I've been to this Gringos location 3 times previously and had great service and great food which is why today's visit was such a standout. When they have an off day, they go all out! When walking in we were greeted by a hostess reluctantly. Our party was my husband and I and our 8 month old daughter. We told the hostess a table for 2.5 please. She led us to a booth where I asked, how is a booth possible with a highchair? She said oh you can't put a highchair on a booth. I looked at my daughter and there was a long pause where she then said oh, you need a highchair? Uhm. So then she stated she would put us at a table but it wasn't cleaned off yet. We said that was fine as we don't have much choice and we had seen some friends at another table we would say hello to while the table got cleared. When we returned to the table the dishes were gone butbt the table was still dirty. She appeared with a towel and brushed the dirty table off and I asked if she could wipe the tomato off my chair. She just swept it onto the floor. Eh. She then went to grab a high chair and dropped it off and left. I called her back and asked for a towel as it had food in the seat. She grabbed a towel and handed it to me. She then saw I was cleaning the high chair and then apologized and said she didn't see it was dirty. How not??? We finally got seated on cleaned seats and ordered drinks, appetizers and food. After drinks appeared someone dropped off chips, salsa and the green stuff but placed the green one right in front of my 8 month daughter. I was drinking my drink and didn't move fast enough! Green salsa stuff all over the table, my daughter and my Michael Kors leather purse beside the table. As in the entire front of my purse :( Another employee saw it and I said please bring us a towel so I can keep the salsa from my daughter's mouth let alone wipe all this off the table and my leather bag. They returned with some paper towels. Finally after we went through over 10 napkins someone appeared with a wet rag. How is it not taught to never ever place food in front of a child? Any child?? Just don't. The parent will appreciate it. The appetizer arrived- queso with chicharrones. No plates for my husband or I and we still didn't get silverware or napkins. The waiter wasn't anywhere to be seen and I told my husband I was sure we we would get our meals and still no silverware. Granted I'm still upset that I have to go home and find the leather cleaner for my handbag. Our meal arrived and when the waiter asked if we needed anything, we informed him silverware would be nice. Lol The rest of the meal went well and the food, as always, was delicious but tonight was our worst experience ever here. I really hope this isn't a constant as tonight was enough to turn me off of this location. At least an apology would have been nice but none was offered by anyone. read more

Well due to Covid-19 things have changed but one thing remains the same that's Gringo's my experience since their reopening was exceptional first I had to make a reservation which was good it was quick and efficient then once I got there I understood the new operating procedures I felt their number one thing was safely we arrived on time everyone had on mask we had on mask also until we eat they had everyone with tables between them and there was a time limit for dining in which was brilliant immediately after a guest leave they are cleaning and prepping for the next guest I will definitely be back the food was great and the margarita read more

Food was tasty but by the time we got it, it was hardly room temperature like it had been sitting for half an hour. I dont know if there's a bean shortage due to covid right now but the two spoonfuls I was given with my enchiladas was such a small portion it was almost comical. Our party literally walked out. 15 minutes seated and no one came up to help. The entire place is run by 16-18 year olds and the quality of service shows. I would be more than happy to wait if the place was busy, since I used to work as a waiter in college, but the place was slow tonight and employees were playing on their phones instead of acknowledging paying customers. Hey all! Came to gringos on 10/4 with my family and my brother who just moved from California and my grandma. Was a little worried my grandma would not find something she liked on the menu but on the contrary so many great things happened this day. Our waiter was Chris, he was by far the most amazing waiter we could have asked for. He was super friendly, great attitude and definitely caring. We were all unsure of drinks and what we wanted so we were going to just settle with cokes and unsweet teas, but Chris explained to us they offered these really great drinks that were like Arnold Palmers with a touch of orange juice, he said they were always his favorite since he started working there and we all went for it. Best tea/lemonade/juice combination ever! Not only was he helpful but just his uplifted attitude made this experience worth every minute. My grandma loved the chicken enchiladas she ordered and my brother practically drank the cilantro salsa. My husband ordered a shrimp salad and I got the shrimp Veracruz which since my 2nd visit I have actually really liked. The vegetarian black beans are amazing! My brother ordered a chicken quesadilla and my son the tío taco. Everything was delightful, everyone enjoyed their meal but most of all, CHRIS made this happen for us with his personality, excellent customer service, and his attentiveness. I know my first visit was not the best, my second was pretty cool but the third visit is the charm! THANKS CHRIS FOR BEING KIND TO ME AND MY FAMILY! WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!!!! ABSOLUTELY DISAPPOINTED. 9/18/2019 Wanted to take the family out to a back to school dinner at a nice place but ended up spending hard earned money on what was the WORST DINNING EXPERIENCES EVER. .. Took over 45mins for setting with the restuarant at 50-75% capacity. After we were settled at our table took 15 mins to get our drinks ordered. I was like ok, the waitress is trying her best, no big deal until she forgot some drinks and never returned until it was time to take our order...what was about another 20min. At this time the chips and drinks are ALL low so we asked for refills and guess what,,, took another 10mins.. Now I'm NOT ENJOYING what was to be a nice family dinner. Chips and drinks are filled (still missing one drink).. Tried getting another waitress attention but was greeted with extreme attitude. Now I'm asking my wife and kids if am I doing something wrong... WTH Food comes out 1hr 15min after ordering... Now.. no one's hungry because everyone is filled on chips.. If the evening couldn't get worse.. a FIGHT BREAKS OUT between customers, waitstaff inside of the restaurant... YES a fight... Everything settles down and I get my bill.. still missing one drink but billed for it. Paid it just to get the F out of there. Went here recently with my family and I had a really great experience! The customer service was amazing and our waiter was very attentive! My family really enjoyed their food and I did too. I got a spinach quesadilla with beans and rice on the side. It tasted great. I'm really glad that they had lots of seafood options because my parents love things like shrimp tacos and shrimp quesadillas. Also, we were all really happy about the free ice cream at the end! So after my last review stating my disappointment, I decided to give my local Gringos another try. Yeah, big mistake. The first pic shows the empty salsa bowls that were never filled. The second is my finished dinner plate. The third is my never touched ice tea that I asked for sugar for and I never received. When did I receive my sugar? After I received my check. After my previous review, I received an email from Gringos asking for contact information. Did they ever contact me? Nope. UPDATE: My family was able to return to Gringo's and had a much better dining experience. We were seated at a booth near the bar. This meant that the two bartenders were our waiters. We almost immediately received chips and the salsas. We were waited on quickly. The time between giving our order and getting our food was still a good long wait, but it tasted good. Everyone enjoyed their meal - but the kids barely ate (filled up with chips before the food came out). I'm increasing my rating from a 1 to a 4 star. Good food. Pretty good service. Nice atmosphere. Good presentation on the plates. The wait for the food is the only thing that, in my opinion, keeps Gringo's from getting 5 stars from me. Would I return? Yes - if it didn't look busy, and/or my children were not with me. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I want to start out by saying that I loved Gringo's before this evening. I used to come here on a semi-monthly basis with a co-worker. We had the best service! My cup was never empty. Chips and salsa came within minutes of sitting. Food came fast, piping hot, and fresh! My family would come for special occasions. However, I am so disappointed with our experience at Gringo's tonight. I called ahead to inquire if they took reservations. They don't. Fine. No problem. (although I'd recommend it - or call ahead seating). My family arrived (3 adults and 3 children) celebrating Grandma's birthday. We often like to celebrate special occasions at Gringo's. It has been a family favorite. We told them we were a party of 6. The place was packed!!! And it was just a Tuesday night?!? Luckily (I thought), we were immediately seated at a booth. "Happy day!" I thought! Now we can dig in to that delicious salsa and creamy avo dip! It took a solid 5 minutes to be noticed by our server. NOTE: Please keep track of these times, because they are REAL! Finally, Stephanie came to take our drink orders. She asked if we wanted an appetizer. I declined, mentioning that I was anxious to get into the chips and salsa and avo dip. Well, that didn't show up for 10 MORE minutes! 15 minutes into our visit before chips and salsa arrived. A few minutes later, Stephanie arrived again to take our order. We had been ready to order for some time, now. We all gave our order. I didn't realize that we wouldn't see our order for another 45 minutes!!! There was a booth behind me where the family had received their food, ate, and left, and another family came, was seated, ordered, and their food arrived at the same time as ours?!?!?!??! Their food came within 10-15 minutes of being seated. We got our food more than one hour after being seated!!! By the time the food arrived, my kids had demolished both bowls of chips, completed the front and back of the activity pages, and had their heads on the table - ready for bed! They barely touched their food (well, there goes $18 down the drain). Back to when our food arrived. the adults and one child received their food (this was 60 minutes in to our visit) followed by another 5-7 minute wait for the other two kid's plates to come out! One was wrong. It was 'fixed'. We wanted to wait for everyone to get their food before we dug in, but it was just getting ridiculous at this time. "Do you need anything else?" the waitress asked. I asked for our receipt (since I had no idea how long it would take to cash out, even though we had just received our food). She brought our check, swiftly walked by and set it on the table....and that was the LAST we saw of Stephanie. She never came back. I sat with an empty Coke Zero for most of my meal. Grandma asked some random waitress (who happened to walk by) for some 'To-Go' containers. Random waitress girl brought some by. We sat and waited. And waited. Stephanie never returned to take my credit card. We were done eating in about 5 minutes because we were all frustrated (or asleep - if you were a kid) and waited another 10 minutes AFTER FINISHING our food before Travis (i'm assuming, because his name was on the cash out receipt), who seemed like a manager of some sort, offered to cash us out. So, I understand that tonight was a special elementary spirit night at the restaurant, but that should be planned for! This was the worst service I have received in over a year! It was the WORST! My children's elementary school often has spirit night at Texas Roadhouse, and the experience and service there is always amazing! My family and I went out to dinner last night. Service was absolutely awful! We waited for 45 minutes for a table when there was multiple tables open. We finally got seated and ordered our drinks and it took forever to receive them, we were already finished with the basket of chips by the time we received our drinks and were still missing some. 45 minutes later we finally got the attention of a waiter near the bar after getting ignored by waitstaff so we could get a water. We waited way over an hour to receive our food and we were still missing a part of a plate. Everyone was already finished with their food by the time the waitress came back and we finally got the rest of their plate. To top off the night a fight ended up breaking out in the restaurant between 3-4 customers, 2 of them were obviously over served alcohol and were stumbling out once they were escorted and pulled out by staff and customers. read more

Among the culinary drek around Klein High School is this gem. One two consistently great restaurants in the area, I have never been disappointed when eating here. The stuffed pepper is better than I've had from anywhere else, and their other menu items have a very well-balanced flavor profile. We called ahead of time to get on wait list,,, when we arrived we checked in, and continued to wait an hour while having drinks in the bar. Would give 0 stars if I could. My husband and I went there last night and we were seated without a bad wait. Our waiter, Joseph was AMAZING!! He stopped by our table to check on us several times during our meal. The food was hot and fresh and sooo delicious! It was a very pleasent evening, until who I can only assume was a manager (dressed differently than the staff) made a comment we overheard. The manager (I found out later his name is Greg) told our waiter, Joseph that Joseph will not be getting a tip, that he'll give it to someone who works harder. I felt so embarrassed for Joseph, not just because it was infront of others, but because he has to work under such an unprofessional and cocky manager. We will never return!!! Very corporate atmosphere- it looks like a cafeteria decorated for Cinco de Mayo with a bar on one side of it. The food was horrible- not even worth using storage in my phone to take photos. The fajita platter for two was awful! Barely any onions, no peppers or tomatoes, the chicken was processed and the beef was sinewy. The tortillas were also processed. The salsa and whatever the green crap was served with the chips was bland and tasted store bought. The guacamole salad was absolutely awful! It tasted like store bought guacamole plopped on top of limp lettuce with a few red onions sprinkled on. The service was slow, and the young man waiting on us was terribly overworked waiting on several tables at once. Our Margaritas tasted like a Margarita mix gone terribly wrong. This Gringo's is my family's favorite Mexican restaurant. We eat there often. Decided to support them during the shut down with take out. Absolute let down. Kids taco meal came with hard shell when we ordered soft, lettuce all brown, guacamole salsa was brown like it was made days ago, Marisco bowl had little to no white sauce. Would've thought they would have the take out bit down pat by now. Great for dining, McDonald's level for to-go food! read more

Love that this location is here rather than driving to the one off of 45. The ambiance in this location is nice and can't even tell you're in a shopping strip. The Astros game was on and asked if the tv above us could be changed to the channel with the game - no prob! The service was friendly and accommodating even when they're quite busy on a Sunday afternoon. My fiance got a Corona-rita and loved it. We ordered the queso as an appetizer - very good! And for entrees I got the tortilla soup bowl and he got a chimichanga. I've had their flautas here before and it was good (my fav dish). I wanted to try something else on the menu that wasn't too heavy, even took some of the soup home! I think they could up their flavors & portions a bit more, but maybe that's just me! read more
