This visit to The Habit at Mission Business Park really stood out thanks to outstanding service and an unexpectedly delicious dessert. My wife ordered the teriyaki burger and noticed it was missing tomatoes. She politely asked and the server explained they were out. Totally understandable, though my wife had that classic "awww" reaction, bummed but completely understanding. If there's one thing about my wife, she loves tomatoes on everything. The server felt genuinely bad and went above and beyond by coming back with a whole fresh tomato, asking if my wife would still like some. We joked that it either came from Mendocino Farms next door or there's a secret garden hidden in the back, lol. A minute later, she returned with two thick slices on a small plate and my wife's face lit up. That thoughtful gesture truly made our meal. This is coming from two people who had a rough day at work! The second highlight was discovering that The Habit sells hot fudge sundaes. It instantly reminded me of the classic McDonald's vanilla hot fudge sundae, remember when those were a dollar? They're about $3.69 plus tax now and have definitely suffered from shrinkflation, feeling much smaller than I remember. (That's a different review for another place). The Habit's version tastes just as good, if not better, and comes in a much more generous size using their vanilla soft serve, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, and nuts. It was ABSOLUTELY delicious. The price difference is that it's about $5.89 here but it's served on one of their milkshake cups which is comparable to I believe a size medium cup that is a lot of Sundae to indulgence and I enjoyed every bite. The burgers are always solid, but this visit was elevated by kindness and attention to detail. Experiences like this are why we'll be coming back more often. I frequent this little plaza quite often due to my daughter being obsessed with a neighboring business. With me needing dinner, I made the decision to hit up Habit Burger & Grill. Service was good. Upon arrival, I was immediately greeted. There was a slight line but the staff worked extremely well in moving things along. I placed an order for a Double Char Burger w/ Cheese Combo. My ex-worker ordered the charburger combo meal while I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich combo with strawberry lemonade. Our order was placed on a self-service tablet that was located on the right side of the restaurant. We waited about 15 min before our order was ready. No comment on the charburger since I don't eat beef. As for my chicken sandwich, I thought it was just okay. It was a thin-cut of chicken and the exterior was super crispy but the meat tasted somewhat rubbery. If it wasn't for the saucy coleslaw that was part of the sandwich, I wouldn't be able to digest this sandwich. As for the fries, they forgot to season it with salt, which is what I prefer but my ex-coworker wouldn't eat it without salt. Out of the whole meal, I did enjoy the strawberry lemonade. It was quite refreshing and it tasted like it was made with real lemonsand not something artificial. It is clean, with easy access to drink refill, condiments, utensils and napkins. It is easy to order via app or in store kiosk, with the option to order from a team member if you wanted to. BAJA CRISPY FISH SANDWICH This was a different take on the fish sandwich offerings from other restaurants with pickled onions, coleslaw, and a beer battered fish patty. It was interesting yet the pickled onions overwhelmed any of the beer flavored fish flavor and the coleslaw was very creamy crunchy at which point you could hardly tell if there was any fish by taste or texture. Blindfolded you could put a potato patty or hash brown and wouldn't really be able to tell the difference. Trying to eat just the fish patty well I couldn't really tell if it was beer battered because of the pickled onions covered that flavor. CHEESY STREET CORN TOTS. Was very crispy, I could taste the corn, the flavor of the cheese was very mild. It's not something I would order again. But it's something you could order if you want something crunchy for an excuse to eat ranch dressing. OVERALL I don't know - I would probably come again to try something else, just not what I ordered. MAYBE If you were to order the Baja crispy fish sandwich with coleslaw and onions on the side it would be better or if you customized to remove those for tartar sauce or something. Well color me surprised that this place is somehow hanging on to three stars on Yelp! Not that there's a shortage of places I can go to get an overpriced burger (looking at you Hash'n'Dash) in the Bay Area, but The Habit used to feel semi-worth it. Maybe it's this location, but my expectations were completely unmet at my last visit. I paid almost $20 for a single patty cheeseburger meal (with a regular fries and bottled water), that I ordered and customized myself at their kiosk. The nerve that they have to have the SELF-service kiosk ask me for a tip is a clear indicator of how they feel about their clientele, and why is the *minimum* recommended tip 15%??? After waiting for my meal I approached the counter to collect my tray, with my drink noticeably absent. When the employee watching me evaluate my tray and I made eye contact I said "I think there was a bottle of water" (as it was clearly printed on the order ticket on the tray). Well instead of whatever you would expect to be met with that comment, being blankly stared at by the employee while we shared an awkward silence was not near the top of my list of responses. With no indication or confirmation from her I looked around and helped myself to a bottle from a cooler at the end of the counter. Well I sat down to my meal and picked up my burger which looked like it was hit from a shrink-ray, and noticed that I didn't receive the normal side of ranch with my fries, like everyone else at my table. I asked at the counter for one and they said "THEY'RE $0.65". Okay, that's fine, I went back to my table and helped myself to some free ketchup. I'll grant them despite the minuscule scale, the burger was decent and the fries were fresh(ish). A lunch worth at least half of what I paid for it! I'll let my photos speak for the rest of my review. Clearly whoever is in charge is making sure to hire people that care as little as they do about their restaurant (and probably even less about their customers). It'll be a while until I find the urge to come back here; but it'll be no time at all before I'm glad I hunted down that zero-tip option. read more

This has got to be the worst Habit in the south bay, possibly the entire bay area. They close early for your inconvenience, I got the caesar salad with added bacon and they gave me browned lettuce (which also came shredded unlike other locations), they were shady with the ranch sauce even though it was included with my order, service is non-existent (I was tempted to go behind the counter and pick up my order myself as I saw it sitting there on a tray without any employee in sight), and 2 of the 3 self-order kiosks were broken. The saving grace this past Sunday was their tempura green beans which were hot, crispy, and delicious, consistent with what I usually get at other Habit restaurants. I'm giving a very generous 3 stars cuz I believe that most of the issues I mentioned are easily fixable. But I probably won't be returning to this location anytime soon. read more

I've been going to The Habit Burger Grill for a while now, and it's a solid spot for a quick fix. I love using their app to order ahead it really saves me time, especially during lunch rushes when I can just pick up without waiting in line. The food is decent; the charburgers are flavorful and the fries are always hot and crispy. Service-wise, it's neither great nor terrible just average, with staff getting the job done without much enthusiasm or issues. What truly makes this place special is the service especially Stefanie. She is incredibly welcoming, patient, and genuinely kind. She knows the menu so well and always helps with food choices, including healthier options. I ordered the impossible burger and it was so good! I also ordered onion rings but the cashier miss heard me and gave me green beans. I had read good things about the green beans so decided to stick with them and I'm glad I did! Everything tasted very fresh and was seasoned well. There was hardly anyone in there so service was quick but could be more friendly. They also offer a good selection of condiments like chilis, sauces, etc. inside was very clean too. My SO and I have heard and seen many of The Habit Burger Grill establishments all around the South Bay Area so we finally gave it a try since we were craving burgers and fries. PARKING Private lot with plenty of parking. The Mission Park plaza is fairly newer and isn't as busy. SERVICE There are 3 kiosks to order. Pick up at the counter. Minimal interaction with employees during our visit. FOOD We both ordered the #1 Original Charburger Meal, which comes with fries and a fountain drink. It's an all American burger with quality ingredients: seeded bun, slice of cheese, tomatoes, pickle slices, lettuce, chopped caramelized grilled onions, and Mayo. The patty isn't really thick so I recommend getting the double. Overall, the burger patty was very bland IMO. I added ketchup and mustard but it didn't hit my palate as it should. The fries are a thicker cut and I needed them to be much more crispier. There's so much potato filling, they could've used a little longer in the fryer. Overall, decent burger joint. Unfortunately, burger and fries cravings were not satisfied. Nothing exciting. The chopped grilled onions really saved the burger. read more

At this location (minus sides) Char Burger w/ Cheese Ahi Tuna Filet Chicken Club Sandwich Other locations (minus sides) Double char w/ cheese Veggie Burger *review for this location* Never dined in but their to-go pick up orders through their app are always easy and on time. Don't forget to ask for your drink cup if you got a combo or a side drink. It's usually not available for grabs when picking up. The usual order has been: Char burger w/ cheese. Sides: fries or onion rings I don't know which is more random, ordering the Ahi Filet or the veggie burger. Probably the Ahi Filet and surprisingly it was a lot better than I expected. I would order this again. Yes weird at a burger joint but it was good!! The tuna was thick and not overcooked which I was expecting tbh. Who joined the chicken club sandwich freebie?? This location only recently opened up. I'm still a fan of the classics: the Charburger with fries. The sweet potato fries are my favorite. Honestly the charburger is so consistent that it is worth ordering every time, as long as you don't get tired of it. I tried the Santa Barbara "sandwich," and it just wans't the same. Ingredients were super fresh though. The milkshake does not have the smooth consistency that you would expect, but still tastes pretty darn good. Nowadays you can order on the mobile app and come pick up. Since everything is made fresh, that is probably the way to go, so you can avoid wait times. It can get packed in here. read more

Very happy that this location opened! I attended one of the pre-opening events and visited again when they were officially open. Things seemed to run smoothly and I never would've guessed that they hadn't even been open for a week. You can order from one of a few kiosks and there's both indoor and outdoor seating. Staff is friendly. My char burger and fries tasted exactly the same as when I order at other locations. I responded saying I have no "additional" feedback besides what I've already sent via the feedback form in their email, which they just totally ignored. I don't really need burgers with grilled onions, so I asked them if they promise to honor "simple" customizations which they actually offer in the app, and they stopped responding. Far less crowded than the location off el Camino but that might change as people discover this newest location. Had the chicken sando and it was crispy and freshly fried. I got a Caesar Salad with Fried Chicken to-go. I used The Habit app to order (which is so convenient) and I ordered for in-store pick up. The food was made before the pick-up time, and the pick-up process was very smooth. I went in and just grabbed my order although no one at the counter checked if it was my order (hopefully no one steals orders haha). The dish tasted very good! I ordered the Caesar dressing on the side because I can control the amount to add in. One thing was that the croutons seemed to have a different seasoning added to it, which I never had on any of my other salads :( It was like a little spicy and way saltier. I will also point out something that has been annoying me about all The Habit locations, when you pay and the registrar ask you how much tip you want to leave. In the wake of $20/hour wages, tat has become annoying! It's easy to be sympathetic and leave a tip when workers are making $7.50/hour, like they were not too long ago, but wen their wages have more than doubled in just a couple years, still expecting a tip is going too far! These workers have gotten their "come up". And never mind that there isn't table service like at restaurants; customers have to walk to the counter and pick up their food, fetch their drinks and bus their own tables, pretty much everything, except cook the food and mop the kitchen floor. read more

I am a big fan of the Habit Burger. I have been going to the ones located in Sunnyvale and Santa Clara (2000 El Camino) for years so I was very excited to see this one open up near me. Unfortunately, I think they're still working things out. For instance, when I arrived, I was greeted with a big Closed sign at the door, but there were clearly patrons inside. Ordering went fairly smooth but when I got my food, the french fries were not crispy despite me ordering it that way. Surprisingly they were also a tad salty. The burger was slightly on the cool side, like they didn't toast the bun as much as the other locations do. I hope these are just growing pains and they figure it out soon otherwise I have to drive further to the other locations. read more

The Habit is an underrated establishment. I mean it has to be clearly within the top ten, or even top five burger joints. I find that most restaurants that offer burgers all taste the same. The burgers in The Habit's menu offer something a little different. There's a taste that's distinctly its own. I can't quite place it, but it surely has to do with their patties, to begin with. The grilling plays another role, and that may be what sets it apart from the other fast food joints. One thing I really like is that you ate able to customize everything in your order direct from their kiosk, or app. Most burger places have limited options when it comes to customizing your food. Then you get a nice array of fountain drinks and a few non-soda options. The sweet potato fries are always a good option just to break from traditional fast food fries. I've tried all their sandwiches and there's really no going wrong with taste. It's just going to be about mood and preference for the day when you make a choice. The free pickled peppers give a delightful palate cleanse for every juicy mouthful you get. Service is fast, movement in the kitchen is efficient, and the associates are always pleasant and professional. Some friends have mentioned that The Habit is a little more expensive than other places, but then again, you get value for money. Always. read more

Service. The food is great how ever the crew in the kitchen are so loud that as if their yelling at each other. It happen last september 9, 2024 at around 5:20pm. We told one of the crew already if they can lower their voice and i understand their having fun but its a resraurant that customers are already annoyed. But they didnt bother to stop.
