Ngl after the hype I've heard of this place this fell short. We ordered takeout being in the area and figured why not. I got the poi mochi waffles and a side hash browns. The portions of the food was super small with the waffle thin and the coconut sauce watered down and then almost dissolving into the waffle. For the taste I neither got poi nor mochi from that and it tasted just like any rich waffle. Hash brown itself was small as hell in fact smaller than anna millers iykyk. Now did it do anything for me, no it was alright but for $5 that was insane. For the price of everything we had roughly $50 I was seriously disappointed. But the food was amazing. One of, if not, the best adobo fried rice omlettes I've ever had. And I love the home made corned beef hash. Amazing breakfast spot featuring Filipino flavors. The ube pancakes were absolutely perfect - fluffy pancakes and an amazing ube mascarpone sauce that wasn't overly sweet. The adobo fried rice and longanisa were the perfect complement to a sweet entree. The oxtail soup is a bit different from Hawaiian style oxtail soup, but still offers lots of meat. The best and unexpected part was they offer a 15% discount for happy hour from 12:30-2:30pm! I promise you that you will leave happy with an even happier belly!! ~ The first time I came to Guieb Cafe, my boyfriend and I just happened to stumble upon it as I was looking for some Filipino breakfast-type foods around our apartment. But after my fourth time dining in, I KNEW that it's officially my favorite brunch place, reminding me of my own home/favorite home-made breakfast foods. Every time I come to Guieb, I ALWAYS get the Longsilog and try a different type of sweet treat. The longsilog at Guieb is SO yummy and reminds me of how my family prepares Longsilog back home (yes, even with the Garlic Rice!). This dish will never ever disappoint--maybe I'm a little biased since it's my favorite dish, but definitely try it if you haven't already! This time around, my best friend and I shared the Ube Marscapone pancakes and THEY WERE SO GOOD! The Ube pancakes were the PERFECT amount of fluff AND the Ube Marscapone sauce was just so amazing with it. My college classmate recommended meeting at Guieb Cafe for lunch. The restaurant is located on the left side of the complex as you enter Harbor Center. Unfortunately, it was raining and I parked closer to Ige's catering space (which is further into the parking lot from Guieb). We met at the entrance to Guieb and opened the door and realized that it's a small space. I signed in at the cashier counter and was told that they'd call me when a table was open, so we waited outside. We didn't wait long, and were seated in the middle of the restaurant. There were about 8 tables inside. The server brought us water and menus. We ordered corned beef hash with eggs, prime rib loco moco, Ube Mascarpone pancakes and Ube Haupia French Toast. We didn't wait long for our food. The corned beef hash was tasty, but I wished that the fresh corned beef was chopped a bit more (instead of long strands of meat). It would be easier to eat. One of my classmates ordered the Ube pancakes for everyone to try. It was delicious (sweet, but not overly sweet). The tables are rather small, so with 5 plates, plus our Christmas presents, it was a tight fit. The small space is a bit noisy, but we were able to have a nice conversation. I've been wanting to try this place for so long but never got a chance. Plus they don't really have one in East Honolulu. We stopped by one day after getting more soccer gear from a store in the same complex. Guieb Cafe is a kind of a small restaurant on the corner. We parked behind the restaurant and walked to the front to enter. We came around lunch time but it was quite crowded. We just waited a little while and then a table opened up for us. It was just me and my daughter. They had a tv in there playing Inside Out 2, so her eyes were glued on that. I heard that Guieb has great breakfast items so we both ordered breakfast things even though it was lunch time. I got the corned beef and eggs and she got pancakes with sausage. They were both very good. I liked the corned beef and as usual my daughter enjoyed mine more than hers. Maybe I should just order double next time instead of different things for her. We ordered the popular Prime Rib Loco Moco, Ube Mascarpone Pancakes and Poi Mochi Waffles! The Prime Rib Loco Moco ($24) was cooked to the temperature I desired (medium) and it was a well flavored 10oz slice. The gravy and over-easy eggs completed the palette, along with the bed of rice it was laid on. The Ube Mascarpone Pancakes ($17) came with 3 large cakes drenched in their famous creamy and sweet ube mascarpone dressing topped with some fresh strawberries and blueberries! The Poi Mochi Waffles ($15) had a semi-firm texture with a slight crisp along the edges served with their haupia (coconut) sauce provided on the side. After experiencing bad customer service from Eggs N' Things in Kapolei. We decided to give Guieb Cafe a chance. Although it was a 25 minute drive, we would probably wait that much anyways waiting for someone to acknowledge us over at Eggs N Things. Anyways the minute we walked we were greeted right away by a server and told us we can sit in any of the open tables. Servers were friendly and very attentive. We ordered the Da Local Omelette, the Longsilog and I had the ube mascarpone with french toast. Everything was delicious! I didnt get to taste the omelette since my daughter devoured it within a few minutes. I'm taking that as a sign that it was good. I was able to taste the longsilog with the fried rice and it was tasty as well. I might have to tey that next time. The Ube Mascarpone did not disappoint. Very creamy and the right amount of sweetness. Although I coulndt finish it, I did finish the rest when I got home. And while we were eating I noticed that place got full and busy right away. A family came in and a server approcahed them and told them they might have to wait for a few minutes since all the table were full. And guess what? Love this place! We come here every time we visit. This would be a local gem that many tourists might drive by. Its seating area is tight and its dining area is older looking so it's not your flashy touristy type place. But this little hole in the wall offers EXCELLENT food! And, I do mean EXCELLENT! I ordered an omelette; spinach, mushroom and bacon with waffle fries. Firstly I noticed that it was very thin (almost crepe looking) and the initial bite was super salty, but me being very hungry I dug in. After a couple bites (1/2 the omelette?) and becoming more putt off by the salt, I open it up to find a couple sprigs of spinach, a few thin slices of a mushroom and the salt culprit not bacon as described in the menu but BACON BITS!! It was extremely disappointing to think that any restaurant would put bacon on a menu and use cheap processed, more than over salted product and pass it off as bacon. The reason Bacon Bits doesn't need to be refrigerated and come in a plastic container is because it's Salted and over processed. I did not complain as the wait staff were nice and it wasn't their fault (I tipped over 20%) and my son is visiting from Italy and I didn't want to ruin our brunch.
