We were greeted immediately and they were ready to take our order. The gentleman that took our order was really friendly and helpful as we have a person in our party that is allergic to gluten. He ensured that the staff changed gloves and opened new cheese and lettuce to ensure no cross contamination. We ordered the a couple of $2.50 tacos, mini California burrito (veggie), a steak California Burrito, 3 veggie soft corn tortillas, 1 chicken and 1 ground beef soft corn tortilla tacos. Fries and tortilla chips. When we got our order we drove to my mother's house I noticed they made a mistake and only gave us 1 veggie taco versus 3. As far as taste, the tacos were good as usual. The veggie taco and fries were delicious. The steak burrito didn't have a good proportion of ingredients They were lacking the steak. The salsa flavors (chipotle and habanero) were very tasty. The $2,50 crunchy tacos has seasoning on the outside. Chips were fresh and were not salty. The French fries have seasoning on them and were good. Other than the mistake on the order and lack of steak the food was very good. I appreciated the fact that they were very careful handling the food with the allergy. In fairness, I will admit that the burrito I had was tasty, but it was fall-apart messy, and served tightly wrapped in foil, which was awkward to remove. It peeled off in pieces. It was served in a small cradle (best word I can find for it), which was hardly larger than the burrito itself, and was insufficient to contain the components as they fell apart, making a mess. It was not a pleasant eating experience. They did, on a condiments table, have some habanero and other sauces, which was nice. I don't think I'll be motivated to go back to any of their places. I tried Guzman y Gomez in Schaumburg recently - it was just okay. I think of this restaurant as a Chipotle/Qdoba except not as tasty. I tried the steak burrito - it was wrapped up pretty well and a lot of toppings but you can tell the steak has been sitting a bit it was just warm not hot. They do have a nice condiment station inside with 3 different hot sauces, cilantro, onion and pickled Jalepano which was cool. Service was always pretty friendly. Overall, it's just okay. But I'd go to a chipotle or Qdoba over this place for sure (or an authentic Mexican restaurant). read more

Great for the whole family - we came with two adults and two very young children! We've never been but have seen the one close to us in Naperville so were excited to try this out. We ended up ordering the kids quesadilla meal, which came with fries, 2 quesadillas and a drink and a burrito bowl meal, which came with nachos and a drink. I thought the pricing was decent, seems similar to other restaurants, and you get a good quanity of food. I got the chicken burrito bowl and it was filled with rice, beans, chicken and had some chips on the side. I thought it was quite tasty and is similar to what I usually get from Chipotle. The kids meal was also quite tasty and the kids enjoyed. They also have a hot sauce, onion, hot pepper and cilantro condiment bar which was really nice. Getting a Cali burrito is always a great occasion, and this establishment's offering isn't too bad for what you get. You can fill it with chicken, ground beef, steak, pork, beef brisket, and sauted vegetables. The flour tortilla wasn't mushy and had a decent texture. I had the steak, and it was pretty flavorful, but I was hoping for a bit more steak on it. I really appreciated their salsa station. My favorite condiments from it were the pickled jalapeños, smoky Chipotle, and roasted jalapeños. There is a bit for everyone's taste, so that's a plus. Location was easy to find. I came on Wed night and had no issue with parking. When we walked in, it was pretty dead after 8 pm. I had the Cali burrito, queso fries, churros, and horchata. Btw this is not anything new. In fact, I had my first Cali burrito in Naperville at Invicto 6 years ago. Apparently, it's very new to many folks. I chose beef brisket (cost a little extra) and spicy. Portion size is decent if you have a short lunch. Taste was good, it was warm, and there was an ample amount of avocado. I recommend getting a side with it. Queso fries were very tasty. Fries were well seasoned and the melted queso provided additional savoriness. Churros they gave me an order of 2. Light dessert with sufficient amount of cinnamon. Horchata was decent, not as good as some of the others I had but still worth a purchase. Decor is nothing fancy but you can see the Mexican influence. I saw many reviews comparing this to Chipotle. Other than the burrito part and bowls, there aren't many similarities. It's more of a cross between Chipotle and your typical fast food place. We went for lunch today and had never been before. It was about 1:15pm and the drive thru was clear. The rep on the other end was so nice taking our order. We got a vegetarian cali burrito and a vegetarian burrito. The difference is French fries in the cali and rice in the regular. They were so nice and giving us extra sauces (obviously our favorite). I ordered 4x Tacos 2 grilled chicken and 2 flamed grilled angus steak. The chicken was ok. The steak was too salty. I also ordered their fries which was also a bit salty. Their Queso was a bit sour and i dont know if it was because of the picadillo. The place has nice decoration and ambiance was great. The service was ok. Felt like they were sooo busy but the restaurant wasnt full. Maybe take out and delivery? Well, all the Taco Bells in the area stopped serving breakfast, and the Qdoba closed, so this is what you've got now. Drive thru Chipotle. GYG is an Australian restaurant chain branching out to the US, and if there's one thing Australia is known for, it's Tex Mex cuisine. -_- Generally, service has always been pretty good every time we've gone, staff has been friendly, and they avoided the rushed barrage of "ANYTHING ELSE? ANYTHING ELSE?" after every item you request that plagues many drive thru eateries. It's just kind of bland. I tend to have a fridge door full of hot sauces stocked at all times, so I usually just take it home and dump a bunch of sauce on it. That helps. The quality is pretty good, it just isn't all that flavorful. Hash browns are pretty good, though. But if you're craving a breakfast burrito and are too lazy to get out of your car, this is an option. And yes, I know there's a Chipotle with a drive thru, but you have to order ahead of time using the app, and I just can't handle that kind of commitment. read more

Fillers.... I'll start by saying I'm an Elite Yelper and I was fortunate enough to get a free burrito here. The burrito they gave me was the California burrito. You really don't get any choices except the meat they put in the burrito. I assume they are giving us the California burrito because maybe that's their best burrito....not sure. I don't know if all the burritos are like this, but after I but into it I realized it was mostly French fries inside. Why would you ever put French fries in a burrito. Maybe if they sold a "hangover" burrito I could understand but not their best burrito. I don't think it even had cheese inside. Chicken,steak,beef,pork.some with an upcharge. They also offer fries,chips and churros along with Mexican beers,frozen margarita ,Mexican soft drinks and more. We had the Burrito Bowl meal and the Cali burrito. We both ordered Spicey but both entrees were not Spicey at all. They do offer 3 different salsas at their self-serve bar area which did add spice to our meals.Roasted jalapeno and Habanero. Staff checked on us twice to make sure everything was OK which was a nice added touch..staffing does not seem to be an issue. They serve breakfast,lunch and dinner and there was a steady flow of customers while we were there. When we first walked in the menu board is all digital and there are two registers and they are working quickly which is great! They have a mini combo for $8 and a large combo for $10. My husband ordered the large combo (burrito bowl) it came with a cup of fries and a large drink. I ordered 1x hard shell steak taco and 1x soft shell steak taco. The flour taco is bigger and has more filling... however the hard shell taco has a crunch and taste that had me craving more. I would say it is about 1/2 the size of the soft flour tortilla but double the taste! Normally I am not a fan of hard shell tacos but the photo on the menu board looked so good that I had to order one. Make sure you get a good grip on the shell because with the first bite it broke into pieces but it managed to still stay together for another bite. I did not mind finishing it with a fork... it was amazing! So good that my husband and I ordered two more each... yum! They have beer and a frozen margarita machine and a coke fountain machine. There is cilantro, onions, and salsa bar area to add to your food if desired. The prices are higher then most Mexican fast food restaurants but the flavor makes up for it! If Qdoba and Chipotle give you too much food, then you will like it here because the burrito bowls are smaller. You order and receive a number and they bring your food to the table. There is a drive thru and pickup area too. I recommend dining here. There are about 8 tables along a large booth type bench attached to the wall. Some are pushed together to seat 4 people... but you can separate them if needed. There are 4 booths along the opposite wall, and two large high tables that seat 8 people each.
