I am devastated this location is closing at the end of July! There is a sign on the door that says they are looking for a new location around 17th Street (they have another location in CM that you can visit, too). I love this location not only for its food, but also the environment. There's a decent amount of both indoor and outdoor seating. It's a nice space. As for the food: I wish they had a location in South County; I would be there all the time. There's a great selection of salads and sandwiches; many options are meatless, but there's also a decent amount with chicken. I've never had a bad meal here. I also love their fountain lemonade (in addition to regular lemonade, there was also a seasonal lemonade). Great food that tastes delicious and is healthy, too! Final review and visit-- the rule of three. Upon the fourth revisit in the last decade, kudos by the way for running post pandemic, especially after finger-dipping became not only uncool but germophobically unsanitary-- a conclusion can be easily drawn. It began with charging the price of a latte when I ordered a coffee to coffee just ran out to asking for no chicken on the harvest bowl then being served poultry anyway. Tricia, fake name for the gal in a grown Wendy's costume immediately said they'll make s new one as we are vegetarians-- came back in minutes with what one can only assume smelt of chicken fingers and served the exact same plate minus 90% of the palest chicken chunks I've ever seen. All this was about 7:30 and the place closes at 9 but you can already see the fountain drinks being stripped of their colors. Coffee "ran out". Chicken on salad had the boringest color and the pesto dipping sauce comes.. when? With the sweet potato fries? It wasn't there either of the last times. So the rest of the food were yummy and fulfilling as the first successful trip. The hot panini definitely came with all its ingredients and then some more oil on them ciabatta because that's what it needs. Hummus was great but the fresh cucumber is also starting to wilt. For hummus dipping. But that toasted sliced pita bread is really delicious. I feel like when the next E-Coli outbreak happens I will definitely catch it eating something made here. Not because of a low health rating but.. the inconsistency overall makes me question everything. And I don't know if it's just me.. or 'tis the season? But I always get the feeling of walking into The Overlook Hotel when I'm greeted by the cashier. Decided to get Greenleaf to go and hadn't realized the physical location had closed and was fully operating out of the ghost kitchen on Newport Blvd. the menu is extremely paired down and the location is extremely frustrating to access and confusing to pick up with all the delivery service pickups operating out of a single window. I enjoyed the west coast bowl. The turkey had great flavor and the overall bowl was pretty hearty. I also got the sweet potato fries that were good but can't help but get soggy in a to go container. Met up with some friends for lunch at Greenleaf! It was a good mix of options for food and lots of healthy choices! The salads were good and enjoyed the option of having vegan chorizo! This place is a perfect spot if you're feeling a light, healthy lunch that is also very delicious! I ordered the lemongrass chicken salad which had a generous portion of chicken and additional toppings. The lychee lemongrass vinaigrette paired nicely with the salad and the toasted coconut topping added a yummy hint of coconut to every other bite. My friend also really enjoyed his pesto chicken panini which looked really good too. The baked garlic fries he ordered on the side were surprisingly crispy and garlic-y. My bf got the brunch burrito and I wanted to steal it from him because it was soooo freaking tasty (so tasty that I got one to-go to eat at home myself). It tastes homemade but still like something i would not be able to make at home. Other good things to get here maybe for lunch or dinner: - The chicken stir fry. What a great place to have a summer get together! 20 friends came here for Sunday brunch and we were able to experience the fresh, newly remodeled front outside patio dining area. The new plank flooring nicely covered the previous dirt area and the atmosphere and ambiance was even more wonderful than before. The umbrellas were strategically placed and complimented the tree lined patio perfectly to achieve a sunny yet comfortably shady dining experience. The food choices are always fresh and new, yet I'm ecstatic they haven't changed the brunch menu much. As you can only come here on the weekends to get brunch, I'm happy to always see the delicious eggs benedict stealing the show on the menu. I recommend it to all my friends and there's yet one person who doesn't care for it. Being that it's NOT your ordinary benedict.... you may be surprised to see that it has sliced fresh turkey, instead of Canadian bacon atop an extremely fresh and delicious pretzel bun, instead of the normal English muffin. The poached egg is ALWAYS perfect. The flavors meld together well and it has the best hollandaise sauce I've ever had ....that is, of course, made fresh in house. Trevor, the general manager, showed us exceptional hospitality, as usual. He's a very hands on manager and you'll always see him working as hard as everyone else. All the staff is very pleasant, friendly and attentive and everything always runs very smoothly. There is no question everyone knows their place and responsibilities. Knowing Trevor, his management skills and personality are such an asset to any company because he has many years of experience in the restaurant industry, including various types of chains and higher end level establishments. This is not the first, second, third or forth time I've been here and always can't wait to try something new. Steak was ordered medium rare- had to sent it back twice because they messed up the temps and overcooked it. Last time it was better but the cook was uneven and the steak was bland. The fries got stale they didn't bother to give us new fresh fries. Shrimp stir fry bowl. So greasy filled with oil the take away bag was drenched with oil on the bottom of it that's not healthy at all!!! Lemon grass chicken salad - the most forgettable salad you'll ever have. I had an okay first experience here. Not sure what my full thoughts are yet since I had a quick lunch experience with a friend. I was interested in a casual service restaurant offering healthy food options, and Greenleaf delivers on offering that option. Parking is a breeze with the entire shopping complex sharing a large parking lot. Greenleaf has some indoor seating and a good amount of outdoor seating on the patio and the shared public tables. After ordering at the front counter, our food came out in a reasonable amount of time. I got the Kitchen Sink Cobb salad ($15.50). The portion was huge and filling. I wasn't the biggest fan of the balsamic vinaigrette, which was really strong and had a strange aftertaste. Otherwise, it was a really generous salad. My friend got the Turkey Melt on Pretzel Roll ($13.50), which looked less than appealing. It was a tiny sandwich and was pretty pricey for not including a side. 3.5 stars -ish While I am the biggest fan of Greenleaf, my feelings have been wavering as of late. I ordered the chicken pesto panini ($10.99) + an order of baked garlic fries ($4.95). The sandwich comes with avocado pesto, tomatoes, arugula, cheddar + basil pesto vinaigrette. Ciabatta gets super hard in panini form so I opted for the pretzel bread instead - don't do this. Pretzel bread is sensitive so it gets burnt real fast. I instead had burnt bread. No bueno. With inflation, they got rid of the small salad option via DoorDash. I had to order a real sized salad and it was rather expensive - baja kale caesar ($14.50). It comes with kale, a lot of romaine, almond-crusted chicken, quinoa, parmesan crisps, sliced avocado, quest fresco, hard boiled egg, pico de gallo, black beans, pickled watermelon radio, roasted corn with chipotle caesar dressing - twas delicious HOWEVER, you have get extra dressing because dry kale going down your throat is gonna make you choke 100%. HOWEVER, I didn't receive an extra order of dressing, so eating this salad was rather rough. I like Greenleaf a lot...but it's a commitment to healthy eating at premium prices. read more

Had the Turkey sandwich on pretzel bun roll with my hubbie.... Was a small sandwich filled with Turkey & Gouda Was very meaty. Bun was wet from the insides and so was messy to eat and filling wet the bun. Sloppy. Looking around I think we should have ordered a salad.... But we were not in the mood for a salad. Fries are not crispy and was lacking the garlic taste... came out 15 minutes before our sandwich. Broccolini salad came out with sandwich... my hubbie did not care for the salad. I enjoyed the sunflowers seeds and cranberries. The dressing is very light! Overall ambience was nice and breezy as we were outside under an umbrella. The service was nice, nothing above and beyond. We came here on my request as it reminds me of home. Have not been here in a long time because we were not that impressed with the food when it first opened. I grew up in an Aggie health-foodie area of central CA so I have high standards. This place has a local vibe that's nice... For first timers, this restaurant specializes in mainly healthy and organic foods. So that's a good thing if you plan on trying something that's related to health. There is a brunch menu until 3PM in addition to the regular menu. Since it's my first time thanks to Yelp, staff was friendly and was able to answer all my questions and concerns. Decided to try their stir-fry and chicken was my choice of protein. What caught my eye was the cauliflower steak. Don't be fool because it's not steak, it's just cauliflower. They do have selected cocktails but recommended staff for those who are more into fruity cocktails, go for peach please. Be expect to wait for the food because it can get busy...especially on the weekend. Finally got my order. Peach please looks like lemonade but has rum in it to my taste. Stir-fry looks good and taste healthy. They forgot my chicken after eating 3/4 of the plate and told the manager. Did show a picture as proof (when it came it initially look like) and he did apologize and was happily to bring me my chicken. But if you are expecting like big plate for what you expect from a Chinese restaurant, you won't get it but it is light so that's a good thing right? Overall it was a good experience. This place was cool. Went here for a Sunday brunch/lunch and there were a lot of people there. It's kind of an open layout with a lot of air slowing through so that's as nice. For that reason they might have been a little less strict in mask-wearing. I did a Build Your Own salad and it was tasty. Had a few extra toppings (you're allowed 4) so I paid extra for that. I also got a mimosa which was pretty good. Together my bill was $24 which is a bit high for a salad, but I guess that's how the cookie crumbles. The girl on the register was sooo nice and pleasant. If I wasn't trying to be nice during Covid this place would only get 1 or 2 stars instead of my generous 3...It's pretty sad when the best thing out of my entire meal for myself and my family was the sweet potato fries (probably not even made from scratch). The tacos were full of fatty meat that we had to pick off. The West side taco (carnitas) in particular was 70% inedible fat. The east side taco was slightly better but both tacos weren't very flavorful. The worst thing we ordered was the Turkey Melt on pretzel roll. The pretzel roll was undistinguishable and looked burnt. Also the sandwich was missing the greens and missing the caramelized onions. The pesto chicken panini at least was made correctly but it was very bland. My girlfriend and I ordered the nachos to start and I ordered a Cobb salad while she ordered a bowl of sorts. Both of our entrees came out probably ten minutes prior to our appetizer which isn't ideal but oh well. My salad was good but nothing special which is to be expected with a Cobb. They did leave off the egg which was disappointing though. My girlfriend enjoyed her bowl but it was a bit heavy on the beats. Again these are minor complaints. The first time I was here, I had the turkey burger and it was very juicy and tasty but didn't feel heavy. The garlic fries were great! My friend got the chipotle panini and it was a huge sandwich! She said it was amazing and that it's one of the few times she could actually taste the chipotle. I took a quarter piece and my mouth was on fire! lol the cashier was nice and the space was nice, very airy and spacious, but could've been a little cleaner. Been here before. Loved it! Today I will admit that I had a bad day and wanted to be comforted with good food and good atmosphere. Came here to feel comfy and to unwind. Could have gone elsewhere around here but I chose this based on my past experiences. 1st part of my order, turkey chili came decently fast. I was famished. Finished the soup. Oh, I'd say 15 minutes later after everybody who ordered after me was served, I got my food. But time wasn't the only thing. I mentioned that the Honest cola tastes watery...and believe me I've tasted and drank Honest cola plenty of times but my mentioning the cola being unflavorful, liken to that of water, my mentioning that didn't seem to matter because after my meal a good 45 minutes later, the Honest cola still tasted the same. And to boot, I wanted lemonade since the cola was dead and their lemonade machine was empty as I emptied the last 4 ounces of it. It sat empty the whole time I was there. Now granted, the lady comped my meal and gave me some kind of card but honestly, in a bad day like this, I would settle for some cozy, good food without the muss or fuss and expect somebody to comfort me via prompt service and good selection. I will be back, but like baseball, strike 1. Customers like me put up with a lot and I don't complain much often, but when I am venting, it's not only because I've had a bad day, but it compounded even more dinner time. I hate that! This place is very spacious. There's plenty of seating area. Luckily, I came with a large group and we were able to use the outside patio to fit everyone. I like their sweet potato fries. The food here taste pretty healthy as you can tell by the name. The almond chicken texture was ok, not quite what I was expecting. The gluten free rice appears to be made of broccoli stem crumbs mixed with other vegetables. I never really eat this type of food but it wasn't bad overall for eating healthy. Staff was great. They brought out the food pretty quickly given how busy they were. Make sure you have mosquito spray if siting outside. read more
