I am so sad... we came here two years ago , actually twice in one week . Did the owner or chef change... ? it is not the same caliber. Service was great.., unlike most restaurants they have plenty of staff. We were seated right away... in fact only half of the restaurant was full... it used to be packed . My husband had the prime rib, was his favorite , he only ate half saying it didn't taste right. I had the steak Diane, good , just a mushroom gravy , not steak Diane, , not worth the $48 price. You can't go wrong with the GB steak sandwich!! Love the ambiance!! So many delicious drink options, from high end whisky to a cold beer.

I really want to give more stars but simply cannot. We went in for dinner and were starving, it wasn't too busy. Ordered the calamari, good portion but took forever. Drinks took forever. Had to ask for bread, 2 pieces in the basket. Then we ordered the 30oz tomahawk steak dinner for two with mashed potatoes and salad. It took well over 30 minutes to get our dinner. The server brought the steak and mashed potatoes but completely forgot our salads. Mashed potatoes were borderline cold. THEN the 30oz steak was NOT 30oz unless they also weighed the giant bone. We received maybe 12oz of meat to share. The steak was barely big enough for one person and not one who eats big portions. Our tab was $164 for a dinner for two, 4 drinks and an appetizer. We will go elsewhere next time. Super disappointed. read more

This was our first visit here and really wanted to like it, however frankly it was a disaster. We checked the online menu before we went and there seemed to be many options at reasonable prices. When we arrived there were two tables that each had 2 people yet there literally was not a single clean table to sit at. The sign said to seat yourself so we found the least dirty table. After a wait with no one around we took a menu from the counter. There were just a few items on the menu and the prices were DOUBLE the prices online but we were there so we ordered a burger and a tri-tip sandwich. To say the service was slow was an understatement and the restaurant was practically empty! When my husband asked what drinks were available he was told the standard but was not told there was a bar as he had hoped to have a drink with his meal. The food arrived and it was less than stellar. My tri-tip sandwich was ok but my husband's burger patty looked like a McDonald's cheeseburger patty and he said it tasted like maybe the meat was bad. About 15 minutes after we got there a large party came in, were seated at a table that was cleared for them by a different server, brought different large menus, served beers, and had their food arrive about the same time we got ours. Our server never checked on us, offered to refill our drinks, nothing. Finally, 10 minutes after having finished our meal we flagged down a young girl (who was finally clearing tables) to ask for our check. She eventually came and we were prepared with our card. We had 2 sandwiches and an iced tea and it was $50 without a tip. After a long wait, we went to the register to wait. She asked how it was and we said not so good to which she replied, oh well next time you come in try the steak sandwich. There will not be a next time. Very disappointing. read more

From drinks to food and service I had no complaints! The server - Michelle- was friendly helpful and made you feel you're the only one she is taking care of. The other servers where all helpful and happy to do anything to make your experience good. The food was wonderful had never had Parmesan Artichoke Chicken before and loved it. Calamari and sauce where perfect. My husband s Bourbon Beef Tips he loved. The restaurant is welcoming and some unique design details to make you feel right at home! 3 years ago this was a 5 star restaurant. We used to go weekly. And the wait staff were awesome, fast, happy, and obviously liked their jobs. Over the years the quality of food and service has declined. We usually order the Cowboy Rib Eye or the Tomahawk. We keep returning occasionally in hopes that the quality returns but alas. We went 2 weeks ago and the sweet potato fries appeared to be the frozen / nuked type and had no flavor. The baked potato had a Cambell's soup nacho cheese abomination topper with a skin on it representing its significant time to congeal before it was served to me - I had to send it back to the kitchen. The tomahawk was ok, but should have been glorious. And half the time, over the few times we went this last year, I had abdominal distress later that night... Id really love to see it return to its former glory. Willing to pay for good food and service. read more

I have been coming here since I was a kid. Through all of the years (40), their food has remained consistent and so has their service. We recently went for our anniversary because we were in town and the Prime Rib is still the best (so is the bread). The artichoke hearts were something we hadn't tried (appetizer) and were incredible--a huge portion and even great the next day! We will be back time after time! read more

Wife, adult son and I thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. I took selfies with the whiskey themed artifacts on site. The joint was jumpin' on a Friday night, but service was attentive and efficient considering the crowd. Steaks were excellent, as were all the sides. I seldom find a steak in a restaurant better than ones that come off my bbq, but I have to say that the Porterhouse I shared last night at this place with my little brother (who's only 60) was in fact better than mine. This place has gone WAY down hill. We dined here tonight and everything that I ordered was way over salted. I literally couldn't even stomach it. I had the Parmesan chicken artichoke with risotto... The kids Mac and cheese looked like it was cooked yesterday. All soggy and smashed and just looked terrible. My husband ordered mashed potatoes and there were two hairs in them . We asked for a new side of mashed potatoes (we get it sometimes things happen) and when he got the replacement - there was ANOTHER HAIR IN THE MASHED POTATOES. Like seriously, at least check the food before you bring it out. Unbelievable. They didn't offer any sort of discount or free dessert or anything... I will never ever be dining here again. The food is outstanding, however the service has so much to be even close to acceptable. We ordered 2 appetizers and our meal had a salad. The salad came, then before we could finish the appetizers arrived and we had barely taken a bite when our meal arrived. The appetizers did not get eaten because we had our meal to eat. Then my husband ordered a second beer and i a refill on my soda and the waiter was definitely put out by the extra work. So I guess the food is good enough to have poor service but next visit we will go elsewhere for sure. To say simply our waitress was kind and seemingly doing her best however the food was not impressive especially for the price and the long wait (over an hour) to receive our food. Definitely would NOT recommend the Brewsky bread- save your $18. I also found an unfortunate that a nearby table was clearly not pleased with their food either- one guest was very vocal about it. Being a steakhouse the prices are high if ordering steaks, but still reasonable for what you get. Cowboy ribeye, filet mignon, brewski bread, blue cheese salad all excellent. I used to work here before it came the Whiskey Kitchen, and I know we took a lot of pride in service and food. We came to town to take my grandfather to dinner for his 85th birthday (as we an hour in a half away). I have to save I am highly disappointed in the service and food. We all ordered steaks, mine and my husbands came out very charbroiled and burnt (tasted burnt), absolutely no flavor to the steaks. Also, I got asparagus with mine and it was burnt, I honestly as being a server previously for 8 plus years would never have served the asparagus the way it looked. The server tried to tell me it was chargrilled, well there were no grill marks and if brunt is your definition of chargrilled then they need to learn what that is. I didn't even get to eat it. Server checked back on us once. We waited over 20 minutes to pay our bill, she was annoyed with us that we had paid cash and it was very obvious. I am so disappointed in the food and service we received, especially considering the special occasion. read more

We took our friends out for a nice evening. This was my boyfriends second trip to this restaurant. We had drinks they were great, the bartender superb, the waitress amazing, but ambiance great, but the food no so. The rice was too salty and under done. Sad to say I had to call and complain to the manager who I hope talked to the cook. Maybe a third go round? Had to ask for the table to be wiped down as it was not clean, another table was so wobbly we had to move as it was seat yourself service. Ordered drinks and water, drinks came with no water had to find waitress and ask for the water. Ordered artichoke appetizer, it was frozen in the middle. Had to find the waitress and she felt it and confirmed it was still frozen. I am pretty sure we got the same plate, just overcooked at this point. Didn't even get an apology. Ordered our burger meals and sides. By the time was got the appetizer for the second time, it was right before we got our meals. Bbq burger and the sweet potato fries were good. Asked to add crispy bacon, it was not crispy so I just took it off my burger to eat. Never was checked on and anything we needed we had to get up and ask for it. Asked for to-go containers and then had to ask for lids to the sauce containers as they were not initially provided. The menu online isn't even close the menu you get to order from. My husband and I were here with my friends on Wednesday night. We were sat promptly and greeted quickly. Our server was a young blonde girl with glasses (her name was either Michelle or Melissa), she was truly excellent and suggested a prickly pear margarita which was great! We did want to try the steelhead cakes but they were out unfortunately. Instead we tried the Brewskie bread per our server's recommendation and it was delicious. Super cute l restaurant hidden in red bluff- who would have known. I was super excited to find this place and not from the area so I have only eaten here once so I can only rate the meal I had which was the meatloaf with whiskey glaze and mashed potato's. When I heard whiskey glaze, I immediately thought about Friday's- which I live there glaze! But the meatloaf and glaze fell extremely short, almost no taste. And the mashed potato's were not very good either. I did have a piece of the cheesecake for dessert which they told me was the Cheesecake Factory which was the favorite part of the meal!
