Walking around JC and about to take the train to the city decided on stopping by for the 2nd time to order coffee. This place it's located In front looking at NYC. There's options either you take Jersey trains or the ferry to the city. This coffee shop is inviting and friendly. Good coffee and variety of pastrie

Coffee was decent, banana nut pound cake tasted dry and stale. Nice view of the city with plenty of outdoor seating. This local franchise didn't provide the quaint coffee shop experience I was looking for.

Decent coffee place with many options for breakfast sandwiches and pastries. Love their salted caramel coffee and crumble cake. Easy to get on way to work.

Well I should've read the reviews before I came, and I almost didn't leave a review but I was a little surprised by a few things. I ordered an iced cortado, and while there is usually an up charge for oat milk, it was $.95! With a latte, I get that (although a dollar seems to be steep for a non-dairy alternative). With a cortado where there's maybe a splash or two of milk? I was a bit astounded. Plus, this feels frustrating to write, but the cup wasn't fully filled, and the top didn't fit correctly, so when I mixed it around gently in my hand, it splattered everywhere. When paying $5 for a coffee (plus tip because tip your baristas!) one would expect a full cup and a delicious experience. Unfortunately I didn't get this. I will say, the store was clean, bright, and the two people working were perfectly pleasant. I might give it another try and just have iced coffee.

DDL is elite. They have it all. Fantastic pastries, cakes and sandwiches. Great coffees. Spacious,…read moreclean and cozy seating. Friendly and helpful staff. Super affordable prices. I've never eaten anything that I didn't like. My faves are: milhojas, breakfast croissant sandwich, and any and every cake with dulce de leche filling. I only tiny, minuscule complaint I have about this place is the lack of signage for the pastries and cakes. It would be nice to know what I'm looking at without having the ask. Absolutely zero gatekeeping here. Please everyone keep patronizing this establishment. I need this place to continue to exist in my hood.

So get anything fresh, like made to order cakes or things you see come out right when you're there. Otherwise you run the risk of getting old stuff, which sucks that they don't manage that at all. On a Sunday afternoon lines moved quickly and we were able to find seats. This is a cute cafe that offers plenty of savory items and lunches, plus drinks like matcha, cakes, pastries and cookies. There is also a bathroom! The women behind the counter were all nice and patient with my questions, they also kept the line moving and were quick. I had high hopes for the Alfajores as this is an Argentinian bakery but unfortunately the ones given to me were stale. The cookie was very hard. Also the Dulce de leche was too sweet and burnt tasting to me. I also got a chocolate covered one and the cookie in that was also hard and dry. The strawberry croissant was amazing. Never had anything like that before. Not too sweet and very flaky. It has a ribbon of red on the outside which gives it a unique look. I would love to come back and try savory items. I'll continue to stick with the cakes and croissants for desert and make sure it's fresh!
