    Steak Burrito
    Frank L.

I tried Guzman y Gomez in Schaumburg recently - it was just okay. I think of this restaurant as a Chipotle/Qdoba except not as tasty. I tried the steak burrito - it was wrapped up pretty well and a lot of toppings but you can tell the steak has been sitting a bit it was just warm not hot. They do have a nice condiment station inside with 3 different hot sauces, cilantro, onion and pickled Jalepano which was cool. Service was always pretty friendly. Overall, it's just okay. But I'd go to a chipotle or Qdoba over this place for sure (or an authentic Mexican restaurant).

Great for the whole family - we came with two adults and two very young children! We've never been but have seen the one close to us in Naperville so were excited to try this out. We went mid-afternoon on a Friday, so it wasn't too crowded and were welcomed kindly and experienced excellent service. We ended up ordering the kids quesadilla meal, which came with fries, 2 quesadillas and a drink and a burrito bowl meal, which came with nachos and a drink. I thought the pricing was decent, seems similar to other restaurants, and you get a good quanity of food. I got the chicken burrito bowl and it was filled with rice, beans, chicken and had some chips on the side. I thought it was quite tasty and is similar to what I usually get from Chipotle. The kids meal was also quite tasty and the kids enjoyed. They also have a hot sauce, onion, hot pepper and cilantro condiment bar which was really nice. I loved the vibrant colors, dining area, service and food taste and quality. Now that I have visited and tried it, we will add this to our rotation.

Getting a Cali burrito is always a great occasion, and this establishment's offering isn't too bad for what you get. You can fill it with chicken, ground beef, steak, pork, beef brisket, and sauted vegetables. The flour tortilla wasn't mushy and had a decent texture. I had the steak, and it was pretty flavorful, but I was hoping for a bit more steak on it. I really appreciated their salsa station. My favorite condiments from it were the pickled jalapeños, smoky Chipotle, and roasted jalapeños. There is a bit for everyone's taste, so that's a plus. If I am in the area again craving a fast food burrito, I will probably come back by to give another option a try.

Good food. Could be a little cleaner. Napkins are too cheap ( thin and low quality) and the tray/plate the burrito is searved on is too small to make it comfortable to eat on. Food was very good and a fair price! During the lunch rush there was plenty of staff, but management was using one of the prime booths with computers and meetings. Many or most of the stools were missing leg caps and were rocking. Numbers used to deliver the orders were left on tables where no one appeared to be seating consuming prime seating locations. Again the food and service were very good.

Location was easy to find. I came on Wed night and had no issue with parking. When we walked in, it was pretty dead after 8 pm. I had the Cali burrito, queso fries, churros, and horchata. Btw this is not anything new. In fact, I had my first Cali burrito in Naperville at Invicto 6 years ago. Apparently, it's very new to many folks. I chose beef brisket (cost a little extra) and spicy. Portion size is decent if you have a short lunch. Taste was good, it was warm, and there was an ample amount of avocado. I recommend getting a side with it. Queso fries were very tasty. Fries were well seasoned and the melted queso provided additional savoriness. Churros they gave me an order of 2. Light dessert with sufficient amount of cinnamon. Horchata was decent, not as good as some of the others I had but still worth a purchase. Decor is nothing fancy but you can see the Mexican influence. I saw many reviews comparing this to Chipotle. Other than the burrito part and bowls, there aren't many similarities. It's more of a cross between Chipotle and your typical fast food place. You walk in, look up at the menu, and choose what you want. There aren't any foods presented in front of you like Subway/Chipotle/Bibibop. Service was good. They kept the place pretty clean.

** Super Kind Service ** ** Awesome Look and Feel ** ** Delicious Breakfast ** I had wanted to come to Gozman y Gomez since I first saw it. Their branding is on point and I love stuff like that. I've had the pleasure to come a few times now and I have to say it's pretty good. For the price? This is were it's a little iffy for me personally. The service at this location has been impeccable! I'm kind of taken aback by how kind and attentive the staff had been. Can they train every other business, lol. The service may bring back for breakfast! Thanks GyG!

We went for lunch today and had never been before. It was about 1:15pm and the drive thru was clear. The rep on the other end was so nice taking our order. We got a vegetarian cali burrito and a vegetarian burrito. The difference is French fries in the cali and rice in the regular. They were so nice and giving us extra sauces (obviously our favorite). We loved the meal and will definitely go again. We would ask for more French fries as we didn't really notice any in our burrito but didn't deter us from finishing.

I've been coming to this place for a long time now and every time I have exceptional service and their food ALWAYS tastes amazing! Today I was asked by Fahad, while eating, if everything is okay and if I need anything else. We had a little conversation about life and I decided to write a review to recognize him! There is not many people in these days who truly care about the others, can look into your eyes and are willing to share some stories - I appreciate you Fahad - you carry the light - keep it shining!!! Great place to have healthy mexican food, comfortable dining area, good music, people who care - highly recommend to visit.

Been passing by tgis place and I have alwaya been intrigued and wanted to try it. So tonight i got a chance to and was really disappointed. I ordered 4x Tacos 2 grilled chicken and 2 flamed grilled angus steak. The chicken was ok. The steak was too salty. I also ordered their fries which was also a bit salty. Their Queso was a bit sour and i dont know if it was because of the picadillo. The place has nice decoration and ambiance was great. The service was ok. Felt like they were sooo busy but the restaurant wasnt full. Maybe take out and delivery? The cashier is running around preparing and delivering orders and so there was a wait before he took the order. They also didnt ask what kind of tortilla you wanted. Its not a great experience. And I dont think im going back anytime soon. Happy eating!

We ordered 3 chicken tacos, a steak burrorito (burrito), a house margarita, and 2 beers. The tab was around $69+ tip. Service was great! Melissa was attentive and friendly, plus staff topped up our chips for the free chip/salsa (which was tasty) and kept the table clear of plates and glasses we were finished with. Trouble is with the back of the house. The chicken in the tacos had little-to-no seasoning. The burrito's primary ingredient was refried beans and there was very little chicken in it. This added to my annoyance, as I'd ordered a steak burrito, which was (I believe) a $7 upgrade. As my wife was well into her first taco before I stumbled upon the first piece of chicken, I opted to just accept the burrito as-is. (Not the servers fault, as the receipt clearly listed steak burrito) The house margarita is said to contain the following- "Lime juice, Gran Gala orange liqueur, and simple syrup". I used to work in a Mexican restaurant and the margarita tasted just like low-rent sweet/sour mix margaritas. If noise is a problem for you, the bar noise was very loud, despite the fact we were seated in a booth on the far opposite side. Would not recommend and will not return.

I was torn between a chicken mole dinner or just good old tacos. I opted for the tacos Al pastor with rice and beans. I have had Al pastor at many, many places, and it's been interesting to see people's takes on the recipes. These were, hands down, the best I've had anywhere. The meat was charred nicely, yet tender. The marinade/sauce had the perfect balance between the sweetness of the pineapple and the counterbalance of the lime, cilantro, and onion. I was so proud of my selection, that I ordered some to-go for my daughter to try. I also had a delicious strawberry margarita and finished off with a tres leches dessert. Everything was superb! I'll be back for that mole someday, and will also try their Taco Tuesday. Judging from my food, as well as the presentations of others choices that I noticed, I believe their chef is seriously talented and creative.

So, one fine day I was picking up some dry cleaning down Roselle, and as I turned onto Schaumburg Rd to head home, I saw this place- remembered I was hungry- and promptly turned in! I got there just before 5pm, and was - by all accounts - their first customer of the night! I asked to sit on the patio, and (because I had to ask) checked to see if the patio was dog-friendly - it is! Hmm. Gotta bring puppy next time! The young lady sat me down, brought over a drinks menu and a food menu, and I promptly ordered a Cadillac Cocktail! Oh my! It was BIG- and GOOD. Damn! Highly recommended! A bowl of warm chips and salsa came right on it - on the house- and I began munching away while I pondered the menu. So - I decided on the Enchiladas Suizas with verde sauce! Oh - and with a choice of meat (I chose ground beef, but pollo was also on the board too!). As I was slowly drinking the Cadillac and munching on the chips, I gotta say I liked the THICK chips and the salsa had a nice little kick to it. If that's what you like? You'll LIKE it! My enchiladas suizas came out piping hot a short time later, and I began munchin' 'em down! VERY nice! If you like friendly, prompt service AND good food and drink? HIGHLY recommend you stop on it!

It was incredibly loud--constant booming house music that made it difficult to have a conversation. We politely asked if the volume could be turned down, especially since the restaurant wasn't busy, but were told it was for all the customers and they wouldn't adjust it. It's a shame because the food is so good, but the atmosphere made it hard to enjoy. I can't help but wonder if the loud music has driven away other customers as well. If they toned down the music, this would easily be one of our favorite Mexican restaurants.

So, I stopped in during the week, just after lunch time and found this little hole-in-the wall of a restaurant conveniently nestled in a shopping center next to the local Walmart. Even though I walked in and the restaurant was completely empty, the pure vibrancy of the decor and the cheerfulness of the staff encouraged me to stay. Not to mention that the aroma making its way out from the kitchen was absolutely mouth-watering. I took a seat at the bar while I perused the menu and was delighted in the simplicity of it. You know the food is about to be fire when the menu is simple and a restaurant focuses on what it does well. In addition to the excellent service, the food was absolutely phenomenal. I started off with some chips and salsa.... which was delightfully flavorful and perfectly crisp. Then, I had a bowl of the tortilla soup. Each spoonful was like deja vu. Each bite made me feel like I was in my grandmother's kitchen as a little girl all over again. The broth was perfectly seasoned and each bite came with a chunk of chicken and an assortment of veggies... truly perfecto! Once I was done with the appetizers, I made my decision to try two tacos from the menu. The first was a salmon taco--and it didn't TASTE FISHY. It was grilled to perfection and then paired with an unexpected yet delicious topping of crispy potato strings and chipotle aioli. I ate every bite of this. It was the perfect combination of crunch and flavor, I just couldn't get enough. Then I also ordered the carne asada a cabron taco. Simple, yet dynamically flavorful. I was so full at this point but took this one home to eat at a later time. Still as amazing as the day I ordered it i'm sure. While I neglected to have any desserts or margaritas here, I was assured that they are just as remarkable as anything else. I had a wonderful meal, excellent service and I greatly look forward to going back if i'm ever in the area again for work. 10/10 Highly recommend!!
