They always do vegan food so well here. Monte Cristo was reasonably flavorfully savory. Even though I could tell it wasn't a traditional monte Cristo, I still loved it all the same. It surprises me that this place couldn't keep its second location it is so good. It seems to be a reflection of the respective neighborhood and what people have to spend. I do feel Grindcore is reasonably priced for what you get. I am not vegan but I am a big fan. I am asking myself sometimes if this is really vegan. It's just good food and I wish they could be open longer. I love how they have random night market nights but I always never can make the ones I notice. Check their IG for special food nights, events, and food specials which I tend to go for. My fave so far is when they had a roast beef sandwich and maybe a tie between a banana Creme Brulee(?) latte and cardamom rose latte. Maybe something s-more like with a strong flamey flavor even though I am not usually so campy like that. I didn't know they had a nice seating area in the back. A totally nice place to hang.

I don't take 5 stars lightly, but this place left me with a (grind)CORE memory. I didn't see the sign outside that said "All Vegan" and from the food you wouldn't even be able to tell it was! I got a latte here with non-dairy milk (of course) which didn't cost extra (in this economy??) which was really good. I got the basic sandwich which was tofu on a Philadelphia roll. I'm not sure what sauce or cheese or seasoning they use, but it was amazing! Seriously may call them for the recipe. Everything was super reasonably priced (especially for it being vegan). There are a few high chairs at the front, but wouldn't bring a laptop or sit-down work. They have a bathroom in the back which was small, but clean. The baristas were really nice and very hip. Overall, this place is on the GRIND and it's definitely working for them. Will definitely be going back!

Chai Latte

So cool that this spot is entirely vegan with an expansive menu to choose from for food. I am not vegan nor vegetarian BTW! No up-charge for oat milk in my chai latte (sweet) and for food, I went with the "classic" sandwich, which is their vegan spin on a bacon egg & cheese. The muffin it was served on was so good! Interested in trying their other sandwiches.

Costmo Breakfast Sandwich

My sister and I were on the hunt for a good vegan breakfast sandwich, and Grindcore House truly hit the spot. The food was absolutely delicious, clearly made with care and attention, and so flavorful that I could've easily gone for seconds. Their matcha latte was also refreshing and paired perfectly with the meal. The ambiance at Grindcore House added to the experience--it has such a cool vibe, with quirky touches throughout, and the bathroom was a fun surprise! Overall, it's the perfect spot for a vegan breakfast, and I'll definitely be back for more.

Really cool fully vegan breakfast jawn! The interior is hip and clean and there is a large back room that's great for working in. Food is amazing and everything on the menu is vegan. I LOVED the Mickey G - maple butter, sausage, chz, tofu, on a soft buttery biscuit. Coffee was great too, homemade vanilla syrup and soy milk for me. Food came fast and service was friendly. Will absolutely be back!

I never come to Philly without stopping here. Amazing food and coffee, friendly staff, and always great music playing

Peppermint mocha & plain bagel with cream cheese

I got the peppermint mocha and a plain bagel with cream cheese. The plain "cream cheese" had the perfect texture, but next time I'll get a flavored one. Prices are the same as your average non-vegan cafe. Friendly people! Spacious seating in the back. Love the rock vibe here. I'll be back to try out more!

Grizzli breakfast sandwich

Takeout is always ready when I order it. Every breakfast sandwich I've had from here is amazing, The Grizzli is ITTTTTT!! Love that everything is plant based so I don't have to guess what type of cheese or milk is used. Drink customizations is super easy on the online ordering site. This is one of my favorite spots in PHL to come to when I'm in town for work. I got a shirt I love it so much. 100/10 stars if I could.

My sister, boyfriend and I made a pit stop at Grindcore House after having breakfast at The Dutch. It's been my sister's favorite coffee shop while she's been out in Philly, so I took her word for it. Due to the pandemic, all the ordering and paying are done online. Pretty simple and straightforward. Many of the customers pre-ordered, but we easily placed our order on the spot. The turnaround time for drinks to be made was quick. I'm all about the custom coffee drinks and wanted to try something unique to the place. The Swamp Thing totally caught my eye. The drink was an iced Americano with green mint syrup and soy creamer, so there's no way I could miss the bright minty green layer. Over time the top coffee layer mixes in with the mint syrup, which makes the top layer legitimately appear to be this murky green color. It may not sound appealing, but it tasted great. It wasn't overly sweet and had the right touch of mint that was subtle.

The food, coffee and service are all great. The heavy metal music the constantly play make for an angry unpleasant environment.

Ask the Community - Grindcore House

Are they still takeout only?

Yes. There are a few sidewalk tables but you can't go inside. Staff come to the door to take orders, or you can order online.

Do they offer donuts? If so, what's days and times are they available?

I believe they have Dottie's donuts daily but a selection of maybe 4?

Overall Ratings Atmosphere - 5/5 Service - 5/5 Food - 5/5 Parking - Street Parking Atmosphere - The restaurant is on the smaller side with limited seating, but it feels modern and thoughtfully designed. I especially enjoyed the artwork throughout the space. Service - We had the chance to chat with one of the owners and learned they have only been open for a couple of years. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming, and I truly hope they continue to see the success they deserve. What We Ordered - -Chicken satay (Very good, with a peanut sauce that isn't overly heavy or overpowering like at some places) -Beef rendang (An incredible dish. We were both impressed by how rich and flavorful it was) Final Thoughts - I would definitely recommend visiting this restaurant if you are ever in the area.

No No No .... I…read moreordered an egg salad sandwich from here once and the toast was burnt. Not a little overcooked but black and burnt, and they still made the sandwich using the burnt toast and delivered it to me. I will say when I called to tell them about the sandwich they sent another sandwich immediately but why why why would you make a sandwich using obviously burnt bread. My husband , ever the optimist , ordered a breakfast sandwich on a long roll not long after my egg salad experience, the bread was stale. Definitely worth stopping in for a morning and afternoon meal.

An amazing selection of sandwiches like a reuben, bacon, egg, and cheese, cheesesteak, ch'ken parmesan, tuna salad, and so much more, along with hearty salads, soups, sides, and dessert....all at REASONABLE prices! Hey, Luhv, can we get one of your locations in New Jersey?! They even have a deli where you can buy items by the pound and Luhv's own branded products. This location allowed us to dine inside with Brie (leashed dogs allowed) and there are 2 spaces: a small downstairs area and a surprisingly big upstairs space. The food was on par- everyone I spoke to enjoyed their meal. They don't make their own drinks (yet?). They were out of (vegan) tuna sadly. If I wasn't concentrating hard on the food and closed my eyes, I might've been fooled that I was eating an omnivorous Turkey BLT hoagie. "Bacon" is flavorful enough without depending on frying and oil to grease it up and typical amount of mayo that would be used in a regular hoagie definitely helps me hide the fact that I am really eating a vegan? or vegetarian? hoagie too. The question marks show my lack of sensibility between vegan and vegetarian but at least also indirectly showcase a busy life and the life of an open minded foodie that has a lot more to try to learn with specifics. Sandwiches were made quick and the staff figured everyone came as a group. There was an upstairs but we didn't take it because one of our guests was on crutches. One of the group leaders jokingly said we should go upstairs. Another review said there was an outside. I didn't see an outside but maybe it was too hot out to setup as it was too hot, too early, and the "outside" could have been the bar like area with three stools on the first floor.
