The reviewers don't lie about this wonderful little Burmese cuisine place. Friends have told us about it, and the reviews tell a story too. The location in Loomis is a little off the beaten path (you think you are leaving town), and in a super small strip mall. Step inside and you find a cute little family owned restaurant that will make you wonder "where did I just get transported to?"... A few tables in the front room and a second dining area to the right. It is important to note that you MUST be patient! There is only the owner running the front of house here. She is doing everything. Super friendly, and being as quick as she can to get tables cleared, people seated, orders taken and served. She does all of this with the most wonderful smile and personality. You will immediately fall in love with her. Many of the diners on this particular night already knew her and appeared to have long standing relationships with the family. We came in on a Saturday evening around 5:15pm and the floor was packed. It remained that way until around 6:30pm. I would suggest coming in later in the evening so the 'regulars' can get in and out. Ok, so now on to the food and why the Green Elephant is such a standout. Everything is super fresh, and flavorful with great depth in the sauces. We started with the tea leaf salad, and pork lumpia. Then Panang chicken and spicy garlic pepper pork and an order of rice. We love spicy food, and requested such (she has a spice scale of 1-10). Our mains were a level 7 and that was sufficient to give us good heat without compromising the flavors. She will also bring you a small dish of chili pepper oil if you want even more heat. By the time we were finished, the floor had cleared, so we know now to arrive a little later. But, return we will !!!

A hidden gem in Loomis that truly feels like home. This family-owned Thai restaurant is open only for dinner, and you can feel the love in every detail. The owner cooks everything himself, while his wife warmly takes orders -- a beautiful, old-school partnership that instantly makes you feel welcome. The interiors are cozy and thoughtfully done, creating a calm, inviting atmosphere. The food is exquisite, clearly made with care and experience -- flavors that stay with you long after the meal. Yes, there can be long wait times, but it's absolutely worth it. This is not fast food; it's food made with heart. A place that reminds you why small, family-run restaurants are so special Highly recommended if you're in Loomis and don't mind slowing down for something truly memorable.

The green elephant is a hidden gem located in Loomis a place where I would never expect to have some of the best Asian food of my life, the service is handled by one person and one person alone a sweet Burmese lady that works her butt off taking care of the hosting serving and bussing of each and every shift. The ambiance is amazing as she takes care of each and every guest with the sweetest and kindest demeanor. She gives each table care and always has the best recommendations, and that's how I got to try the best food. Thank you Green Elephant for being such a gem

Overall we had a very good experience. The food was flavorful and well made... however the texture of the chicken was a little odd in our opinion. I am not sure how to describe it other than perhaps a little gummy? But everything else was amazing and delicious. The lady who helped us was nice and answered all our questions. The decorations were nice and had a warm feel. The bathroom was clean, but the paper towel dispenser seemed broken. All in all, I recommend this place to others.

Words cannot describe how happy we are to finally have tried this place. There are 3 restaurants in this complex and all are insanely good, but this is our new favorite! Great service from our waitress, and they were able to make a vegan Thai tea with coconut milk which I love. We had the mussuman curry beef, pad Thai noodles, and butter chicken and all were spectacular. I highly recommend coming here!

Food has to be good!" And when I try new places, I tend to order authentic menu items and go from there hopefully on my next visit. Unfortunately, I got back to my office, and regrettably will not return to Thai Village House. Ordered the Thai papaya salad going on photos that are obviously from the owner and being on the receiving end, it is not what you receive (see photo). And for the price, is a definite, NEVER AGAIN. $12.95 for a small portion plus I added extra vegetables for $1.00 and I couldn't seem to place where the extra veggies were placed because it definitely was not in the to-go container. I also requested, as "special instructions" for "extra sour and extra sweet" and I tell you, not even the base flavors were there which should normally consist of: fish sauce, lime, sugar, tamarind sauce all of which were not present. Being Thai myself, I am dissatisfied. Not to mention the Thai tea for $5.00 was mostly cream flavored rather than Thai flavored. To the owner: I'm hoping you truly do go to a Thai restaurant and order papaya salad so you can at least attempt to have the base flavors in future orders. Aside from my negative review, cute set up and creative way to use the extra front yard space on your property! Good luck!

Our mix this visit - MTK money bags, pad thai with shrimp (no spice), pineapple fried rice with shrimp (no spice), panang curry with chicken (spice level 3 - bit much for us), thai iced tea (1 dine in free refill! Not for takeout though), sticky rice, and beef salad (least favorite, not worth the price tag IMO). Excellent Thai food and absolutely worth a visit for foodie lovers locally!
