appear to have been fried in a pan but not to the extent were they were soft and browned as Ive enjoyed elsewhere. The spanakopita was presented as three fairly flat triangular puffs with a modest amount of spinach entombed within. Wife was not at all happy about these as they appear to have been fried too- and they were bread-y; far more fillo dough than anything else. The "REVITHIA MEZE" were not fritters at all but were round balls that sort of looked like falafel but were far more dense and had an unappealing center that was like a thick whipped potato. They too seemed to have been fried and didnt delight the palette. And so unfortunately I can only shrug and say our experience was...good but nothing more. I also do feel that the dining room could benefit from some earthy touches - like copper urns with flowers or something of this nature. Maybe some plants or potted trees? It just seemed somewhat austere with exposed wooden tables and wooden floors. Just my two cents on that. read more

Enter as strangers, leave as friends. We ate there last night and that is not just a sign on the wall. The food was all delicious, the octopus was exceptional, as was all the food. What makes this place extraordinary is really the staff. They all went out of their way to make us feel like guest in their home. Jean Paul, was our waiter was patient and knew how to walk us thru the menu. Being there for the first time we could have ordered everything. He made sure we ordered the right things. His recommendation on the octopus was spot on. We met Rachel when she brought over a calamari, that we didn't order, I think it was for another table. She said enjoy it and it was delicious. Later in the evening we met Dino and I felt like I was eating in his house. I had brunch on April 24 and I was very impressed with the interior design and the spaciousness of the dining room. I ordered the tarama toast with poached eggs--sort of a Greek take on eggs benedict. The dish was delicious, as was the side salad that accompanied the order. We also shared the frutalia, a Greek fritatta with cheese, eggs and potatoes that was also delicious. i came in the other night with a few girlfriends, sat at the bar and had the most thrilling time with our bartender Veronica. she effortlessly guided us through the menu while also offering great cocktail/wine pairings to enhance our experience. the food is amazing (i had the OCHTAPODI paired with the speak to me of god cocktail, then the HILOPITES paired with the greca negroni then a perfect glass of white wine). i would have been stuck if it weren't for Veronica's expert knowledge and high energy. it really made our night special. keep her, promote her, she's amazing!! read more
