I came to Sunnyvale Ca on a business trip, and ran across a Sizzler, what a blast from the past. I haven't seen a Sizzler for decades, I thought they had gone long extinct! My family used to go to Sizzler when I was a kid, back when they were prolific all over the country. My dad used to take us there for a dinner out from time to time, and it brought back tons of memories. Naturally, I HAD to pop in for lunch! Same decor as a remember from my childhood. Virtually the same menu, and salad bar. I ordered the Signature steak and crispy shrimp, which came with their 'famous' cheese toast. $26 for a steak and 6 fried shrimp, plus a side and a fountain drink. I did not order the salad bar, but I did peruse by it for the sake of nostalgia. Overall, it was pretty much as I had remembered it from 30+ years ago. Decent value for your dollar. Certainly not Fleming's or Perry's Grille quality wise, but for $26, hey, I got my moneys worth. Would I come back?? Well, yeah! For a quick lunch at a relatively decent price, it ain't all bad. We went after a long day at the amusement park. The sizzler where we live closed years ago so we were happy to stumble upon this one. We had a large party with 5 kids. The menu selection was perfect for the kids. They all found something they liked and amazingly the all finished their meals. The adults as well. Sizzler has a special place in my heart. As a kid, it was where my immigrant family used to go for "nice" dinners. I have fond memories of the seemingly endless salad bar. Although many Sizzler locations have either greatly declined or closed down completely, this particular location is the best one I've been to in the past decade. My entree arrived hot, the cheese toast perfectly grilled, and the salad bar items refilled often. One of the attendants noticed me returning repeatedly to see if the chicken wings had been replenished and offered to let me know once they were done cooking. Came for the salad bar and had a pleasant experience! Tons of salad options and toppings like cheese, croutons, sunflower seeds, chickpeas, ranch and blue cheese dressing. The soups were ok. I had the broccoli cheddar soup and i've definitely had better. I don't recommend the clam chowder. The complimentary cheese bread is good, but tastes a bit like oil. At the end of my meal, I hit the dessert bar and got some chocolate ice cream and brownies. The brownies were great, and deserve 5 stars themselves. I enjoy coming here for lunch right when it opens to avoid the rush and that's also when everything is fully stocked, clean, and fresh. I always just get the unlimited salad bar which is $16.99 for lunch which I think is a great AYCE deal. There's an assortment of DIY salad options or premade salads, soups, DIY taco, fried chicken, and more. The fried chicken is always a hot commodity and tends to run out fast so be sure to always kept an eye out for them lol. It's not the best fried chicken, but it still is nicely fried and is a good pairing with salad for that extra crunch. My salmon was cooked perfectly it my husband's burger was too salty. I was very impressed with their salad bar. They had 5 kinds of lettuce to choose from, healthy chickpeas, sunflower seeds and a bunch of veggies. There was also a taco bar, chicken wings and soup. Had I known that the salad bar had so much variety and freshly stocked, I would have just stuck to the salad. The food here is decent for the price, the service is adequate, and the restaurant is clean. Setring foot in here is like going through s time warp with the outdated decor and linoleum booths but the food is what people come here and for the price Sizzler delivers I must say. I had a perfectly acceptable and enjoyable ribeye steak with a baked today here today for lunch and I was satisfied. The cheese toast was very greasy but it tasted good and the water was excellent. I know that's a funny thing to say but they must a good filtration system like a Berkey or something cos Sizzler boasts some serious high-quality H2O. Back to the steak... it was cooked right, juicy, seasoned perfectly and it was very tender. For 30 dollars it was perfectly acceptable at that price point. Sizzler brings back a real sense of nostalgia for me as this is where my family and I would come to celebrate birthdays when I was growing up. The restaurant has not changed one bit from the early 2000s. There is plenty of parking around the perimeter of the restaurant. My family and I (7 people total) came on a Saturday evening to celebrate my sister's birthday for old times sake. We arrived at 5:30PM and there was a large party of 10+ in front of us. You place your order at the counter, the cashier gives you the salad bar plates (if applicable) and cups, and then find your own table and seat. It was a bit chaotic finding somewhere to sit as the large party in front of us was also looking for a table at the same time. We ended up finding a 8-top towards the exit of the restaurant. We had to clean up after the patrons that sat there before us as the waitress was no where to be found. There was only one waitress waiting on the entire restaurant. Props to her for keeping her cool throughout the night. This is Sizzler - set your expectations accordingly and don't expect white glove service. I ordered the 12 oz. New York Strip ($22.99) and added the unlimited salad bar for $8.29. The unlimited salad bar alone is $16.99/adult so I feel like it's a fairly priced add-on. The salad station was fresh enough and kept relatively clean. I only made one trip to the salad bar as there was nothing in particular that was calling me back for seconds. There always seemed to be someone waiting around for the clam chowder so they must not fill that one regularly. I'm not a cream based soup gal so I cannot tell you if it was good or not. They still have the hot bar with the build-your-own taco station, spaghetti, and the fried chicken wings. Haven't been to sizzler in years. Gave it a try since in the area and it was not bad. Better than great America food at least. The ribeye was charred perfectly and it was medium rare just as requested. The seasoning was ok. The cheese toast was delicious and unlimited but just think how much calories and unhealthy it was with all the better they use. But it was definitely worth getting a few slices . The bake potato was disappointing as it's pretty plain. I expected bacon bits like a normal steak place. But can't complain for the price. Sizzler is quite the experience. I'd never been but I'd always been curious. I was confused about the situation with the salad bar and how unlimited it was. I really enjoyed the garlic toasts that were offered by our waiter after we sat. He also offered another salad plate which we didn't end up using; one round was enough. I got a small 6 oz steak medium rare which was more medium well and over seasoned for my taste, but I wouldn't expect differently from Sizzler. I quite enjoyed my side of baked potato, which was you'd expect. I wouldn't say the food was exactly delicious, but we didn't come here for that; we came for the experience. We've patronized this location in the past. Unfortunately the Manger Mariam doesn't work well under pressure. Because the woman's and handicap restrooms had no toilet paper. My daughter and 4 year old granddaughter had to use toilet set covers, as toilet paper ! The customers kept complaining about the hot food items. We went in today 05/ 09/2026 11:30 AM and were very displeased because they had changed their menu. We were used to forever getting the small senior shrimp meal which included a salad, drink and baked potato (baked potato the last time we were there the potato was warmed over from the night before. and sent back three times) So you can only have a salad if you order the salad bar, this was according to the non personal cashier. So needless to say the we only ordered the all you can eat salad bar which was $33. I was surprise how busy it was at 2:30 pm until it dawns on me that it is Mama Day. This was my first time at this Sizzler location. The spot seemed ok from the outside. Inside it looked good, but the seating area was very cramped. I have serious ADA concerns if I had brought family who use wheelchairs or have a hard time standing. The majority of the seating area is so cramped you couldn't help but bump into people. Just not enough space. There is a corner that had space, but that was like 6 tables. The customer service was ok, but very quick with everything. Which I appreciated. Salad bar was good. Everything was fresh and crisp. I ordered a 8oz steak and baked potato. The steak was excellent. Great flavor in every bite. The baked potato was ok. Overall I would come back, but would hope they can space out the seating a bit more. So I don't feel like I am on top of another group. We visited on Christmas night 2025 with my family, as it was one of the few places open.. We ordered 2 steaks and 3 all you can eat salad bar. We could not finish our stteak and asked for a to-go box from the waitress. We then went back to the bar to get some items to eat while we are saving the steaks for later. This hispanic lady who refill the food on the salad bar approached our table and accused us of placing salad bar items into our to-go boxes. Waited about 30 min for a place to sit and Sizzler did a fairly good job at having someone at the front of the line looking out for open tables to try and help move the line along. I started off with the unlimited salad bar and hot bar. The salad was fresh and they did a good job at restocking the items that were running low. It also featured fresh fruit and some pasta salads along with already dressed salads (like a caesar). The hot bar was amazing with the chicken wings and potatoes wedges, but the taco bar was something that could have been better... wet/dry meat and the wheels were broken. My steak was amazing (I upgraded to the strip, but should have ordered it med instead of med/well) and the unlimited shrimp was the star of the show... perfectly cooked and the cocktail sauce was on point. The service was prompt once we sat down and the server was so nice and attentive. I will be back for sure! The dessert bar was also nice (sorry I didn't get a pic), but it featured Croft serve (vanilla and chocolate) along with toppings like sprinkles, Oreo pieces, and cones. They also had mini churros! I've been coming to Sizzler since I was a kid, so there's definitely some nostalgia here. My all-time favorite is the Malibu chicken, and of course the salad bar--it's always fresh, crisp, and well-maintained. On a recent visit, I tried the Fisherman's Platter. It was okay, but a bit on the dry side. Honestly, I should've just stuck with the Malibu chicken! I really don't wanna be the one to do this, but I feel like I need to let the people know this place is absolutely ran down. They had no dessert for children or adult adults for that matter. The guy said that machine has been broken down for weeks also it seems like the place is in Dire Straits of a remodel. He did tell me the place is corporate not franchise which says a lot. I've been to franchises and they are in great condition. My steak was tough hard and chewy and the shrimp was very stale and just all bad completely even the cheese bread how do you mess up the popular cheese bread from sizzler I couldn't believe the location was in this kind of condition. I will admit my customer service was pretty good though. I just don't know how they expect for you to pay those prices and get a product that they are serving you in the condition it's in. Wait staff is very friendly and tentative. I once came with a friend and we ended uo staying to eat and talk for over 3.5 hours! Not once did the staff made us felt unwelcomed or hinted we needed to wrap it up and leave. Ordered the cheese toast patty melt for takeout on National Cheese Toast Day, one of their specials offered during the month of September. The sandwich/burger comes with your choice of a side, options including fries, mashed potatoes, rice pilaf, and vegetable medley, among others. The vegetable medley was made up of steamed broccoli and sliced carrot, pretty good with a hint of butter. The patty melt was delish! The meat cooked as requested and well-seasoned, and the caramelized onions combined with the melted cheese, it just came together so well. Basically a juicy cheeseburger with yummy cheese toast as the bun! Plus they threw in a free slice of cheese toast with my order. I usually prefer the unlimited salad bar at Sizzler, but the September special caught my eye, and I'm glad I got to try it. Also, the restaurant was clean, with employees providing professional and attentive service. There was no line to order on a Friday afternoon, and a 10-15 minute wait for my food to be ready. At Sizzler, you can order what you want from the menu and add an additional AYCE salad bar option to go with it which is what we did. The salad bar area has hot foods like chicken wings, soups, fountain drinks, build your own tacos, pasta, icecream, and salads! Now, I've been to other locations before and I love how this one has chicken wings at the salad bar area! Certain locations I've been to didn't even have chicken wings! All of the food here from the salad bar was also good too! Ok now, enough about the AYCE salad bar, we also ordered food from their menu! We ordered the Classic Burger, Malibu Chicken, Strawberry Lemonade, and Mango Lemonade! The burger was thick and the veggies in the burger was fresh! I hadn't been to Sizzler in years, I can't even remember the last time I went. On IG a "California original" video popped up this morning and it was about Sizzler. I looked to see where the closest one to me was and it 15 minutes away. We went and I got the tri tip sirloin, my wife and daughter got the salad bar. The steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the baked potato was good and the cheese toast was epic! I had forgotten how good it was! My daughter loved the chicken wings and pasta and especially the ice cream bar! The steak dinner was only $17.99!!! For the price of a Carl's Jr. meal I had a steak! The highlight surprisingly was the chicken nuggets which taste just like Mcd's McNuggets, if you're into that. The nachos were okay. The fried chicken wings were awful. These used to be my highlight of the hot bar back in the day (think a decade ago) but they taste like they've been fried offsite and re-fried, making them over-battered and dry. Cornbread was decent, and so was the ribs. Service was great.
