I come here almost every Tuesday with my little family. The tacos are $1 and they are so good. My son is 8 months and he loves the rice here. Once I came for a Margarita and they are so good. We thought we would update our last review now that they have reopened. Here's what we noticed: 1. It appears that they have narrowed the parking stalls to the minimum legal limit. This obviously was to accommodate more vehicles. Unfortunately it also is concerning when you discover a new ding in your vehicle. Perhaps they should make arrangements for overflow parking. Street parking at your own risk. Gladstone can be a raceway at times. 2. Inside the restaurant: Nice changes mostly to the kitchen and restrooms. Some of the booth tables need some adjustment. Too close together. Perhaps removing them and going to all tables would be better configuration. 3. Food: Seems to be the same as before the remodel but we have notice some small differences. Could be the chefs have changed or just an off night. We did notice that a few little "Extra" charges are now showing up on the bill. Not anything to complain about though. Several of the Mexican restaurants we visit have started charging for extra chips and salsa etc. Cost of running a food based business climbs faster than most business. We were a bit taken back when we were charged $1 for the extra hot salsa. Not so much for the charge but the fact that nowhere on the menu did it stipulate a charge. Those who are regulars understand this and have no problem with it. 4. Staff. It remains the same if not better than before the remodel. You are welcomed into the restaurant as if you were visiting their home. Very personable. Sometimes they are overwhelmed and service is slowed a bit. In some parts of the world this is the norm. People should slow down and enjoy the experience. We have no problem with this issue if or when it happens. This is the kind of place you feel like you may want to get up and clear the table for them. Overall: Still a 10 on a scale of 5. We wish they would serve real margaritas and other cocktails but understand the reasoning that they do not. There is nothing wrong with wine margaritas however just imagine what would happen If they did add that feature to their menu they would have to enlarge the dining area into the patio and move the patio to the roof like Rubys at the beach did. Unfortunately though parking would still be a major issue. Moving to a larger facility may change things too. We have introduced many or our friends and neighbors to Guadalupes and they all enjoy the food service and ambiance. They too join me in hoping some day to enjoy a real margarita. Even the waitresses agree. Keep up the great work folks. You are way above Max's or La Tolteca. Keeping it simple works! When you produce a good product, the sky's the limit. read more

It was OK. The food was pretty good and reasonably priced. The service was dicey. They gave me some grief about using my Entertainment book coupon since it seems a chimichanga with rice and beans doesn't qualify as an entree ... made no sense to me. I think if you put out a coupon to get people to try your place, you shouldn't be extremely picky about what they order since the goal is to get them to come back. So I am still looking for a new local Mexican restaurant to call my favorite. read more

How can I say this without being to harsh?... Not good!!!! Where to begin.... ah yes, the moment you walk in, at first glance on a busy Sunday afternoon, you can't help but to be amazed at how full the parking lot is and how many bodies are filling the booths and tables. One can't help but to think, "This place MUST be great if all these people are here!". Lesson learned. Just because it's full of people doesn't necessarily mean it's great. As we walk in (we being my wife and our 3 kids under 7) we stand by the door awaiting to be seated, as the sign in front read, "Please wait to be seated". After a few seconds, a waitress see's us and says, "Please sit wherever you'd like". We walk in and navigate through a full restaurant to find a booth that was recently vacated. As we patiently wait for the waitress to wipe the table down. I can't help but to notice that the table we are about to eat on has about a 10 degree slant. All I can do is hope our meals don't slide off. We sit, get menu's, order and the rest was downhill from there. Food was not fresh! The meat was cold towards the top and hot towards the bottom which can only mean one thing....Microwaved. Rice was hard and the plate was small. My 5 year old had a bigger portion from the kids meal than what I got. My wife's food; Greasy, greasy and oh yes....greasy! Given, we obviously don't expect super healthy food, but we also didn't expect puddle of grease in rice and beans either. We ate what we could, and waited and waited for our waitress, which by the way never showed up again to provide refills, or give us our check. Instead, I navigated my way back towards the front of the restaurant to find the cashier, retrieve my check and paid. We left there vowing to never go back. I will say this; I see many have posted great reviews for this place but as far as first impressions go, FAIL. There are several other Authentic Mexican Restaurants around the same area that I will gladly refer our acquaintances to. read more
