The food here is fantastic! There are so many Italian restaurants in town, that you really have to do something extraordinary to stand out. They nail it. I'd love to give five stars, but I'm turned off by the fact that they strongly discourage eating inside. They really want to be a take out only restaurant, and they show it. Wow we don't know where to begin. Guicho use to be our favorite place to eat and it has totally gone down hill huge. We called did a to go order the lady stated well it will be 2 hour wait really for 4 items. We ended up ordering from here and the whole order was messed up and there was barely any sauce on pastas, as well they forgot garlic bread. Wow then we orders a soup and a chopped salad missing salad dressing as well as the soup lid was not in tight and it went all over. We are so upset, on top of that we called and asked to speak to a manger the lady who answered the phone was so rude said no manager here. We asked how can you fix this issue: our order was horrible and missing stuff. Every time it gets worse. Maybe our expectations are too high. But the lasagna was the final nail in the coffin. Literally had throw it in the trash. Disappointed. Found hair on the cheese. It also was cold. SPAGHETTINI w/ MEATBALLS we ordered asked for extra meatballs and sauce they gave us 4 meatballs and penne noddles what the heck: really get with it you guys. This place is so good. Everything on the menu is good. Only negative thing is they close in the middle of the day from 3-4. But otherwise I'd highly suggest getting food to go or eating there. Now they have BOTH ends of town conveniently covered and offer freshly cooked delectables including salads, main dishes and desserts. Having driven down the 101 fwy thru the Garlic Capital of the World (Gilroy, California) the aroma of fresh garlic Is absorbed into your body causing uncontrollable want for Italian food with lots of garlic ! This is exactly what happens when you approach Guichos Eatery, entering the restaurant your greeted by smiling, courteous ,happy young ladies waiting to place your order. Behind the front counter are the cooks (a fine looking group of Italians) ! As I approach the counter a young lady named Gwen welcomes me and explained the menu, I placed my dinner order it will be a couple minutes. Dinner was cooked to perfection, Guichos Eatery has to be one Best Italian Restaurant's in So.Orange County ! The food and service is 5 Stars the restaurant is spotless. This is really a takeaway spot with a few tables( bring cushions if you're eating in). Very utilitarian inside, I usually get takeout here once a month. Prompt, friendly service. Pretty accurate with time estimates if you're calling ahead. I really enjoy the food here, especially meatballs! In spaghetti or sandwiches, yum! REALLY NEED TO UPDATE THE HOURS OF OPERATION ON YELP. Hours of operation state that they are open today (Monday). Called to place an order, and phone recording says they are closed SUN/MON. Lazy business practices and inaccurate information lose customers. I've been ordering dinner here during the week a couple times for several months and it's always been a less than stellar experience with the kids who work here. Though I never knew about their closing on SUN/MON, as Yelp shows their hours of operation as OPEN on Mondays. Inconvenient. Also, they still have not opened the restaurant up for indoor dining (all orders are to go unless you want to sit outside in a few uncomfortable metal chairs near the garbage cans....gross). And yet they still insist on spinning the iPad register around for a tip, which is tacky. I think someone told them that if you ask how the customer's day is going, while they're in the process of paying, that they are more likely to tip, LOL. Happens every time and definitely doesn't go unnoticed. Comes off very insincere because they genuinely don't care how anyone's day is. Too many bad experiences here. No thanks. read more

What if i tell you that the best pasta ive ever had so far is not in Laguna beach, its not in downtown San Diego, not even in LA but in a small place in San Clemente and that Guichos. I don't know and I don't care what you say but for me they have the best pasta. What Stands out here is the wonderful service! Everything is made to order, you can taste the quality and care they put into their food. The garlic bread is absolutely delicious and the first thing you smell when you step in here. I suggest getting an order or two, it makes a great appetizer or side along with your pasta, soup or salad. Super disappointed that I got take out from this place on my way home from Work. I live 35 min from this location. When I got home I opened my shrimp salads, which I ordered two of and requested extra tomatoes and got none. They not only put only 3 shrimp on each salad I got ZERO tomatoes so basically I got a bean salad with lettuce. I called to tell them and they offered for me to drive back and pick up extra tomatoes. Ya like I'm driving over an hour for 6 tomatoes since the reason I asked for extra to begin with is because like the shrimp they put 3 on each salad. Ok maybe 4. Whatever the case is I was also charged extra for them. I told them I do not live close so then they said oh well next time you come I'll give you extra and I'll take your name down so you don't get charged again. Oh my holy schmoly was that one of the best salads ever. Drove by this takeout only Italian eatery and as much as I wanted to order a heavier pasta or steak lunch, I needed something light. Ordered the shrimp salad. Comes on a bed of field greens, cannellini beans, super moist sun-dried tomatoes, parmesan cheese, perfect shrimp, garlic bread with a delicious lemon vinaigrette. Put the dressing on and took one bite when I got to the red light just outside of their restaurant, and proceeded to get on the freeway and drive with my knee because I couldn't stop inhaling the salad. Service was excellent, although I think the woman at the cash register could have recommended some things instead of "everything here is good". I said I had never been there before and she could have asked what I was in the mood for, etc. But I obviously ordered the right thing anyway. I came here to eat on the way to LA and maybe because of the covid pandemic situation, this place was not allowed to eat inside. Only for to-go service but my wife and I could eat outside with patio styled table and chair. We ordered spaghetti with meatball , caprese sandwich and chopped salad. I dare to say this place is the best casual Italy food restaurant and food quality is well enough to eat for eat out for all generation. Especially the price is unbelievable !!!!! Food was great! I always ordered their shrimp salad, which is delicious! We also got their seafood pasta and shrimp pasta, also awesome! A word of advice is try to order early. We placed an order on a Saturday at 6pm and it said that it would take about 40-45 mins. The food was not ready when we arrived and we waited for another 20 mins for our food! My family loves picking up food from Guichos, its a good concept and the food is great. Everything they have tastes great but the fettuccini is our favorite and even the basic spaghetti and meatballs is amazing. I am kinda of annoyed with how they handled the missing item the last time we were there. We drive an hour round trip every time we have it and spend a minimum of $100 every time. The second to last time we had it, they ended up forgetting our salad. When we got home we noticed, there was no way I was going to drive another hour back and forth. I called and the girl knew she forgot it and said she would put my name and number in their comp book. I went back the other day and they told me they haven't used the comp book since December and the owner would call me about it. It's been a few days now and haven't heard back, I'm not happy how this was handled. read more

My boyfriend and I decided to try something new for lunch, and off of a whim, we decided to go with Guichos. We ordered an Italian sub and a bowl of chicken soup. After waiting 15-20 minutes, we recived our order just for it to be incorrect. The proportion on the Italian sub is an actual joke. The slice of tomato is greater than the ONE SLICE OF SALAMI AND TWO SLICES OF TURKEY. This is a disgrace to the traditional Italian sub. Please don't waste your money, it's not worth it. read more

Love-Love this - take out only- restaurant. Husband always gets the Linguine. - with shrimp, scallops and clams- he really loves it and compares it to dishes elsewhere that are twice the cost. I like the Chopped salad, without the eggplant ( seems to be dried out and tough when I've gotten it in the past )- the tomatoes, cucumbers, chicken and mozzarella cubes pair beautifully with their balsamic dressing. The meatball sandwich is amazing & garlic bread is scrumptious - like everything else on the menu. To top it off, they seem to only hire friendly, capable young staff - so refreshing. I've ordered takeaway from here several times but not from the catering menu. We had a family birthday celebration at home and since we have two grandchildren under 1.5 years it's sometimes easier to celebrate at home. We we're making home made pizza in our pizza oven and I wanted to pair them with some other dishes. I ordered a 1/2 tray of Lasagna, 1/2 tray of Jumbo ricotta ravioli, 1/2 tray of spaghettini, and 1/2 tray of tiramisu. Went to pick it up at my requested time and it was organized and ready for me. Beautifully packaged and portable. I stuck it in my warmer for a bit to keep warm while we made pizza. Everyone loved the food. Those raviolis are among everyone's favorite and the lasagna passed the taste test of some discerning adult children. If you want to save yourself some time AND get great food, consider ordering out from Guichos. We ordered from the Camino de Estrella location. They are SO nice! read more
