Our party of four waited only about 15-20 min on a Sunday morning with six parties in front of us. Food came out so quick I was so surprised. All staff were nice but not overbearing. Omg, the prime rib loco moco with friend rice I got at Guileb Cafe is one of my favorite meals that I had when visiting Oahu!! The prime rib itself was perfectly tender and the flavors of the runny egg, fried rice, and gravy all complemented each other so well. Alongside tasting delicious, it was also presented beautifully. This place definitely has a fast turnaround for diners in and out and a line quickly formed after we put our name and guests down. There is a wide selection of breakfast dishes that I decided to get something I rarely see. Country Fried Steak: 8/10. I have not really had country fried steak and this was an interesting dish. The steak is nicely batter fried and the sausage gravy hits just right. I opted for Sweet Potato fries and they were nice and crispy - not overcooked. I would likely get it again when I make sure my vitals are good next check up. The rest of the family rated their dishes as follows: Crabcake Eggs Benedict: 9/10. "Flavor is on point and dis portion is killa. No can go wrong." Fitness Omelette: 7/10. "It's a healthier Omelette with a refreshing assortment of vegetable filling. I ordered their prime rib loco moco, which is a signature dish. The gravy was very salty and the beef itself was just ok - not amazing in any way. Not worth it to me for $24. Man, I really wanted to like this place. Food. Ahi Salad needs work. Cucumbers were amazing, but the fish, well for some reason it was dry. I mean reallllly dry. It was seared perfectly, but it tasted like it was dry aged. LOL. I don't know if it was a cut issue, a storage issue, or a fish issue, but I've never had seared ahi that was dusty and dry. Don't recommend. The eggs benedict were tasty. My only comment is that I'm used to the egg on a Benedict bursting when you pop it. These eggs were WAY over cooked. I did, however, like that there was avocado at the bottom of it, but not sure how I feel about a slice of tomato in it though. The Wagyu loco moco. Disappointing. I definitely would not do this dish again. The meat in the patty was hard and compressed. Gravy was good. Service. Didn't have anyone offer to fill the drinks, don't know if the coffee is bottomless, but they never offered more coffee, or a reheat or anything. I don't want to single anyone out, but there was one person who clearly didn't want to be there...had the attitude of a waitress at a truck stop in Central Texas. Nothing against Texas. Ambience. I think they could improve the place by having some kind of accoustic in the wall to mitigate the sound. There weren't a lot of people inside and it was sooooo loud. This was the last Guieb Cafe I had yet to try on Oahu, and I'm so glad I stopped by the Kalihi location. Out of all of them, I had the best experience here thanks to the amazing service. All the girls working were so smiley and welcoming. They truly seem to embody the Aloha spirit and went above and beyond to serve us. This location also had a decent amount of tables and didn't feel too cramped like the Aiea location. I ordered my favorites, the Ube pancakes, and the adobo fried rice with lechon. Taste-wise, it was just as good as the other Guieb locations, so I was happy to see the consistency across all their restaurants. We did have to wait about 10 minutes for a table on a Saturday around 10 AM. Tip: if you pay with cash or debit, you can avoid a 3% credit card charge. read more

Looked up a brunch place and found that this place had good ratings. However, I feel that we did not. Maybe it's just me but for the Ube pancakes, every time I dug in the texture was so crumbly and dry. The taste was good, but the texture was dry. Found this little spot when we were in Kalihi. I heard of their other locations but never got a chance to visit. Staff was super nice and attentive and the food came out quick! My hubs got the meat omelette (i forget the name) but there was bacon, sausage, onions. It was SO good! He got it with fried rice which was ehh. I got the crab cake Benedict with sweet potato fries. The restaurant is small though with around 10 tables so I can see it being pretty busy around the weekend. Food: We ordered the loco moco fried rice and the ube pancakes. The fried rice was quite salty and the patty wasn't amazing. Our egg also fell off the top before it was served to us so it made more a less aesthetic photo :( The pancakes were pretty good. Not too sweet and I love the crispy outside but soft inside. The mascarpone cream also made it extra delicious. Service: There were two people taking orders and one was definitely nicer than the other lol. We were also handed an extra plate with dust and a nice long piece of hair on it. Their stand out dishes would have to be the Ube mascarpone pancakes top with Ube cream sauce that is just on another level. Also, for you big eaters, their prime rib loco moco is another amazing dish. Rich deglaze over a perfectly cooked prime rib served over a fried rice. Their eggs Benedict or something to behold also, they have crabcake, veggie and traditional, all of which are very good. The hollandaise sauce is perfect! Service is excellent although they get really busy, they are super attentive. Parking can be a little tight literally the stalls are pretty narrow. I've been to Guieb Cafe on two recent occasions and that may be too soon for a review ( there's always time for an update ) but here it goes. Sitauted off North King Street next to Diners in a strip mall. Another entrance/exit is on Mookaula Street. There is parking available for the shared businesses. Ordered via the Clover app for takeaway. This time I got the Adobo Fried Rice Omelette. I prefer adobo with a lot of vinegar but Guieb's was rather bland and there wasn't a lot of pork. Technically, it was not an omelette as the scramble was placed on top of the adobo fried rice. On my initial visit - I got the Kalihifornia Burger; made with a Wagyu patty, avocado, onion rings...and that's about all I can recall. Messy but pretty good...I have to admit I had higher hopes. I believe they are known for their breakfast menu and my next visit will explore that side. read more

This is my first time at this location and even though it is small it's very nice inside and the waiters were very nice and friendly. We went right after work so we were hungry. I really don't remember what everyone had but I had the Mauka & Makai moco. It was pretty good and interesting especially to have a crab patty with my loco moco. From first appearance, I didn't anticipate going to the Kalihi-side Guieb Cafe on a Wednesday, and that's despite there being a closer one in Aiea. However, I guess I had to make an exception with coming to this one in particular. Oh man...where to begin with this place? So...as far as the overall experience went, it was worth the trip. I ordered their Lobster Sensation Roll on Yelp, and I liked the presentation from what I saw. It looked like something I really wanted to dig in. The bun was nicely toasted and uniform, which was a plus. The filling was light and delicate. This is for me, but I would have liked to see some of the lobster pieces diced in addition to the shredded, just for visual, which would have made the lobster sort of stand out a ton. Otherwise, it was very tasty and worth the price. In hindsight, I could have gotten the spring mix to eat on the side and make it look like a healthy meal, but it was a bit hard to resist temptation in wanting to enjoy some sweet potato fries. All in all, it was a good experience, and definitely would recommend it if you want to enjoy something unique and/or comforting that you might like. Thanks, Guieb. My boyfriend had the loco moco and was a classic comfort food he'd been looking forward to eating this whole trip.
