I feel bad for this review. We sat at the bar, for lunch, on Friday. The bartender was FANTASTIC. Very friendly and attentive. We had high hopes for the food because we had been to the Palm Springs location and really enjoyed it. We ordered a Caesar Salad, came out with no dressing. Once we got some dressing, it was good. Not great but good, croutons were stale. Hubs ordered Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken. The noodles were ok, the Alfredo sauce had a weird aftertaste, like cardamom? The chicken on top was Great! I got the Lasagna and on top was a lot of mozzarella like a blanket, and although I love cheese it was too thick. The sauce was good but the noodles were mushy/gummy. Very disappointed. The pasta dishes also were not served with any bread. I've never had a pasta dish that came with zero bread. So be prepared to order some bread if you want to sop up any sauce. But my biggest complaint was the open kitchen. The chefs or helpers were LOUD, like shouting loud. It was too much. And ruined the atmosphere. For $85.00, plus tip, over $100, was not worth it. I doubt we will be back. Again very disappointing. read more

Wow! Often when a restaurant opens a second location it's a disappointment. No so this time! We always enjoyed the Palm Springs restaurant, but it's quite a drive from Bermuda Dunes. We went to Giuseppe's at the resort on my birthday last week and it was perfect. Joe, the owner, did an amazing job on the build out of the place and both the food and service were terrific. We were seated outside and waited about 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged our table. We ordered two appetizers, but only one arrived before our entrées. The second appetizer didn't come until the same time as our meal, which defeated the purpose of ordering appetizers in the first place. Unfortunately, my entrée was prepared incorrectly, and had to be sent back. When it was returned, it looked like the incorrect toppings had simply been scraped off rather than the dish being remade. To make matters worse, the food came back cold. Service throughout the evening was very disappointing. Our server never checked back on our table, no tea refills were offered, and we were left waiting for long periods with no communication. Because we had tickets for a show, we couldn't continue waiting around, trying to find our server. We eventually had to go inside the restaurant ourselves just to request a check. Overall, the experience was frustrating, far below expectations for the price paid . read more

have been going to the Giuseppe's Palm Springs for years. Since we live in Palm Desert and excited to go there and get their Chicago Joe special deep dish. Ordered it today as takeout by calling, usually takes 35-40 minutes to cook a deep dish so went to go do some errands. Within 15 minutes I get a text my order is ready, so go and get the pizza when I pick it up it feels a little light so open it up does not look like the deep dish I have received in the past nor does look like what they have on the website. There is no sauce on it just some crushed tomatos and a regular looking crust. I asked the hostess is this a deep dish she says yes. So we go home and the bottom is a little over cooked, some parts burned. And to add my disappointment my wife double check the receipt to make sure we ordered the Chicago Joe's special, we did, they over charged us. The online ordering lists a price of $31.72 for a medium Chicago special which comes with Sausage, Red Onion, Bell Pepper, Pizza Sauce & Pesto Sauce. I was charged $31.72 plus $2.75 beach for sausage, red onion, bell pepper, and pesto sauce no pizza sauce on the receipt, which I received after I paid. For a total of $42.72. Don't know why they have a with price but when you order, they do it as a custom pizza without all the listed ingredients. Sadly, I will not be going back to what my favorite pizza place. read more

What a wonderful dining experience! The place is beautiful and the employees are friendly and attentive. We got the 3 course meal deal and I had the Chicago pizza and it was so good! Hot melty and meaty!! My Dad got the chicken parm and my Mom the shrimp scampi with house made linguine all delicious ( my mother raved over the pasta dish) we all had leftovers ( including our desserts we took home) We shall be back to the Palm Desert location very soon Thanks Paul for a wonderful meal read more

Ate lunch there after a round of golf at Shadow Ridge. Very extensive menu - ordered the meatball sandwich and my wife ordered the vegetarian pizza. We enjoyed both and the service was excellent. Shadow Ridge really needs a quality restaurant on site - Giuseppe's should offer a free appetizer or desert to draw more Marriott residents or owners to eat there. read more

Tried to get a reservation for 9. Hostess said they couldn't take us. Fine, it was a busy night. But she was kindof rude and when I asked if we could walk in, was told we wouldn't be seated (not even given the option to split the group, which we would have done). Went back for lunch the next day, just three of us. Sat on patio and had a fine meal. Service was great. Went back two days later with the reservation for 9 (we're staying at Shadow Ridge, and didn't want to drive which is why we kept going back). Same hostess I think, just not friendly at all. Service was great. Food was mid. Price seemed high for the quality. Overall, I would stay away from the Chicago deep dish, it is a poor copy of what you'd get in Chicago (crust was hot, toppings were actually cold and overall the pie was pretty thin). The thin crust pizza is much better. Someone in our party said the hamburger tasted "weird" (but ate it and didn't get sick, so maybe just a personal thing). read more

I've stayed at Shadow Ridge many times and usually eat at the bar located at the snake bite pool. We decided to do something different and try Giuseppes. As soon as we entered the host was helping the party ahead of us she greeted them showed them tables inside, outside and then back inside again. It took awhile but we were ok to wait. As soon as the host got back she went straight to computer and started typing didn't acknowledge or greet us in any way. While she was typing she asked us what can I help you with without making eye contact and giving us the feeling that we were an inconvenience to her. We said eat in, she said for how many we said 4. She grab the menus and just walked away from us, she waited by what I assumed was our table. We have a 9 and 1 year old, the table was way too small I asked her if this is the only table because we have a baby she said yup and walked away. I went straight to the manager complained about the hosts rude attitude and informed him we won't be eating here anymore and will never come back. Absolutely ridiculous! Caesar Salad portion very generous..almost too large.would like a little more green leaf romaine vs. Yellow. Bolonese Entree Sauce with Speghetti was hearty generous portion and flavorful. Would suggest they consider using a flat noodle such as a Pappardalle or Fetticine. Even with a slightly smaller portion. Tucked into shadow ridge resort is a beautiful space. Interior is light and airy with a slight cruise ship vibe. Unfortunately the food doesn't quite hit the Chicago culinary mark. I love Giuseppe's in Palm Springs I've been a long time customer- always good food and good service. I was excited to have one open closer to my home in Rancho Mirage. I ordered a large pizza and salad and was given the time to pick up order. When I arrived the woman at the front desk was taking a party to a table to be seated and said she'd be right back 15 minutes later she walked back and got my order together. The salad was incorrect and had to be redone and after 10 more minutes I left with my order - restaurant was not busy and 3 waitresses were standing around chatting - one of them could have taken care of me while I waited - it was 30 minutes to get my order I had placed 20 minutes prior to arrival My pizza was cold and salad underwhelming. Really disappointed and not worth the $60 I spent ... won't be ordering from this location again. read more

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! They rip you off and then are nasty on to if it! I've ordered from here many a time in the food is great! This time I ordered a small Chicago Pizza through the website online ordering which said the base price was $15 and the personal pan pizza was $11. I ordered the small but received the personal pan pizza and called to get a refund of the difference and was told I was flat-out wrong by the gentleman on the phone and he got really nasty with me! I was looking on the website as I was speaking to him and he just flat out said I was wrong! I highly recommend staying away from this place since they seem to rip you off and and then are nasty to you on top of it! read more

I explicitly told the Universe, "I am never going back there." The Universe laughed, slapped my car's alternator into early retirement, and forced my friend and me to sweatily push a dead two-ton Accord directly into the Shadow Ridge parking lot. Fine. Message received.Since we were already trapped in purgatory, we decided to eat. We ordered the Meat Combo pizza, and it was so spectacularly delicious it almost made me forgive the cosmic betrayal. We were completely drenched in sweat from our roadside workout, but our server (guy with long black hair working the happy hour bar) possessed the magical ability to completely ignore our pathetic, dripping state and treat us like normal humans.Service was flawless, the background music was a vibe, and the ice water tasted like it was harvested from a glacier by angels. I still hold a grudge against fate, but I'd probably break down here again. We were in Palm Springs for an event and went to at Guiseppes for dinner. From the moment we walked in until the time we left we were so impressed with the overall experience. The customer service was excellent, the ambiance was amazing and the food was incredibly delicious. I will definitely bring going back everytime I'm in Palm Springs. read more
