I wanted to love this place because it is so close to home and I'm always in search of a good hot chicken spot! However, this place didn't quite hit the spot. While the portions are huge & reasonably priced, they just haven't gotten their flavors right. I got the Chiang Mai Hot Chicken & after taking a few bites, I felt like the flavors were way too powerful and intense that it was kinda hard to finish. It also has a nice kick but I don't think it's spicy spicy. It felt like the Thai flavors & condiments were just so intense. My husband tried the Hot Chicken burger and it wasn't spicy at all (& he's not much of a spicy eater) which means it had no spiciness at all. I did however love their curly fries (they're an extra $5 & not included in the burger prices). Saw this place on a TikTok video and was impressed with the food and how great they looked. This place is about a month old per the barista/helper who assisted us today. Upon coming in, very clean, spacious, and aesthetically pleasing to the eyes! We were also greeted immediately. We were confused at first because the Swine &Sons where we wanted to go looked like a to-go area with no dining but there was a sign to go into the cafe next door so we did, we found out they share a kitchen and same staff. We ordered from both. From the cafe, we got a dopio and butterscotch latte. Both excellent. The dopio was a little acidic but overall great. The butterscotch latte needed more sweetness but honestly it was quite tasty as well and would get again. From the burger/food menu, we got the OK onion smashburger and chiang mai hot chicken sandwich with 1 side of curly fries. The fries were ok but wished we got actual curls as we got mainly scraps but still delicious... however not sure if they are worth $5 to me. Now the smashburger was a 9/10. Fresh, juicy, and plenty of sautéed onions! The chicken sandwich was juicy and the fusion with Asian spices and hot sauce was a nice touch but was way too spicy that I did not anticipate it to be extremely spicy so tread lightly with this but 8/10 for flavor and overall taste. They do have a small variety sandwich, salad, with delicious curly fries This is my first time coming here and the menu was pretty right in your face. No questions need to be asked. Food: Turkey club 10/10 definitely one of the best turkey clubs I've had in a very long time. So this place was a mix of wow and meh. So if you make the right choices, you could have a great experience or a meh one. Service is solid and I enjoyed the coffee shop burger joint combo. Now for the food. The Tropical White ice tea was a bizarre flavor that I can't describe. It wasn't pleasant, but it wasn't horrid. (Update: when the made me a peach lemonade, i also had a weird experience, but I stirred it more and then it tasted as good as my wife's. The peach lemonade was refreshing and delicious with a beautiful hint of cinnamon. They were nice enough to change my tropical white tea with a peach lemonade. This was our first visit and honestly it was a great experience. The vibe here is amazing!!! Kenny and his team were so kind, friendly, and genuinely very helpful! I've never been to a coffee shop where the team members walk around checking on everyone, asking if they'd like water, or even actively addressing by name. It was a really great atmosphere and a nice vibe. The pastries are delicious, the coffee is scrumptious (and not burnt!). The drinks are made to perfection! Perfect flavor to espresso ratio, the milk was steamed to the perfect temperature. Blueberry muffin and banana bread was soooooo good. The coffee shop is very nice and modern. The decor is cohesive rustic chic. They have a nice patio sitting area and a drive-through also. Uniquely attached to the coffee shop is a restaurant that looks good too. It's a walk up window type of place and to go orders. But you can order in the coffee shop too and sit up there and eat. The restaurant is awesome , it works perfectly in tandem with a coffee shop. WE HAVE TRIED: Turkey Club Sandwich, ( a healthy and light sandwich) . Ok Onion Burger ( A MUST TRY ) and the spicy Thai Chicken Sandwich Chiang Mai . Their menu is pretty limited, but I think that can be a good thing. That way they're able to perfect the items that are available and eventually branch out. We shared the onion burger and the spicy chicken sandwich - I must have accidentally ordered the basic hot chicken but their spicy Thai chicken sandwich was the one I was wanting. The regular hot chicken was not spicy and on the plain side, without any sort of sauce, but the chicken itself was juicy and well flavored. The burger, however, was SO good - great house sauce similar to a thousand island, very cheesy, would go back for this. They have a side of curly fries for $5, which is a sharable size. Ask for their white barbecue sauce on the side for dipping, they also have a good hot honey. Service was very attentive, even just sitting at the coffee bar. Tried them for the first time when meeting a friend for a quick bite and coffee break at Foxtail Coffee. I haven't seen their takeout window open and functioning yet, and don't know when they will open it for service but don't be confused because of it-- they are open and functioning-- you just have to put your order inside Foxtail Coffee at their register. [[HIGHLIGHT]]If you want to eat inside, the seating inside Foxtail is pretty much their sit down area and you'll be given a number to put at your table and someone will bring your order out to you from their kitchen.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We didn't have any issues with this system but like I said, in case you were wondering if it's open, it is-- just go inside to order. Now about the food... OMG. I got the Onion Smashburger and it was literally melted in my mouth good!! I normally don't finish burgers if they are a good size but I inhaled that burger like it was my last meal lol. I didn't get the fries but my friend did and though I didn't try them, it was a good amount of food with the burger. I ordered my husband a Hot Chicken Sandwich and he told that it was also pretty tasty. I don't mind paying a little more for burgers/sandwiches if they are packed with flavor and are good. You order through their sister restaurant next door which is a coffee shop (Foxtail Coffee). So they can up charge on their drinks and coffee while you're at it. We ordered 2 different Smash Burgers and both extremely over cooked to almost a crisp, also they were very, very SALTY like their fries. I dunno what to say, we wanted to like it, but for the price ($14) each plus fries are charged separately, it wasn't a good product imho. Update. I got a NEGATIVE response from the owner and I guess "I don't know food and I don't know sh_t?! so 1 star at best. Thanks for the negative response, it was very "customer service" oriented and helpful of you for me to never go there again. I will never recommend anyone else that I know to go there either! This place popped up on my instagram, so we obviously had to come try it. The location was nice because while there is just a walk-up window to order to go, you can dine in at the Foxtail Coffee shop that's connected (they will give you a number and bring your food out). Customer service was fantastic and the food was really good, but only if you know what to order. The Chiang Mai Hot Chicken sandwich was delish, but truly very spicy haha so be prepared for that. The OK Onion smashburger was good, but a little too greasy without any tomatoes or lettuce to cut the onion and meat. It does come with pickles, but we got those on the side because I was sharing with my husband and he is anti-pickle (the pickles were really yummy and probably would've helped cut the greasiness). This place is weird to be a hamburger/sandwich inside of a coffee shop - that should have been the sign to leave. We got a hot chicken sandwich and a smash burger + fries. The hot chicken sandwich was mid at best with what looked like a mix of dark/white meat not a chicken breast patty and it had a huge chunk of weirdness in it. The smash burger was pretty good at least....the fries were a toddler size portion but cost $5 extra. When the food came, the lady who brought it (white female, middle aged, black ponytail), slammed the trays on the table (not an exaggeration) with an audible sigh and irritatingly walked away without saying a single word. We watched a second family come in and order. The lady came back out and said "of course I have to walk to the patio" since they were sitting outside. We watched as she slammed their food on the table and walked away as well. She then walked around just mumbling to herself, as the baristas looked at each other like what the heck....she was clearly not happy to be there. Overall, I would never go back and never recommend to anyone either. In fact, we were headed to a game at Gorman when another family said, oh we might stop at Swine & Sons afterwards....we made sure to tell them not to bother with overpriced food and terrible service. Again terrible service....but they SURE DID turn that payment around and ask for a tip!!! I'm just sad I don't have a picture to share of the toddler fries and weird chicken sandwich.
