Absolutely bizarre customer service experience…read more I went into this Ace Hardware to make one basic copy of a house key. After the key was already made, I was told it would cost almost $7. I was genuinely shocked and said, "Holy fuck, just for one key?! That's a lot!" I understand that some people may not like that language, but I was expressing surprise--not threatening anyone, insulting anyone, or causing a scene. I still said I wanted the key and went to pay with my card. Then I was told there was a $10 minimum to use a card. Again, I expressed my disbelief at the situation. Instead of simply completing the transaction, the cashier decided to tell me to go somewhere else and took the already-made key back. So apparently, this store would rather waste a perfectly good key and lose a sale over a customer reacting to the price. The entire interaction was completely unnecessary and could have been handled professionally. I walked in to make a simple key and walked out because the cashier decided to escalate the situation over a customer expressing shock at the price. If you're looking for a place where a basic transaction can turn into an unnecessary confrontation, this is apparently the place.

This place is SUPER CLEAN!!! Perfectly organized, great customer service and that goes a long way…read more Personally, I can only use superlative terms to express the excellent customer service experience received particularly from Sharon, Jamal, and Willie and how they went out of their way to meet my customer needs. Since I only give excellent feedback to situations and places that are superb, it goes without saying that this place receives that distinction. They have every that you need. Keep up the good work!!!!!

Called into this place this afternoon and asked if they offer key blade cutting services for…read moreautomotive keys. They confirmed that they do offer the service, and said that for automotive keys, it's $5.99 for a two-sided keyblade cutting service. I came in to the store and asked them to go ahead and cut the keys. The employee seemed fine, and was ready to cut the keys, but some guy who identified himself as the store owner came up to me and started asking me an unending series of questions about the keys I was having cut, and he warned me that if I brought blank keys from outside, that his shop might mess up the key cutting and that it was not going to be his fault. I told him that this was fine with me, because I had paid very little money for these blank keys, so I would shoulder the risk. Then he told me that because my keys have a transponder inside them, that they would never work with my car. This is not true. He doesn't know what kind of vehicle I have, and he doesn't know how the keys are paired to work with my car after I have them cut (it takes about 30 seconds to pair them, and requires the original key, which is already paired with the car via a chip transponder). After I politely asked him to quit with the ceaseless questions about my keys, the man who identified himself as the owner of the hardware store asked me to leave, and told me that he would not cut my keys. This was the strangest interaction I have ever had with a hardware store in my life! It was stranger still because I had agreed to shoulder the risk if there were any issues cutting my keys. I was polite in my interaction with these guys, and I politely asked the owner guy to stop with his ceaseless questions and just let me get my keys cut, but he had a terrible attitude and was clearly angry/irritated by something, even before I showed up at the store. It's absurd that this business refuses to cut keys for people, especially when the customer calls in to verify that this business offers that service, including for automotive keys like the ones that I wanted to have cut! I would recommend going elsewhere. This shop (and it's owner, apparently) are pure trash. I must say though, that the employee who was going to cut my keys, he seemed totally fine. It was the guy who identified himself as the owner who had a really bad attitude and couldn't stop trying to sabotage the sale.
