Food was delicious and big portions, best hashbrowns i've ever had!! The service was quick and everyone was super friendly. Loved the diner vibe. 10/10 experience!

    French Toast

We decided to try this restaurant for breakfast. Our waitress, Julia, was very efficient but not very friendly at first. By the time we left, we managed to get a smile out of her. Our choices, French toast, waffle, creamed chipped beef, and regular eggs platter were delicious. The place reminded me of an old time diner.

    Menu

Went for breakfast and at 6:30 they were already 1/2 full. Good service and food. We had the French toast and bacon and sausage. French toast very good, bacon very good with burned sausage. My son had a breakfast burrito which was just ok. I would recommend going. Very friendly service.

Excellent place for a quick breakfast with the family or just a couple. Service was great and it wasn't too loud. We got seated immediately and food came quick.

Clean establishment. It has that dinner vibe going on. Service is great. The food was adequate and filling. I'm sure we'll be back.

    Shrimp and grits

I think this place was very cute. Small menu but reasonable prices. I got the shrimp and grits which was very good. I would say it was very small shrimp and a tad greasy but very delicious.

Just a simple cheap breakfast spot! No wait to get in and sit down. Breakfast all day if you want. Everything is for sale, so whether its the signs or the toys (parents you have been warned)

So heads up -- you're going to experience a wait here. Especially in the morning on a weekend. But let me tell you, it is WORTH IT. I surprised my mom with a birthday breakfast here and she absolutely loved it. It's a cute, retro diner with all of your typical breakfast options and then some. They specialize in grits, so you'll find many variations throughout the menu. My mom chose Shrimp and Grits as her meal and it was DIVINE. She mentioned it was the best I think she had ever had! The grits here are TO DIE FOR. They're so good. I'm dairy free so had to opt for no cheese but they were still the best I'd ever had. Every one of us six enjoyed our meal and the service provided. You may have to turn a blind eye to a couple of cleanliness issues, but the pros certainly outweigh the cons here! If I find myself in the Outer Banks, I will definitely be returning for a visit to Grits Grill!

This was such a great find right near my condo. I had never been before but was looking for something relatively close. Great service! The food came out fast and was delicious. Decor is very 1950's diner style. I was able to visit a few times during my stay in the Outer Banks. This will definitely be a go-to spot from now on.

We come to "grits" often. The automatic waitlist is the BEST. I wish more restaurants would use this. It makes it great for locals. Thanks!

They were accommodating for a large party so that was a plus. Ordering took about 30 mins to get out our food, there was a mix up with the ticketing but it was resolved. My order was unimpressive, it was like a small paddy sitting in cheezewhiz, my bun was burnt, and fries were greasy soggy, the other order was the fish, and that was probably the best thing to order, it was crispy and tasteful. the wings were decent, a little light on the sauce but palatable. they only had diet drinks in, and had very few choices. i really felt the price was not justified for the price and service. Our server was polite but slow, and 3 of the other orders were forgotten because the cook thought they were the same... that's what we were told, so it took a while longer for the rest of the order to come out. Most likely won't be coming back.

The restaurant has two distinct dining areas: the front section is first-come first-served bar seating that offers the full menu. The back section, which would be ideal for families, holds about 30 tables, mostly booths, with the hostess stand. We chose to sit at the bar and had a great experience. We started with bruschetta topped with burrata cheese. I ordered the angel hair pasta in a white garlic butter, cream sauce with marinated chicken and grilled vegetables. My husband ordered the special hamburger with Swiss cheese bacon, spinach and mayo with a side of fries. We ended with slices of the key lime pie that didn't disappoint! The food, service, staff and environment were exceptional! We overheard the Server mention that veterans receive complementary meals on Veterans Day, which speaks volumes about how this restaurant supports those who have served. My wife and I brought family from Europe thinking that we would have delicious NC seafood. Instead we had food that was only ok in taste and portions that were laughable. When the server handed my wife a 1/4 glass of wine, I laughed out loud. My $32 dollar dish looked like an appetizer and was less filling. We were 4 pretty small adults who all left hungry after spending more than $125 for our meal. The food was not the only issue. The place feels more like a cafeteria. The service was also terrible. Our waiter had a pretty nasty attitude and either was having a bad day or just hated his job. My advice? Go for the view. Standing outside during sundown was spectacular. Then get in your car and eat somewhere else.
