Wednesday was steak night. We had the Filet and NY Strip. Both were great. Bang Bang Shrimp app was fresh and delicious.

Super loud, overpriced menu and waitress was clearly beginning her new career the night we decided to dine. I've said it once and will say it again. If you're going to command the prices, TRAIN your staff ! If they've never worked with or around food before, well that may just mean they need ... MORE training than the usual ...! 30 minutes we waited for dessert only to be told they were out ! I promise I'm not exaggerating. I get we're all short staffed these days .. but no excuse for not even knowing the basics. read more

I was highly recommended to go to this restaurant for their amazing breakfast. We didn't necessarily want to drive 25 miles, but I am a sucker for a good breakfast so we decided to take the drive. The restaurant was very busy , which is usually a good sign. The vibe and decor was great. Unfortunately our breakfast took about 45 minutes and it was obvious the potatoes sat for quite some time, they were cold. The eggs Benedict were okay, I asked the hostess to check on our order because it appeared that it had been taken so incredibly long for such a simple order . She proceeded to tell me that the big parties take priority and small tables on Sundays could wait up to an hour. If I knew that, I certainly would've never taken a 30 minute drive for mediocre breakfast. Our waitress was MIA must of the time , maybe we came on an off day because they have a decent reputation. Went here our first night for dinner on a guys fishing trip. Jackie our server was friendly and helpful showing two rookies how its done here. Conch fritters to start with a local beer and a cocktail. Jackie recommended the mutton snapper special of the day and it was outstanding. Fish was prepared picatta style with onion crust with a side of jasmine rice and veggies. Great location with a bar and tables spread out so plenty of relaxing vibes. Also a sports bar separate next door. Jackie recommended her dessert that she made that day so we got the PB cheesecake and also a key lime pie to share - killer desserts. Wow! Came here for brunch. Best chicken & waffles I've ever had. It's not spicy but has an amazing light crispy crust which supported my buffalo sauce and the syrup. Waffle was warm and also the perfect texture for the dish. My husband had the pastrami sandwich which was also fantastic!! Bread was a swirl rye and crispy with the tender pastrami - delicious!! Our server Stephanie was fantastic: knowledgeable and responsive! Staff was also there to support. They came to us before we needed them which is a rare display of excellence! I have been here several times over the years and have always had a good experience. The Caribbean version of American staples doesn't always translate well for me personally , like the biscuits and gravy, however coming from the south, I'm super critical of southern cuisine. That said, you can still feel the creativity and care for the dishes and experience. But love the banana bread, corn beef hash, shrimp and grits and the drinks. We dined tonight with our family, a party of 5. We started out at the bar, and our bartender was lovely. We got seated and immediately felt friction from the waitress. She took our order and she never came back to ask how our meal was or if we needed another drink. The worst service I've ever had in the Keys. I have never yelped for bad service in my entire life, that is how bad it was. The manager was very nice and respectful and the food was amazing. read more

We sat in the bar area because we couldn't figure out how to get to the regular restaurant. We walked through a store and they directed us to the bar area so that's where we sat. The bartender was awesome and very friendly! The food wasn't great. Deviled eggs seemed pre made and weren't that tasty. The wings were 50 cents and I understand why. They were the really large chicken wings and just not very good. I would go back for drink specials but not for the food. Bud lights were $2 and captain Morgan drinks were $3. We stopped at the Green Turtle Inn on our way back from Key West. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and shown to our seats in a spacious, high-ceiling dining room with a large bar in the middle. We were there at lunch time and were disappointed to find that the breakfast/lunch menu is mostly breakfast. Some of the breakfast items sounded yummy but we wanted lunch. I settled on the wedge salad with chicken, which was good, and my husband had the chili and cornbread. He said the chili was meaty and flavorful. The waitress was a little brusque but I don't blame her; she was very busy taking care of the entire dining room by herself. The towel dispenser in the bathroom had an Out of Order sign and there were no other towels provided so I was forced to dry my hands on my pants. I think this restaurant has the potential to be great but didn't quite hit the mark for us. read more

Once again we turned to Yelp to find a local eatery for breakfast. We were extremely pleased with this local restaurant in Islamorada. We walked in on a rainy Tuesday morning and were able to be seated right away. The dining area was quaint and clean. Upon being sat, we were greeted by our server, Stephanie, our drink order was taken and promptly delivered. The menu had a variety of choices from omelettes and burritos to Benedicts and shrimp & grits. I opted for the lobster Benedict with cheesy potatoes, Mindy got the shrimp & grits, my sister got the Turtle breakfast, and my nephew got the Keys Benedict with regular potatoes. My breakfast was no less than amazing! The portion of lobster was very generous. It was butter poached which made extremely tender and flavorful. The potatoes were fabulous and I only added a small amount of pepper (because I like it) for seasoning. I was stuffed after cleaning my plate and very satisfied with the meal. Mindy's shrimp and grits came out in a huge bowl. It came with a side of bread and she opted for the homemade biscuits. The shrimp in the bowl were large and tender. The taste of the meal was very flavorful and had a buttery texture which made it even better. The biscuits were very good. We are going to try to eat there for lunch or dinner while we are still here. A must stop place when traveling in Islamorada! read more

We had the most lovely evening at the Green Turtle Inn! They sat us in the cutest spot by the wine wall. We started off with the peel and eat Key West shrimp, the fish dip, and the conch fritters. All were delicious! Then we had the fresh catch special, mutton snapper, and the shrimp and grits. The mutton snapper was fantastic and so fresh! The Key lime pie was a bit different with the macadamia and rice crispy crust. Definitely worth a try! We loved everything about this place, but especially the service. We went in and were seated. Our waitress wearing a long ponytail,nose ring and glasses,never came to take our order. We waited and waited.She was chatting at the bar. She walked by several times but never gave eye contact. We waited some more. We asked someone else if we could order and they went to get our waitress who still kept visiting. We said we will just go ahead and go. No one had a problem with our leaving as a solution It was as if we were an interruption to her day. The 3 other hostesses and waitresses were doing nothing and had no problem with our leaving. They could have taken our order. There were probably 6 people in the whole place so it was not busy. Went for brunch- MISTAKE Food: cold, weird color. Drinks: gross. Service: terrible. The chicken and waffles are the only safe option. The espresso martini is not it, not shaken, no froth, no garnish, NOT IT. The martinis had sat and separated by the time they reached the table. The drinks took FOREVER. Canceled the second round to just grab the check or we would've been there another 40 min. The omelet was warm but a weird grey blue color. The side cheesy hash was cold, toast was stale and cold as well. Sausage gravy+biscuits- good flavor but had to return them for a fresh set, cause they were so cold and soggy, even the gravy was broken. We got checked on maybe once, and had to ask for for an actual bill when the server just announced the total after asking if we were paying cash. The food here is 10/10. Maybe 11/10 for the price; its fantastic. The service is incredibly awkward. They brought our kids plates out first, and they were scorching hot from sitting under a heat lamp. Then several minutes later they brought the adults appetizers and meals out at the same time, after the kids meals. Then they tried to bring the salad last, after the main course/appetizer hybrid. They also included tomatoes on it, which one of our party has a restriction to and asked to be removed. When we declined the salad, the manager came over and made an extremely awkward and public scene with our party about it. Again,11/10 food. The burger and conch fritters were fantastic!
