The atmosphere was so cool. Old western with an open kitchen. The server was great she recommended the tenderloin for me. It was delicious. Cooked just right. And my son had the pork tacos. He said they were delicious. I loved the experience.

New York strip with baked potato

One of the best steak houses in my opinion in DFW within the stockyards. I got the New York strip, medium rare, cooked to perfection. My boss got the filet at medium which looked fantastic. The feel of the restaurant has a feel of Mexican restaurant and a steakhouse so it's pretty interesting. The service there was A+ too. I'll be back!

Stopped in for a quick lunch and everything was yummy. We had the smoked salsa and homemade chips, burger with fries, and mexicali steak special. Yum! Good service and fun interior!

H3 located in the stockyards is a cozy restaurant and bar with an impressive tequila list with a variety of margaritas and ice cold beer served in frozen margarita bowl. The burnt ends come tossed in BBQ sauce that isn't too sweet and just a little tangy, over all these are made with a better cut of meat than I am Used to. The table side guacamole for one is a single avocado that when paired with their fire roasted salsa and queso is the perfect amount for two people. The fire roasted salsa has just the right amount of heat. Bar side of the restaurant has saddles as bar stools which is neat.

We stopped here for lunch on a Saturday. We didn't have a reservation but we were able to get seated straight away. The service was prompt and we quickly put in our drink orders (a mango & pineapple margarita for me and a beer for my other half). The margarita was a little sweeter than I was expecting, and didn't seem like it had much tequila in it, but it was nice enough. We then put in our food orders; I went for the catfish (with spinach as my side as I had seen good reviews of this) and my partner had the chicken fried steak. Food arrived quickly but my dish was extremely disappointing. The catfish had no flavour at all (even after putting lemon, salt and pepper on it) and I would say it is the worst catfish I have ever had. The spinach came with some sort of gravy/cheese sauce and I really didn't like this either, my partner did eat it though so I think my dislike of this is more personal preference. My partners dish was great though (he said it was the best chicken fried steak he has had) and the fries were awesome (they could have used some of the seasoning on the fries in the catfish dish). If you are just looking for a casual lunch spot, with large portions, then this place would be fine. I probably wouldn't return though as I think there are better spots in the area. Total bill, including tax and tip, came to c$80 which we thought was reasonable.

Located in the heart of the Fort Worth stockyards, this restaurant's western decor looks tired. The positives: the table side guacamole was very good, the hot bread and baked potato were very good also. The neutrals: the prices are fair, the steaks we ordered (flaming filet and a rib eye) were just ok. I ordered the filet medium and honestly it came as medium-rare. That was satisfactory with me as many times that is how I order steaks. The negatives: mostly the service. It was not busy whatsoever when we were there. Approximately 1/4 of the tables had diners. We ordered the table side guacamole and told the waitress we preferred not to order the main dish at the same time. We do not like hurriedly eating an appetizer or placing it aside because the main course arrives too soon. She literally told us, that we needed to order at the same time and gave the excuse "it takes awhile to make the table side guacamole and we also wouldn't have the menus in the way" ?!?! Never had I have a server state that at any restaurant. That was definitely an atmosphere changing experience. The conclusion: it's touristy and just OK.

I brought an out-of-town guest here for the ambiance and good food. It's been a while since I've been here. Not as nice as I remember. They walked us to the end of the row of booths- right across from the grill and buzz of activity - worst table in the place, most likely. I tried to keep the conversation off the fact that we were likely at the worst table, while other tables were open. And at that, the service wasn't great - mostly because the young lady who was to be our server, dumped us on someone else. He salvaged it as best he could and earned his 20% tip. He was friendly, didn't rush us and went to the trouble to be sure he brought me the best Scotch he could find - Dewar's 12yr old. Not what I wanted, but they didn't have it. I had the filet lunch, very good and cooked properly. A few disappointments here. With Cattlemen's around the corner, I think my friend would probably have appreciated that more. Just because we're not sexy young girls doesn't mean we deserve to be stuck in the back and passed around. I'm a snotty Dallas diner who expects and pays for a nice dining experience. I doubt I'll be back here for some time. Ha, and I'll be even older then!

Mind blown. Visited my friends in Fort Worth who rolled out the red carpet for a true Texas experience. Llowelyn and Joel are big time foodies and they did not disappoint bringing me here. What an amazing dining experience. High quality steaks with all the fixings. Cooked to perfection. Fun and authentic environment. Cool decor. Clean bathroom. But let's talk about the real star for this evening. My friends are cool and all, but Megan our server stole the show at dinner. She was quick, super friendly, funny as heck, and all around a pleasure to have with our party. Our glasses were never empty. Then she recommended dessert and she came through! Ice cream pie with forks to share. Yes please order the dessert and bring a friend to help you eat it. I hope to return to Texas in the future and dine in this fine establishment again. Thank you H3 and thank you Megan.

Hadn't been here in a while but went on a Sunday to meet up with some friends for lunch. Started out saddled up (literally) to the bar with their classic Malone margarita (SO good!) then moved to a table to order food. The guacamole was just 'meh'. Not very flavorful and almost whipped in texture. Very mushy. We had the chicken fried steak with fries (ask for extra seasoning!) and could've split one plate between us as our friends did. We both had really been craving CFS and thus hit the spot! The pecan pie with whipped cream was delicious. Service was very good and if you aren't used to Cowboy culture, you're going to LOVE the decor. Be sure to go next door to see the Stockyards Hotel.

You normally can't make a reservation for here. We normally wait at the hotel next door & get drinks from the bar during our wait. We used to love this place & come here for my mom's birthday every year, but it seems like it gets worse every time we come. We sat down and the waitress didn't ask if we wanted any appetizers & only asked 2/5 of us if we wanted water. She came back & took the drinks we ordered from the bar & didn't ask if we wanted refills on any of them. We ate all the bread she gave us & she never asked if we needed anymore. When we received our food, 3/5 of us got baked potatoes but only 1 of us was asked if we wanted filling (cheese, sour cream, chives). You can see in the picture below that I didn't get any. When we ordered desert, she took all of our plates & only gave us extra spoons. Only after we finished the dessert did she ask if we wanted any drinks. We ordered our drinks & she gave them to us in to go cups after clearly wanting us to leave. Note to be careful ordering your steaks because the ones pictured were ordered as medium rare. They tend to have very rare steaks here. Prime rib is a definite go to if they have it, but they always seem to be out. They were out of about 5 menu items during our most recent visit. Don't know if we'll be coming back next year or anytime soon. This was a huge let down and the service is not worth the price we paid for food here.

9oz filet mignon with a baked potato
    Anna H.

I ordered the filet mignon and it came with a salad and baked potato for around $50 which I thought was a pretty good deal for a good steak! I ordered it cooked medium and it was cooked perfectly. The photo doesn't include the fixings on my potato but the server comes around with sour cream, cheese, and, chives which made the potato even better.

    Amazing steak and service

Excellent steak service is very very good cleanliness couldn't ask for a better place to eat reasonable price

Margarita glasses and beer are your typical XL sizes. I got the Grand Margarita - or something it was called. Good, a bit sugary I ordered a steak medium well, tasty. A good amount of food for the cost

Anyone have recommendations for parking? Like how far or close can you park to H3, do they have their own lot or is there public lot, within reasonable walking distance?

Their is a lot next to Tecovas. I believe it's about $15 for 12 hours. Pretty close.

The ambiance and overall aesthetic are incredible, casual yet modern, with a classy upscale feel. From the moment you sit down, they set the tone by bringing out a complimentary glass of champagne, which is such a nice touch. They also bring fresh popovers (made fresh upon request), and they're always a great start to the meal. For appetizers, we ordered the hamachi crudo and oysters. The hamachi never disappoints, and the oysters were incredibly fresh and delicious. For our main course, we typically go with the dry-aged ribeye and a wedge salad. The ribeye is easily one of my favorite steaks in DFW, consistently cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. While the food is always excellent, the service is what truly sets Wicked Butcher apart. The staff is consistently attentive, warm, and genuinely invested in making the experience feel special. To top off the evening, they surprised us with a complimentary dessert for my fiancé's birthday, and it was fantastic. One of the most impressive things about Wicked Butcher is that the pricing feels very fair for the level of quality, service, and overall experience. It delivers a high-end steakhouse experience without feeling outrageously expensive. Highly recommend.

The swank, Art Deco atmosphere matches the hotel perfectly, but the food is the real star. For lunch, the Wicked Burger was phenomenal. Built with cheddar, caramelized onions, mushrooms, and a rich sauce on a toasted sesame brioche bun, it hits every savory note perfectly. The rest of the table was equally thrilled with their choices, including the French Dip (loaded with caramelized onions, provolone, and horseradish-garlic aioli on a baguette with a stellar au jus) and the crisp Steak Cobb salad. The truffle fries were a massive hit and a frequent topic of conversation around the table, and even the fountain Diet Coke was perfectly calibrated. I'd be completely remiss if I didn't mention the monster rolls brought out for the table--they are giant, incredibly airy, golden popovers served with a spectacular rosemary honey butter that steals the show before the main course even arrives. For breakfast, I wanted to stay on the healthier side and ordered the Sinclair Breakfast with chicken sausage. The sausage delivered incredible flavor with a perfect, distinct peppery bite. The plate was beautifully balanced with delicate microgreens, and the breakfast potatoes were a total standout--perfectly executed with a great outer char and deep flavor. Paired with excellent, robust Lavazza drip coffee, it was a flawless start to the morning. Across both visits, the staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and highly attentive with beverage refills. Top-tier service, great quality, and an absolute must-visit in Fort Worth.

First of all, this place is massive. We both started with the espresso martini before realizing they had a happy hour menu. Our second drink was from the hh menu even though we had no business having a second cocktail. To start, we shared the fried green tomatoes. Not a true "Japanese wagyu" texture, but still an excellent steak overall. - Sides (mashed potatoes, fries, broccolini, cornbread): All pretty good across the board. The fried mushrooms were meh for me, and the salad was ok. That said, the bread that comes with the meal is excellent, and the creamed spinach was very good. I think they could step up their ranch game. The steak, though, absolutely stole the show. We ordered the Cattlemen's Porterhouse. It is a very large steak and easily enough for two people. You really just need to order an extra salad and maybe one or two sides. Ours was a little undercooked, but we did not send it back. We ate it and were still very, very happy with it. We also had the onion ring appetizer, which was excellent. They are onion rings, so don't go in expecting some world-changing event, but they were very good. Sweet onions, cooked well, and served with barbecue sauce and ranch. Do yourself a favor and skip the barbecue sauce. Get double ranch. I travel extensively for work, eat out often, and have been fortunate to visit some of the nicest steakhouses in the country. Maybe this was a one-time fluke, but gosh darn it, that steak was amazing. It is cooked over a wood-fired grill and has an incredible smoky char. The flaky salt they put on top after grilling just sets it off. It was phenomenally well seasoned. I highly recommend Cattlemen's. House music did not distract from the presentation. in fact, I can't even remember if there was any music. BLACK TIE MARGARITA- 5/5. Great service from bar! APPETIZERS: calamari with peppers (4/5) - a dipping sauce would have made it 5/5 just because I'm not a big calamari fan but theirs is really good. Prosciutto wrapped mozzarella - 5/5 Bread basket with variety breads - 5/5 - warm, fresh, delicious, served with salted butter Blue Cheese WEDGE SALAD - 5/5 Large portion, two pieces of thick cut bacon (they could get away with one piece halved), large chunks of blue cheese, really good dressing. MEAL: FILET MIGNON- 5/5 - so tender I was able to cut my leftovers with a butter knife the next day. Cooked to order. Perfectly seasoned. Mashed potatoes- 3/5 - a little runny for my preference but the flavor was good. Asparagus - 4/5 DESSERT: They served a platter with flourless chocolate cake 4/5 - good but extremely rich. One bite was enough for me. Coconut cream pie - 5/5- sooooo good! Cheesecake - 5/5

Capital Grille does it for me every time…read more I even came during the Wagyu and Wine event, and when I tell you that was the best burger I've ever had, I mean it. It was so good that I went back again the same week just to have it one more time. On my most recent visit, I had what I believe was the beet and goat cheese salad, and it was easily the best thing I ordered. Absolutely 10/10. I also tried the oysters. They were on the smaller side and tasted okay. I'd give them a 5/10. For my entrée, I had the scallops. The flavor combination was interesting and overall very good, but it felt like it was missing something that I couldn't quite put my finger on. I'd give that dish an 8/10. Overall, Capital Grille is one of my favorite places to dine. The atmosphere is relaxed, the service is consistently excellent, and the food is always high quality. I'll keep going back every chance I get. Highly recommend.

At Reata diners are just "plain folks" who are hungry. The booze will knock the wind out of you. For supper, we both had chicken fried steak and extra to take home. I had the plate of greens with pecans! Delicious! Since this was our anniversary I had the best ever banana pudding with a Texas shaped cookie. Total for two: $120 That's not outrageous! That's 21st Century ! Go to Reata. I insist.

Every time , except once, when I leave I say I'm not going back there again. But, invariably, friends will invite us to go there with them, and off we go. But it's the same old story. Case in point: we went there two weeks ago on a Friday night with friends. My wife and I each had a cocktail with happy hour pricing, one glass of wine each, and two mediocre appetizers. The bill was $118. I'm giving two stars instead of one because the service and ambiance are okay. I don't think Reata lives up to its reputation. A management review of their menu and pricing is in order.
