Took my daughter for dinner. The food was absolutely amazing. Everything was on point. The seating area was adequate. The service though. We waited for a while to be acknowledged by our waitress when we were first seated. The waitress was very apologetic though. Sooo good! We split a pizza and a I got a side salad. The salad seemed strange... pineapple, green olives, feta, cranberries... but it was soooo good! I loved it. The crust on the pizza was service was good. The assistant gm was making his rounds and very friendly. 10/10 would go again! We sat outside and the little heaters were perfect. Sooooo, I must give grandiose kudos to this restaurant! Had lunch there...trying to healthier, sô I opted for a salad. Salads can be sooo boring/bland. Not this one. Ordered the Chicken Avocado Flat Bread Insalata. It touched my spirit. So much flavor, fresh, sweet, salty, tart, garlicky, buttery....I could go on, but I won't. There was chicken, avocado, lettuce, cranberries, olives, pineapple, almonds and the flatbread was perfection. It was like a salad pizza treat. And the darn salad dressing made me lick my fork. Guillermo's has been one of the places I've had my eye on ever since I drove by it. Their cozy looking atmosphere caught my eye. Boy am I glad that I stopped in. With the weather recently starting to get cooler, dining outside was a great option. We ordered one of the specials that was on the menu - I forget the name of it, but it was something along the lines of Guillermo's Pizza and Wings. It came with some delicious pizza and wings (obviously, haha). The taste of their food caught me by surprise. I'm used to the same old frozen wings and toppings from pizza joints around the area. Guillermo's doesn't play that cheap frozen stuff. You can taste the quality in their food. I ate half the pizza and wings before I could snap a pic of my meal! The wings were crispy and flavorful. We got the lemon pepper option and the taste was noticeably different compared to other lemon pepper wings that I've had. It was the perfect amount of lemon pepper, not too much. Don't even get me started about the pizza. It was one of the best pizzas I have ever had. I could describe it here but honestly you'd be doing yourself a favor going out to try it for yourself. I just wish it was a bigger size! Definitely try Guillermo's out! A bit pricey if you're used to dining out at cheap places like I am, but worth the money for a great meal! read more

I ordered a large half cheese, half veggie crispy thin crust pizza yesterday after work and brought it home. We opened it up and tried it. Now, I don't know what hit me first: the buttery crisp bottom layer of pizza crust or the absolute flavor of cheese topping with a special kind of sauce that had me lost for words! I think it was the butta, baby! Whew! It was earth shakingly delicious! Flavor city! The toppings were: spinach, black olives, red onion, mushrooms and green bell peppers! What a knockout! After a visit to the SA Museum of Art, we decided to meet at Guillermo's for lunch. It's advertised as Italian food, but I got confused because the decor is distinctively more Latin American. However, I did read on a write up of the restaurant, that the focus of the decor and art was to highlight local artists and the San Antonio influence. Either way, the decor is very kitschy and fun, so it worked. They have counter service for lunch and I ordered a caprese, avo and almonds wrap. It came with fries and it was just perfect! Prices for lunch were pretty affordable and after we arrived, Guillermo's started filling up. This is a very popular place and I can understand why. My decor confusion aside, I truly loved their food. The service was excellent and the place outstanding. As I have read, they want to promote a relaxed atmosphere and positive vibes, which I can say they achieved. I am very glad we found this place and completely recommend it. read more

I wanted to love this place. In the end, I wasn't exactly unsatisfied, but with all of the many choices downtown, I don't think I'd return. The outside eating area is fantastic, even in the San Antonio heat. Maybe I should have tried pizza? The Tuna bacon salad is a great idea. It's a kitchen sink mix of both meats, dried cranberries, fresh pineapple, green olives, red onions and a partridge in a pear tree. Unfortunately, there's just too many competing flavors that results in a bit of a sodium bomb. I think this may have been the saltiest salad I've ever had. I honestly think if I would have ordered it without the bacon and green olives it would have been perfect. Service was really prompt, but not particularly friendly. Most annoying was when my beer was brought to me it was overfilled and dripping enough that it left a massive puddle on the table. I needed a dry mop and a lobster bib to drink it and stay dry. I'm confident you can have a better experience here. Plenty of smiling people seemed to be enjoying themselves- From my experience they could improve on their consistency. We decided to go here for dinner with our group of 6 though we had never been here before. Good call. We were quickly seated and the staff was very pleasant. Our server quickly got our beverages and put in our appetizer. We tried the calamari and also the artichoke spinach dip. The calamari was prepared perfectly - not rubbery like some places serve it. The spinach artichoke dip was different than we were used to - it had a red sauce - but it was very good. We each had a different dish - chicken Alfredo; lasagna; Stromboli; pizza. All of them were prepared very well! The flavors were all good and the food was very hot and fresh. I would definitely return to this hidden gem. While we were finishing our meal the Assistant GM came to our table to check on us and then just had a nice conversation with us, which was nice as well! read more

It's really not that great like it's mediocre but not like great so Yeahhhh but the chicken Parmesan was absolutely fantastic. I would definitely come back for the chicken Parmesan. Just make sure you know that your Caesar salad comes with olive and feta I did not know that the bartender was amazing. He knows how to make the hell out of a hurricane, and a patron margarita on the rocks it was absolutely delicious. We got the deep dish Chicago style pizza with black olives and artichokes added to it. Made the big mistake of getting the 16-in for two people because that was way too much food! It was really good pizza. Only drawback is for such a large place It seem to have a very long wait to sit down. I'm guessing they probably are in the same boat as many restaurants who need to hire more employees and just can't find them. We just went ahead and ordered our pizza to go but ended up sitting on their back patio and eating it. That was nice because I really didn't want to go back to our hotel room and have to eat it in our tiny little room. read more

Located off of McCullough, parking around back. You enter between the two buildings and there is inside seating in both. The patio is a nice option too when there's not bugs and weather is cooperating. Drinks aren't bad. I d had a sangria and a margarita. Normally always go back to the sangria. For good, I love their side salad to start. It's essentially a meal and has banana peppers, dried cranberries, almonds, pineapple and some house Italian dressing. Everything just works together. It's pretty yummy and honestly, we normally split the salad and the main dish for two people. The pepperoni and Italian sausage is a go to. This time i asked the waiter for the recommendation and he recommended the manicotti. Which was different than usual and had chicken and spinach filling. It was yummmmy! That she garlic bread is pretty damn good too. My friend had another recommendation, chicken Alfredo & he said the sauce was a little thinner and more liquid than he'd prefer, but the flavor was there. Another friend had a salad with crispy chicken and the serving was huge and had a good review. Pizza is also another good choice. Calamari, wings. There's likely something for everyone. Can not recommend highly enough. The atmosphere is like a low key house party. There's free & easy lot parking (a rarity in downtown area). The staff is attentive & accommodating. And the food... Oh, boy the food is stellar. Favorite so far is the Texas Lasagna, but I'm working through the menu and everything has been delicious. The lasagna has a slightly sweet sauce that compliments the brisket and touch of spice perfectly. I could probably eat this once a day forever and be happy. Fat, but happy. The pizzas are great, too. Usually a place will be good at deep dish -or- thin crust. Guillermo's excels at both. The deep dish is packed with flavor & good ingredients (the sausage is particularly tasty). The white pizza served with the shrimp fettuccine is absolutely lovely. Speaking of fettuccine, the pasta here is great, too. And you get plenty of shrimp, not just a mound of noodles. The Alfredo sauce is cheesy creamy goodness. Will be trying out more pastas for sure. One last nod to the apps: chips are obviously made in house and come out fresh and warm. Good enough to eat alone, but don't snooze on the queso, it's very nice. The salads are really, really good.
