Togo order: I ordered through door dash. We ordered 3 meals and queso but received no salsas. I asked for fajita chicken in my enchilada and it was shredded chicken. No jalpenos with the queso. It is just annoying when you order food to go and it asks you to specify by choosing specific meats and then it is still wrong. We got 2 big bags of chips but no salsa. As I was continuing my Tex Mex cravings, I also ended up visiting Gringo's recently. I ordered their chicken fajitas meal that comes with the fixings. Cheese, pico de gallo, rice, black beans and a petit scoop for guacamole. Their food was OK. The chicken was grilled but it didn't stand out. Even the presentation looks different. They could use more seasoning, and perhaps change the appearance of its presentation. The serving size of the sides was extremely small. The rice was barely a few bites, very little pico, cheese and guaca. I had to end up ordering a size order of guacamole. It looked dark and they had sprinkled cheese on top of it, which I do not prefer. I normally order beef fajitas, and perhaps that was my initial mistake (trying a different protein). Waiter was a nice guy. I will take Iggys over this resturant any day. This Tex Mex doesn't have a plan like most Tex Mex. They don't have a person dedicated to bringing out chips and salsa you have to rely on your waiter. So we did not get to eat our normal amount of chips and salsa. Reason for a 3 was this reason alone. Food quality is just ok probably along with a 4 star. Quantity is 3.5. We were there way too long way over an hour. We came to Gringos for my father in laws birthday. We had a party of 10. We waited about 45 minutes before being seated. Our waitress was absolutely amazing. She was attentive and kind. Wow! I haven't been to this location for several years because of repeated bad food, service. On a whim we decided to give them a chance again, wow, I was pleasantly surprised. Everyone we encountered and everything we had was great. Extremely happy with the service we had from Cayden. He was friendly, professional, and on top of everything. My wife and I Stopped by Gringos before heading back home (College Station) after a long day of shopping. Anthony was our server and on point with his recommendations. Dined here after the movies Sunday. I always order the same thing. Tijuana dish. Which consists of two enchiladas a tamale, a taco, beans of your choice, and Mexican rice. Also get a side of the Mariscos sauce, which have crawfish tails and shrimp with five cheeses and white wine sauce. -2 My Mariscos sauce always come out lukewarm to cool, which I hate that. I checked out the menu and found pollo con queso - grilled chicken breast topped with freshly diced pico de gallo & our famous chile con queso with sliced avocado . The lady on the phone was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. She helped me sub the bean and rice . I sub it with the dinner salad. (Huge) Let me tell you this was one of the best meals I have gotten Togo. It's was packed and beautiful! The chicken breast is so juicy! I added some cauliflower rice and had a complete meal! Stopped in on Cinco de mayo, it was oddly slow around 1 pm.... they told us it would be about a 30 minute wait for a table (we requested outside seating) when our table was ready we were told there was no outside seating (even though there was clearly a table of four sitting outside the whole time we were there. Ordered curbside tonight (5/1/22) for family dinner. I do not know what is going on currently at Gringo's Cypress, but there are too many restaurants in the area that you can get pleasant food. Gringo's Cypress management need to step it up and handle quality control, or you are going to lose customers. Depending on your choice can be a little expensive but most times bill should be just right. I've been here a handful of times now and I must say service is always top notch. Chips and salsa always outstanding as well. Everything is usually very clean but sometimes I notice that the bathrooms don't have toilet paper once they get very busy. Maybe having someone go around and check it every 20 minutes would be nice. This is more like 3.75 stars. The food was good, my daughter had her usual chicken Nuggets, which she devoured, and I chose the beef fajitas for one, as well as ordering a queso. Liked the salsa and the avocado sauce (sorry, can't recall the correct name for it!), but the question had an odd flavor to it. Wasn't what I was hoping for, but it paired well with the rice and beans. The waiter was...well, quite awkward, like he didn't want to be anywhere near our table.
