This is a unfortunately the worst Gregory's coffee location I've visited. The only perks is the view. The barista was talking on the phone entire time I was in the shop. We ordered two lattes and it was obviously that one of the espresso was messed up. One latte was over frothed and latte had such messed up viscosity. I had high expectation but I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone else. read more

I want to like this place because the staff is always so nice, its right off the Path and next to the school, but I have been there 3 times and am always disappointed by the drinks (the most important thing!). Coffee tastes like water, hot chocolate was ok but kinda watery also. And the chai latte! My sister is a fan so everywhere we go she always orders that. She could only taste the milk, and though we hate doing this, she asked if they could put more tea or fix it and after they did it was basically the same thing. Neither of us finished our drinks. (Also there's always only a few pastries left at around 5-30-6pm when I get there but I won't blame them for being busy). 3/5 for the ambiance and the staff, but sadly the beverages deserve a 0. read more

This coffee shop is at a great location. Beautiful Waterfront, next to the Ferry, in the middle of hotels. I was staying in the Hyatt which is about 2 minutes walking distance from Gregorys. We came here to get some coffees and teas to warm us up before the Ferry ride on a 30 degree day. The service is great, very friendly, the interior does come off "hipster" (as stated in other posts, but what coffee shop doesn't come off like that nowadays?!). The place is clean, service was fast and friendly, and they also had great coffee and tea. Sounds good to me! read more

I usually get a matcha latte from here. The consistency of quality can be iffy at times; sometimes it's really well prepared and well presented, and sometimes it just comes out like a carelessly stirred together mess of matcha and milk. I started coming more frequently because they have oat milk, which doesn't have added sugar. I'd been pleasantly surprised by the not-so-sweet almond milk, but it still has some added sugar (I really wish they would carry unsweetened almond milk!). This coffee shop has been a long time coming, offering jersey city folks a new dimension beyond the Starbucks next door. As a coffee shop snob, I was excited to check the place out. However, id give it a c+ review at best. Perhaps it's growing pains, but my coffee took far too long to make. While it was absolutely delicious, It was served in a small, cheap cup. I don't often go into shops like this, because I haven't always received the greatest service at some of the other coffee franchises, but walking into this location after a rough commute was a pleasant surprise! I believe it was Joel who helped me out, he was such a bright light and a warm smile to illuminate my otherwise less than stellar work day. That's a great place, maybe the best in Jersey City, to spend your free time, to enjoy an amazing coffee with a tasty snack. If I will evaluate this place based on their vegan food, I would say 4 out of 5. I came here and bought something more than 10 times. But it is really disappointing how they manage this place. On Google, you can see that they are closing at 7pm, no, it's not true at all. Whenever I came here after 6 pm, I always face with some problems. Sometimes, they say that their food all finished, sometimes they say that they closed the kitchen. Today, I said okay, I need to write something about it to prevent you to face with same problem. If you are hungry, and if the time is around 6, please don't go here. Today, I ordered some food and coffee around 6.15pm. They took my order, I paid with my debit card, then I waited around 5-7 minutes. After, an employee came and said that they close the oven, it will take time to open it again. Then, I said okay, I can wait. However, she insist that she can not open it. So, I said that "Okay, I can buy only my beverage, and the rest can be refunded to me". Then, she said that she are not allowed to do that. Come on, are we living on the primitive ages? She offered me another drink or a vegan bar that I tried and did not liked before. So, I did not accept and wanted to talk with manager. She said that manager is not there, so I want her to call the manager. I don't know what is the role of manager if she (I guess her name was Alina) can't manage this place? I've always appreciated the service and ambiance of Gregory's Coffee shops and I can't say enough good things about this location. I live nearby and work in the building Gregory's is situated. By the time 9 AM rolls around there is a line to the door so if you do want to get some coffee add a little time to your commute so you're not late. The coffee is good and strong, not watery at all. I almost always get a simple americano (no milk) and it's never tasted "off". Of baked goods, the carrot cake is the best: huge slice of goodness that's not too sweet. I have had co-workers get some sweeter goods like a donut or muffins and they've never had anything to complain about. The rewards program is a plus, for every $50 spent you get $5. The nice thing is that you can use their app to pay (tip included if you'd like). read more

I ordered from the Summit location via Uber. This location could not care less about their customers. Was impressed with their dairy free options. We have some allergies here. The store left a note that they were out of one item and replaced it with what looks like a peanut butter cookie, but I'm really not sure what it is and what's in it. There was no note of what the replacement was. I called at 915 and asked the guy what the replacement was. He said he didn't know. I asked if I could describe it to him since we have allergies and need to know. He said he was too busy to hear about what it looked like and I asked if I could speak to someone else. At which point he hung up on me. I called back a half dozen times and they clearly ignored my call. We were too upset to even eat the food - could not trust a place like this. Coffees were cold by the time I gave up calling. Our order was $90 worth of foods and coffees. Ended up being mostly thrown out. read more

The coffee tastes a bit acidic or burnt to me (I've been twice), and there are some interesting little nut/protein truffles, but not many pastry options. What does one do when they write a review for a place but they haven't had a lot of experience with them yet? Give them the benefit of the doubt that's what. My hubby and I came here after participating in a Freewalkers event recently. We started just outside of Gregorys Coffee and walked up the Hudson to and across the George Washington Bridge. We were supposed to continue down to One World Trade, but we pooped out as soon as we crossed the bridge so we hopped on the subway down to the WTC and hopped on the Path back to Exchange Place. We made it just shy of closing time. We wanted to rest for just a little bit, have something refreshing, enjoy the air conditioning, and enjoy the view. It was really pretty perfect. My hubby enjoyed the location so much he thinks this place is worth returning to and paying for parking just to have a beverage and treat. It helps greatly that they have gluten free treats as well as paleo friendly which we gladly indulged in. I had a paleo muffin, he got a Chex bar. We both ordered Golden Myles and split a strawberry lemonade. My paleo muffin was... okay. It tasted healthy. I'm used to convincing myself that paleo treats are enjoyable. I wouldn't recommend it to someone who hasn't acquired an appreciation for healthier choices. The Chex bar on the other hand...was out of this world! Definitely a cheat for us...as it definitely has sugar, but...it was actually lightly sweet and had a perfect texture and flavor that is better experienced than reading about. The turmeric in the Golden Mylk was very very strong. I was expecting it to be better balanced with honey. We had to request some retroactively and try to fix them up. Did I mention that we ordered those iced ? That made it a challenge to fix up. We ordered them for the health benefits though...so again.. we managed to enjoy them. In fact, hubby really loved his. The strawberry lemonade was definitely another cheat.....it was crazy sweet for us. We rarely have anything with sugar. read more
