The staff is friendly. They used the small space very well, and the interior felt cute, cozy, and warm. The coffee taste didn't match my preference, so I wouldn't visit again. If the coffee had been good, I probably would have gone often. They charge sales tax on to-go coffee, and I think this is wrong. read more

With the rainy weather getting a hot matcha latte from Griz Azul Cafe was heavenly. The matcha itself was excellent and made with oat milk. I also enjoyed the waffles with berries. I prefer my waffles a bit softer, however it paired well with free fruit. The strawberries were so sweet and delicious. I enjoyed the service! The owner took our order and made sure we were good. What a hidden gem! next door to a hotel in the outskirts of Ktown. The barista I had was very friendly and helpful with the menu, it was a one man show and he did a great job making the drinks, prepping the pastries, and taking orders. prices also very reasonable :) read more

My friend wanted to try this local cafe and picked me up an horchata latte (he got something with turmeric in it). I'm not a huge coffee drinker so tend to be not a fan when my latte or whatever has too much of a coffee taste, but my iced horchata latte flavor was perfect. It definitely had caffeine (it made me anxious lol but that's forsure a me problem and not a problen of this cafe) and the flavor was yummy. I'd be curious about their lechera latte too. read more

The friendly owner is the epitome of what makes great customer service. You can tell the locals frequent here because he knows them by name & they say, "see you tomorrow!" Fantastic family-run addition to the coffee landscape in Koreatown. Sleeper hit. We tried the Horchata Latte and the Black Tea latte. Both were fantastic. Both drinks are not too sweet yet milky. I am a harsh critic of places that advertise Horchata-flavored coffee drinks. This place does it right with the level of cinnamon and sweetness used. I was pleasantly surprised by the richness of the Black Tea Latte. I expected a standard milk tea. I truly got a black tea latte - a milky drink that is just right on sweetness, that also had a rich black tea flavor. I've only ever experienced this taste at Chicha San Chen (Michelin Guide boba store). They use the same technique - using the espresso-like machine to extract flavor from the black tea. The service is fantastic. The uncle and daughter pair work closely together and remember all their customers. They are very welcoming and passionate about their coffee. Since they are in soft opening mode, the cafe has lots of space to sit and do work with a nearby outlet. I expect it to get busier when they are finished integrating wifi. Given how plentiful Wilshire is with cafes, it is a pleasure to see 8th street join the cafe ecosystem with a unique value add. I'm looking forward to come back more regularly. Everything I had here was great! From black drip coffee to lavender matcha lattes, and this also includes their food too! I spoke to the owner, who happens to be super friendly, along with the rest of the staff, and he mentioned that they roast their own coffee beans every week. I was pretty impressed at that and the fact that you can taste the quality and the difference. They had quite a few delicious looking pastries that I didn't get to try this time (short trip) but I will definitely be back in the future. This cafe is at the bottom of the Hometel Suites at the corner or 8th and Kenmore. There's indoor and outdoor seating and parking in the front (on street) and in two garages that the hotel owns. He told me they even can take orders on the phone/in advance and have your coffee/food ready for pick up. It's a locally owned cafe with conveniences you'd only expect from larger chains, which is amazing. read more

i love how small and quaint the spot is however the prices are extremely high for the value of the food. I had the tuna sandwich and while I do know LA prices are all ridiculous, this sandwich was not worth $15, even with the bag of potato chips. The sandwich advertises an "aioli" of sorts which there was no flavor of, and the bread was regular loaf bread from the grocery store. For that price, I expect a thicker bread or higher quality bread to hold the tuna better, the tuna was fine, but it was certainly not as advertised. What was nice was the avocado and sprouts inside. I got a matcha, it did not taste insanely fake like other low end matchas but it did not have the intense earthiness i craved but the size of the iced latte was where i was pleased. Either the sandwiches have to be cheaper or better quality ingredients. Matcha was okay, they are better at coffee. Overall would not return. review mainly for FOOD read more

Best local coffee shop in my area. The barista and owner Javi is attentive and a kind man. He sells his own beans there, a rich espresso that will make any coffee lover squeal in excitement. My favorite drink, the brown sugar shaken espresso is spectacular, I can't find anywhere else. For any cold brew lover, my boyfriend recommends there's. It's dark and chocolatey and wakes you up in the morning. All in all, if you're in Ktown, and looking for a quaint coffee shop made with love, this is the place to go. read more

Came here for a light breakfast and it totally hit the spot. This is my second time here and it's definitely will be coming back. The place is super clean and there's a little spot out front to hang out. Good place to walk to if you're visiting and staying in the area. They have tons of healthy food options and the owner is a great guy - he said they'll be adding to their breakfast menu soon. Service has been incredible both times I've been here. Small little Cafe with great food and drink. I had English breakfast tea and Overnight Oats. The yes came out in a small French press with cream and honey, absolutely superb.
