When I said it was just me, I was asked, "Do you want to sit at the bar or in the dining area?" I chose the dining area and was told I would be seated with other families. No smile, no warmth, and not even a simple confirmation that this was okay--it just felt unnecessarily dismissive with a snooty attitude. Is being unwelcoming a requirement when hiring hostesses, or is it a generational thing? I wonder when this will finally be addressed and improved. I may die of a heart attack if I ever actually see it happen! Thankfully, the food and table service were much better. The chicken-fried chicken with mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli was hot and delicious, and my server was very friendly. That being said, we loved all the extra perks that came with dining at such an establishment--like the complimentary plastic cups, the gift shop filled with quirky novelty items, and the dozens of photo-ops sprinkled throughout the property. We especially enjoyed taking selfies in the big chair, a giant-sized lawn chair located in the back patio. While traditional options like the Hickory Burger and the Green Chili Cheese Burger are stellar, the undisputed heavyweight titleholder here is the legendary Burger from Hell. I had to try it, my wife opted for the Chicken Fried Steak. Many approach the "Hell Burger" with great trepidation, expecting it to be more of a gimmick built strictly on painful, mouth-numbing heat.
