Danny helped me combine what I wanted with what worked best for my skin tone to give me the perfect low maintenance balayage. First time going to Danny after a long time of not going to any salons. Shown below is a before and after photo of how my hair was/is- including my brothers' hair and his friend. I wanted to go to a salon close by home where I can go home if needed for my kids and found out that Danny was just a few minutes away, great. I requested a message through yelp and Danny responded back right away. He gave me his number to schedule an appointment. I gave him a reference of what I desired, scheduled an appointment, and deposited $50 to secure the time slot through Zelle. I scheduled my appointment for 7:00am on Sunday. We ended the session around 1:00pm. At the time he was working on me he was also working on my brothers' hair and his friends hair. They started at 9:00am and finished the same time I did. Would've been earlier if it wasn't for them waiting on me- Danny was working on 3 clients at the same time and we did not feel rushed at all. So, if you plan on doing your hair with a friend of yours I would recommend. Makes the time go by faster. Throughout the whole process Danny made sure that all 3 of us were comfortable, offered drinks that's available, and asked how we were feeling when bleach was on our heads. Everything sounds great and I would deduct a star, but that's because I felt like Danny and his assistant could've been more gentle with my hair. Like other reviews that mentioned previously. I had mentioned it to Danny that he was pulling my hair too hard and he corrected himself, but towards the middle-end I felt like it was rough again- to me, it hurt. Overall, I had a nice experience with Danny working on my brothers' hair and his friend. The outcome was surprising phenomenal. My brothers hair was super light after only one session- his hair didn't break off now felt like it was damaged. Deserves 5 stars regardless because his work is great! First time coloring my hair, and I would 100% recommend Danny. You'll get complimented a lot on your hair! He responds within minutes (on Christmas Eve, too), and took me in the day after Christmas. It took around 6 hours to get my hair from virgin black hair to ash blonde balayage with soft money pieces. I didn't quite know what I wanted in terms of tone, but he made the professional decision based on what looks good with my skin tone and it came out great, healthy, soft, and full-bodied in just one session. He actually didn't recommend going light in the winter, but did it anyways based on what I had shown him LOL -- which is funny and I appreciate it. I didn't even show him anything consistent, but he did what looked best. He and his assistant made sure we were comfortable, hydrated, and fed (with fruit, very healthy). He also gave good tips on how to make the hair pop with clothes, makeup, etc., which helped as a first time blonde. Pricing is reasonable. I'll be coming back for my future sessions. Once I was there, I waited for him to get into the room, then I met him officially and we talked about some things including his interest in how much it would be for opening a business in Sacramento as I am originally from there. He also asked if I wanted layers since my hair is thinning, I said ok. In the middle of our appointment, he took a personal phone call since he was speaking in his own language for about 15 minutes while I waited for him to be off the phone. He did apologize after he was done and then finished layering and trimming the ends of my hair. I feel as if I was definitely taken advantage of as he purposely didn't respond to my text and then wanted $50 cash for something so minor. I read all the reviews for Danny, the good and the bad. And chose him honestly after months of looking at different hair stylists, their work on Instagram, their reviews. I felt so hesitant because I've had bad experiences paying out so much only to have my hair redone by another stylist, which is not only expensive but also time consuming. And when he asked for a $50 deposit over text message, honestly I felt kind of worried, and looked at all the negative reviews in detail again. Most of them were about the $, or they felt he was shady in pricing, but almost everyone could agree his work was great. I came in without really a complete idea of what I wanted. I had some pictures I liked but honestly, even I knew they were all over the place. Wasn't sure if I wanted to go super light, or if I wanted to keep a darker chic look. Typical me, I screwed up on the preparation of what I wanted. He then made a bunch of suggestions based on my skin tone, which I decided to trust but was honestly kind of hesitant throughout the process (I've been stung so many times by hair stylists and their recommendations!!) 4.5 hours later and omg, amazing. Just amazing. I'm so glad I trusted him, and I love my hair. I can't always say that with every stylist, and I always just kind of hold my breath and tell myself I'll figure It out later. As for the pricing. Guys, it's extremely fair. I think perhaps there is a misunderstanding on hair coloring prices. It always needs to be quoted and the starting amount is usually for short hair. But if your hair is long, pretreated, tough to color because of its texture, etc etc, those all need to be factored into the final price. Especially for balayage / babylights since it requires more skill and time. Other places I've gone to are comparable, if not more. And they don't always do a good job (I once paid over $600 to get my hair done at 2 different places because the first place did such a horrible job - that was 7 years ago before inflation!) I've honestly done way too much research on who I was going to go for my hair color, and everyone charges so much for baby lights. Danny does an amazing job, and he really knows hair. He told me others require 2 visits to what he can achieve. And based on my research, it's honestly true, he's not being boastful.
