Get one of each try it out ! If you are there after breakfast they offer a taco sample plate that has a little bit of everything they offer. I've heard great things about guisados and stopped by this one to try them out. For lunch, I ordered a pescado and chuleta en chile verde. The order came out within 5 minutes. The chuleta en chile verde was incredible. The chicken was soft and juicy, while the sauce on top gave a nice kick. The black beans underneath also provided a different texture to the sauciness of the chicken. The pescado was not my cup of tea though. The taste was a bit odd to me and I realized that the cream was a bit off. After removing majority of the cream while keeping everything else, the taco tasted much better. Overall, I loved the chuleta en chile verde. That was one of the best sauce based tacos I've had. The pescado was not as good as I expected but I assume that it was more my own taste buds regarding the cream put on top. "Guisados" are basically stews, you wont find the traditional meats on tacos, rather delicious flavors. My top 3 were the chicharron, cochinita pibil, and mole poblano in this order. the rest were still good! cant beat the price on the sampler - theyre mini tacos so obviously small, but i got a good fill from the serving size. id say the tacos here are a bit more expensive than avg LA street tacos but id consider these tacos as a whole step up. you can taste the quality of the tortilla, and the meat and toppings are all more well rounded and intentional. The breakfast is my favorite. Before 11:30am or 11am. Today they had a delicious festive drink I've never seen before. Pumpkin Horchata!! I added cold brew . Drool. If it's not breakfast, I recommend the sampler mini tacos. I get mine with out chicharon, the giggly texture isn't my thing. They allow you to switch it out for other tacos. Favorite taco spot. From how busy this place gets, I'm sure many others agree. Back when gas prices were cheaper, I would drive roughly three hours for these tacos on numerous occasions. Six Taco sampler is my favorite option. A little bit of everything keeps the flavors fresh. Chicken Tinga and Cochinita Pibil are amazing. Prices are perfect. Very friendly staff and the wait time for your food order is pretty good. It is a bit noisy in there sometimes, but always a good spot to visit. It is much quieter when they first open in the morning. Heads up, the street parking is a bit tough at times and I have had to park three or four blocks away before (might be rookie numbers for others). I noticed on Yelp pictures that the price had gone up .75 cents from the end of 2019; the tacos are definitely mini and even though there were 6 I was still hungry...overall the tacos were pretty good...not as amazing as they look in pictures and some were definitely better than others; since I was still hungry I ordered a chorizo quesadilla to share with my son and at nearly $6 I believe it was overpriced *overall this place was good and I will go back but I was a bit underwhelmed due to maybe my high expectations that I had for this place...I will visit this place again but I won't be hurrying back...probably more of a low 4 stars (3.5 rounded up) read more

I haven't eaten tacos in a couple of months and the best way to break the streak was by going to get the best tacos. I have a small gluten allergy and I was happy when the food they serve came in corn tortillas. I'm sure it probably have flour but my body didn't itch so it was probably small amount. I also have lactose intolerance but I just pop 2 lactaid pills and started eating it was soooo worth it! Plus a side of cheese tamale that was recommended by the cashier was sooo good! The famous taco places of LA. Guisado was up there so I had to check it out and I was not disappointed. The food definitely lives up to the hype. Each bite has so much flavor that bursts into your mouth; you just want it more and more and not stop. I think I got almost one of each... The one that stood out all of them was steak picado and chorizo. Both of them had unbelievable flavors and they were so tender. The place gets very busy and seats are a premium. I unfortunately had to get it to go due to no seating which made the tacos a bit messy... (Try to eat at the place so the tortillas don't get soggy [also ruined my picture opportunity]). The parking kind of sucks too but that's LA for you. They are located within a private street so street parking gets a bit confusing (I still didn't know if where I parked was legal) and they do have parking lot that's run by another business. I have been a server and restaurant manager for more than ten years and I know a genuine effort to create a hospitable ambiance when I see and feel it. Hipster taco joint in East LA that serves up pretty good tacos. I got a chiles toreado taco and a quesadilla taco. The quesadilla taco is pretty good- it's this soft taco with a block of cheese, not sure what kind, and this flavorful sauce. So overall its good. The chiles toreado taco, on the other hand, is so incredibly spicy! It comes with four different types of chillis and a spicy orange habanero paste, and just a little bit of mole. So basically the taco was almost entirely made up of different types of spicy chillis. Halfway through eating our chiles taco, both me and my friend started to tear up kind of badly. There were alot of pauses to take sips of our horchata to help with all the burning and numbness to our tastebuds. It was kind of a mess. Overall the chiles toreado taco was an experience that I'm glad I tried at least once, but I'm not sure I would get it again when I need to run back to the office after lunch- can't risk looking like I just had a breakdown ;) read more
