Ate lunch there after a round of golf at Shadow Ridge. Very extensive menu - ordered the meatball sandwich and my wife ordered the vegetarian pizza. We enjoyed both and the service was excellent. Tried to get a reservation for 9. Hostess said they couldn't take us. Fine, it was a busy night. But she was kindof rude and when I asked if we could walk in, was told we wouldn't be seated (not even given the option to split the group, which we would have done). Went back for lunch the next day, just three of us. Sat on patio and had a fine meal. Service was great. Went back two days later with the reservation for 9 (we're staying at Shadow Ridge, and didn't want to drive which is why we kept going back). Same hostess I think, just not friendly at all. Service was great. Food was mid. Price seemed high for the quality. Overall, I would stay away from the Chicago deep dish, it is a poor copy of what you'd get in Chicago (crust was hot, toppings were actually cold and overall the pie was pretty thin). The thin crust pizza is much better. Someone in our party said the hamburger tasted "weird" (but ate it and didn't get sick, so maybe just a personal thing). read more

Tucked into shadow ridge resort is a beautiful space. Interior is light and airy with a slight cruise ship vibe. Unfortunately the food doesn't quite hit the Chicago culinary mark. I love Giuseppe's in Palm Springs I've been a long time customer- always good food and good service. I was excited to have one open closer to my home in Rancho Mirage. I ordered a large pizza and salad and was given the time to pick up order. When I arrived the woman at the front desk was taking a party to a table to be seated and said she'd be right back 15 minutes later she walked back and got my order together. The salad was incorrect and had to be redone and after 10 more minutes I left with my order - restaurant was not busy and 3 waitresses were standing around chatting - one of them could have taken care of me while I waited - it was 30 minutes to get my order I had placed 20 minutes prior to arrival My pizza was cold and salad underwhelming. Really disappointed and not worth the $60 I spent ... won't be ordering from this location again. read more

This is our 3rd visit. I want to love this place but it has pitfalls. The staff is good. The service is good. The food is okay. But it's expensive for okay. Caesar salad was good but like a tiny dollop of dressing. Ordered a pizza and asked for normal cut (pie cut) not the little squares. It came little squares. They asked me if I wanted it? Uh, why would I order pie cut? They remade it. No offer for a desert or anything. Then I asked for some hot honey. Bill came and there was a $2.00 charge for the honey. That just made me laugh. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! They rip you off and then are nasty on to if it! I've ordered from here many a time in the food is great! This time I ordered a small Chicago Pizza through the website online ordering which said the base price was $15 and the personal pan pizza was $11. I ordered the small but received the personal pan pizza and called to get a refund of the difference and was told I was flat-out wrong by the gentleman on the phone and he got really nasty with me! I was looking on the website as I was speaking to him and he just flat out said I was wrong! Read the great reviews and decided to go to happy hour. Bar was very nice and drinks were very good. Tables were very small so went to the restaurant side for dinner. Service was so slow. Ceasar salad had a HUGE live fly in it. No apologies and anything when we showed them the fly. Food was so so. Spaghetti tasted and looked like it was from a jar. After we finished dinner it took over 30 minutes to get our dessert. Which was only ice cream and a canoli. Not sure if we will go back. read more

We ate here twice this week. The first was take out- pizzas were perfect- meat lovers for him, vegetarian w goat cheese for me! Then we went again on our last night at the Marriot ShadowRidge. I made a reservation for 5 pm after golf, to be safe- the bar was filled!! We had margaritas- well made, not too string, so we had a second!! The we shared a basket of focaccia- yummy. The restaurant is quite pricy. Two 9 oz glasses of wine cost us $54 ( a Chalk Hill Chardonnay and a Trefethen Cabernet). My entee of Vongole (pasta with white clam sauce) had 4 out of the 10 steamed clams unopened-an indication that their clams were not fresh and a potential food poisoning hazard. We're owners at this Marriott property where Giuseppe's rents space., the food is not bad, my eggplant parm was good, but my wife ordered a spaghetti dish without mushrooms . So of course it comes loaded with mushrooms - she spends her dinner hour combing out the shrooms. I tell the waitress, she tells the manager . Apologies ensue, but no discount , no free tiramisu ,just a full price . So I say are you sure no consideration? After a few minutes back comes the waitress with a $1.60 reduction in the bill. hahaha. Nice looking waitresses, lots of tattoos , nice room. No consideration for the kitchens mistakes. We tipped full 20% . We might go elsewhere or get delivery next time. read more

'homemade marinara.' Nope. Its out of a jar, and tastes unpleasant. Foccaccia is like corn bread. It came out of one of those box mixes u put oil and water in. Frozen pizza dough isn't offensive, it just tastes of nothing, paper. Pasta thick and claggy, like a chain restaurant, probably not made on site. Processed taste to most food, there were 4 of us and we had quite a few items. I actually went twice cause shadow ridge is in the middle of no place. Same experience twice. Service is good, waiters are nice, drinks good too. The restaurant isn't expensive, its just an Italian Applebee's, done slightly better. The key word here is slightly. Its alright. I probably wouldn't go back. Ive had a lot worse. But then I've had way, way better. read more

Food was delish! Server and manager were very friendly and kind! However, we were celebrating a 50th birthday and most places provide a small dessert, etc. to celebrate. We were given a dessert with a candle-very nice and delicious. But be prepared, it's not free! They charge you for it on the bill. This is the first time we have celebrated a birthday and been charged extra for it. That part was very disappointing and we feel we should have been told that ahead of time. read more

Last night went to Guiseppi's at Shadow Ridge. A solid 5 star Italian restaurant. Wonderful menu, a terrific selection of wines from Italy including wines of the Piedmont region. They even made a specialty favorite Italian meal for me that was not on the menu (Sausage, Peppers on a bed of fettuccine with a olive oil garlic blend and was absolute perfection. And the joint was busy all night. My wife's lasagna portion was huge and was spot on one of the best she has ever had.. My only complaint is its a little loud, but the food and great service more than made up for it. They call themselves a pizza restaurant, but have a great vareity of Italian dinners. read more

Very disappointing. We checked in to the Marriott Shadow Ridge for our annual Long stay. The clerk mentioned Giuseppe's which cheered us because the on-site restaurant has been closed since Covid. And husband was saying just last week he was hankering for deep dish pizza a la Numero Uno. I read the reviews and took note of noise issues and choice of loud techno music instead of something more appropriate for Italian in Palm Desert. We walked in last night and turned to each other and said simultaneously "no!" Because if the loud music. So we ordered two pizzas and sat in the car, then took them back to our villa .... And they were awful. Both were so undercooked they were doughy raw underneath. I had gotten the hot honey pepperoni and now wish I had ordered it charred. I scraped off some toppings and threw the rest away. The sausage on my husband's deep dish was raw. We threw all of that out. read more

WARNING! THIS RESTAURANT CHARGES 30% OF THE MEAL COST FOR DELIVERY!!!! We had a $60+ order queued up on January 1, our first-ever order from Giuseppes, when I realized it was charging me $24 just for delivery! So I called the restaurant, and the hostess said the delivery was handled by a third party (Doordash) and they didn't control what DoorDash charged. I said "First, it's your restaurant, your name on the door, guess whose reputation gets hit by this?" and then added "And I've ordered from many restaurants that use DoorDash or Uber Eats and never had a delivery charge like this." She claimed ignorance (poor training). So they lost a customer and gained a bad review all at the same time. Poor management! read more

Drove down to the Shadow Ridge in Palm Desert and checked in. After a moderately long drive,Yes, we were hungry and in need of some adult beverages. The service was very attentive, did not have to wait hardly any time for the server to come by and take our orders. The food was delivered, it was hot, and DELICIOUS! The setting is quite nice in the evening lighting. The service was on par with what would be expected. The Caprese appetizer was very good with ample balsamic vinegar. The sole fish entree was adequate for the prize. The puttanesca was slightly spicy as expected but light on the anchovy flavor. Supplemental purchase of Forcaccia thyme bread for $5.00 was very disappointing and out of place for an Italian themed restaurant. read more
