Oh boy... I have to say it. This restaurant has not only some of the worst Mexican food I have ever had in or around the Houston area... the portions they provided were shocking. More specifically for my dish. When you sit down at a mexican restaurant and noticed that the salsa is awful, you know the food following will not be much better. The red salsa was almost sweet (not spicy at all) and the green salsa was more edible but no heat and cold. My dad asked for a spicier salsa and it was soooo salty. It also quite literally did not have any spice. I ordered the chicken breast alcapulco. When I say that I had a 4 pieces of rubbery small cubes of chicken breast on my plate, I quite literally mean that I had 4 pieces of rubbery cubed chicken breasts altogether on my plate. They styled it in a shishkabob fashion on my plate. (Cube chicken, slice of raw tomatoes, cold slice of avocado, zucchini and then repeat small chicken cube in that format). The sauce it was smothered in tasted like a canned enchilada sauce that was made by someone of European descen.. it was definitely not mexican. Chunks of zucchini threw me off so much and it was pretty hard. Didn't taste fully cooked. I just dont know how this place is still running. I also did have to remember that we were in the middle of cypress, tx and they may be accommodating to the usual crowd that comes in. My plate was also over $20 which was also hard to swallow. Both metaphorically and literally. The only reason why I gave this place a 2 stars is because of their tortillas and the cool vibe the restaurant does have. Our waitress was awesome too. read more

Lunch (1pm) with my daughter and granddaughter today. The place is huge and very comfortable. There's an inside, outside, back room, upstairs and even a play area for the kids. Service staff was very attentive, friendly and efficient. The food was... OK. Price was reasonable. PS tortilla chips were still warm. Small queso and Green sauce were very good. Had lunch here with my girl and we have been here plenty of times. Sadly this lunch was one of those talk about the relationship lunches. So I kept it light with half order of bean and cheese nachos. She got the chicken enchilada lunch special witch was actually very large. My nachos were pretty much what you'd expect and she liked hers for a couple of days due to the size. I have to say the prices were very reasonable for what they served us. Plus I'm happy to say the relationship survived another day! read more

3.5 out of 5. We had a big party after church and the waiters were attentive which was nice. I had a combo plate that had a mix of stuff and it was fine. Nothing amazing but just basic food. My husband had the mole enchiladas which were pretty good; the mole was nice and smoky. My dad had a taco salad which was really good. It was a good portion and I'd definitely go back just for that. Everyone else thought the food was ok. The reason I give them 3.5 instead of 4 stars is because the charro beans were not good. They don't have much flavor and they were served cold. The waiter apologized and microwaved them for me but I wasn't the only one who got cold beans. I feel like a Mexican food place shouldn't mess up the beans and rice. read more

Hidden location but good food. If you drive too fast, you will miss the entrance. Once you enter, you will be greeted with an old school car in the front and you know you have reached the right spot. Be sure to take a picture at the stand to capture some memories. Food - 4 stars Let us begin with the Chilaquiles. The sauce was so tasty and thick, not watery. With some queso fresco and eggs your way, this will hit the spot. The hacienda salad is a good portion size. You can feed two people off one bowl. Side note: ask for some salad dressing because it could be a little dry for some. Flour tortillas: homemade Customer service - 3.5 stars The staff was nice. Price - 3 dollar signs The prices were reasonable. I ordered a tea, chilaquiles, guacamole (appetizer), and order of flour tortillas. I'm so glad I found La Hacienda by the Creek again. I hadn't been in probably 30 years, but I remember coming here as a younger kid. Wow! So.... I was famished and Mexican food was on my mind. There's nothing great within close proximity of my home so I consulted Yelp and I was reminded of a place I hadn't visited in 30 years! My boyfriend was up for it, so we drove the heavily congested area and finally found our destination. I don't remember the outside from years ago, but this one was quirky and fun. We were greeted and seated immediately. We both really enjoyed our dinners and decided to try their tres leches. Ohmygoodness! It was amazingly beautiful and delicious! We went back after a year of not going to La Hacienda because of new ownership changing everything. Looks like we will be coming back. The old time favorites are back. We go to La Hacienda on Telge almost every Friday night. Margaritas are great and the food is too! We have our regular server (Melchor) who takes great card of us along with the rest of the staff! Friendly and great atmosphere. Typically live music on Friday too and it's fun! read more

Visited the Cypress location after dining at LaHacienda in the Heights. Sadly very disappointing. The building smelled musty and the food was not good. Ordered the grilled chicken with veggies and it was so bad I had to send it back. Hard to mess up grilled chicken and veggies but this chicken was covered in a thick tomato type sauce (not described in the menu) that tasted like they heated it up in the metal can it came out of. The veggies were ROCK hard. Not just crisp, rock hard like a squash & tomato that you needed a sharp steak knife to cut through it. The beans were ok and the rice had a good flavor but it was super dry like it had sat out all night. (We were there at 11:30 am!) Red Salsa was bland but ok. I did like the green salsa and tortillas were homemade. Sad that I can't add this location to my Cypress location. The waiter did take the meal off of my bill when I asked him to take the uneaten plate off of my table. read more

I highly recommend this Mexican restaurant if you're looking for real authentic mexican food. The caldo de res was amazing. It definitely had the mexican flavor. Reminded me of the caldo de res that my mom makes. It's so good and the portion is great! According to my sister the enchiladas were flavorful and well made. One of my favorite things from the Restuarant is the Mexican vibe. It literally reminds me of being in a Pueblo in Mexico. The service was great. The staff is friendly and ready to answer any questions that you may have. Overall, I will definitely be coming back with my family. I am happy to say that i found an authentic Mexican restaurant near our home. read more

We had lunch 3/23. We set out on the patio which was very nice. If you have children there is a tube jungle gym for them to play on. The food was good & well prepared. The service was attentive & friendly. Pricing was pretty standard for a medium priced restaurant. They do have a lunch menu M-F. We recommend them & will come back. read more

The waiter didn't speak good English. I told him I wanted an half of pitcher of margarita he pointed at the menu told me this one. The menu showed $14.95 per glass. I got half pitcher and ordered 2 enchilada's dinner. When we was thru eating ask for the bill. It was $139. I asked the menu ddn't stated the half of pitcher was $100. I ask for the manager. The manager agreed with waiter. I told him he should have warned me how I was spending. My husband started cussing. I will never ever go back there. They will rip you with margarita prices. Typically a very good spot with good food and drinks. Last 2 visits in the last 4 days were very disappointing. Same waiter both visits had not seen him before. He seamed confused on every order. Could not understand one drink order and the drink was nasty. The next visit all 4 of us had margaritas that were served in hot glasses and melted all the ice before I drank an inch of it. I'll start with the positive. We walked in, party of 6 (soon to be 10), and we were seated right away. Hostess was fabulous! Ordered margaritas, 3 frozen and one rocks. Well we got 4 on the rocks... no worries though... we were only there for cocktails anyway. One drink in, and we start to look at the menu. We ended up ordering four dinners from the menu. 3/4 dinners had mystery meat tacos! Three people independently said... what kind of meat is this supposed to be??? Oh, so glad I'm the "token vegetarian" in the group. Two people politely sent the food back, and the third just pushed the plate away. Upon request, the manager came over and offered to go taste the meat to see if it was "good."OMG! Still happy I am a vegetarian at this point... The food was horrible! We got steak nachos and tortilla soup. Both were lukewarm at best. My soup was so tepid that the shredded cheese didn't even get soft in the soup. The red salsa was the consistency and taste of watered down enchilada sauce. The service was lacking as well. We have been going to La Hacienda for years. We started going to the one on Memorial Drive but we moved up to Cypress area. Now we go to La Hacienda on the creek, which is on Telge Road. They always have plenty of staff to serve you with drinks and/or ice tea and sodas. We will be going there for the rest of our lives as One of our favorite restaurants in the area. Our kids were raised with their grandparents, taking them to the La Hacienda on memorial and now they go with us to the one on Telge Road also. They are avid Mexican food fans! First time making a to-go order and it was a pleasant experience. Friendly staff and quick turnaround. The prices were reasonable. Pros: Nachos were great. I forgot to tell them to remove the beans but I enjoyed it even with them added. I had a few bites of the beef fajitas as well and the meat was soft and flavorful. They gave us tons of extra chips and salsa. I prefer the green tomatillo sauce. Cons: Seafood Enchiladas were terrible. Low-quality tiny shrimp with a terrible aftertaste. Seasoning underwhelming. I couldn't eat the rest after two bites. I'm willing to give this place another try. A solid 3.5! read more

Hubby and I haven't been here in several years as it's about 25 minutes from our place since a great Mexican restaurant opened near us The food quality in our opinion doesn't justify the higher prices as it is just 1 step above Taco Cabana. I didn't even finish my meal. Brought leftovers home to give our small dogs. The service was also bad because our waiter rarely checked on us even though the place wasn't busy at all at 4:30pm on a Saturday. We still left him a small tip. We don't mind paying higher prices for food that is decent enough to justify the higher prices. We won't be back especially when we can get way better quality of food and better service at better prices much closer to us read more

The food here was surprisingly good. This place is very Americanized, so if you're looking for American-Mexican food--that is, cheese on everything and not-so-spicy salsas, you'll like this place. If you're just looking for Mexican food, maybe try some other place. All that said, the food surprised me. I got the Tacos al Carbon and they were delicious. First impression: Building from the outside is fun looking but upon walking in, I didn't get a warm & fuzzy feeling about cleanliness. Nothing in particular, just a feeling. Not impressed with hostess or wait staff. Chip & dip arrived quickly but only top of chip basket were whole chips, all the rest were fragments. Same when we asked for more. Lots & lots of fragments. Green sauce was nothing special. I did kind of like the red after I added a bit of salt. We ordered a queso dip with added meat. It was very good and the meat didn't have a bean filler like some other Mexican restaurants have. We ordered a quesadilla and split it and the waiter seem to not be happy that we weren't ordering more food to up our bill. I do not recall the waiter stopping by the table and asking us if everything was OK. My husband had to ask for a refill of water, we had to ask for additional chips and red sauce so I don't feel that the service was all that spectacular. Even though it's convenient to where we live, we probably will not go back. read more
