I called prior to see if they could take me as an early morning appointment. The person on the…read morephone said sure no problem. When I got to the salon, the hairstylist was smoking a cigarette outside and then came in and started speaking to me in Chinese. He started getting more aggressive while speaking to me and then called his boss to complain about accepting early appointments. It was such a horrible experience that I left the salon and never went again after this. That hairstylist clearly didn't want to cut my hair and just wanted to smoke cigarettes.

She spent a lot of time cutting my hair and trimming it again the next day to make sure that I'm satisfied with my hairstyle. She was very detailed oriented and would recommend hairstyle or length based on my face shape, and her previous experiences. It was about 3:30pm when I came in, and no one else was there, which I Iliked since that allowed Ched to take his time with my hair. However, no sooner I did a check in and got into the chair for shampooing, three other women decided to show up and wanting their hair done too, lol! Hahaha, I brought Ched extra business on a slow Friday afternoon ;) Ched gave me a great scalp massage while shampooing my hair. After he applied conditioner, it got slippery and water sprayed all over. Luckily, I I wasn't soaked, and Ched was very apologetic from beginning to end, how sweet! :) Even though 3 women came in, Ched took his time with me, and didn't rush through. He asked me how I wanted my part, and covered up my lil hole on my top crown. He made my curls tight since my hair was baby fine and topped it off with Suave brand gel hairspray. My curls were awesome, and they held nicely throughout my friend's bday party. Best of all, when I came home and brushed it out before showering, it still looked amazing! *Sighs* had to brush it out otherwise, it'll look like a rat's nest in the morning, lol! The wash and curl took no more than 25 mins to do. Cost was $20 (not including tip). My curls were tight and intact with my baby fine hair. I did notice that unlike Drybar, Ched doesn't put mousse in there first, so some parts of curls were crunchy, but thank goodness not fried. However, my curls held up nicely, and so I was happy :) Located in the same plaza as Game Stop, Arby's and 99 Ranch Market in Alhambra. I would definitely come by again for a hair cut or wash and curl again, yay! :)

I would go back to her without hesitation because of this alone. I booked an appointment for a digital perm with Liya well over a month ago. I have stick straight hair that has zero volume and the videos and pictures I was seeing of Liya's beautiful work was so exciting! My day arrived and I was super excited. Side note, I am currently dealing with some heavy personal things at home, so having this to look forward to was a breath of fresh air. This will come into play in this review in a moment. I arrived for my appointment, Liya looked at my hair and did tell me my hair was very fine and that I had some damage at the ends. I knew these things, so it wasn't a shock. She did a cut to remove those damaged ends and then her assistant took me to wash my hair. During that wash the assistant asked me some questions about my hair because she was seeing some damage that was concerning to her. She finished the wash and took me back to the chair. Liya came back, she spoke with the assistant, and then Liya showed me the parts of my hair that the assistant was concerned about. She was very kind and apologetic, but told me that she would not feel comfortable giving me the perm with the damage they were seeing. It was more apparent now while my hair was wet. She didn't see it as much when she did the dry cut. Of course I was disappointed, but I was not upset with Liya for making this call. As a matter of fact, I was very appreciative that she was willing to be honest with me and not just take my money. Here's where my personal issues came into play. My level of disappointment combined with stress and sadness I was already feeling caused me to cry. I was trying to hold it in, but I kind of failed. Liya again apologized, I tried to explain that I was okay and I wasn't upset with her or blaming her. I told her I was grateful for her honesty. This is why I write this review. I hope that Liya reads it or at least gets the message. While I am very sad to have not been able to experience her beautiful work on my own hair, I am so thankful that she is a person of respect, integrity, and honesty. She did not charge me for the cut and the wash either. If you are looking to visit Liya at TT Salon, I highly recommend her! She is not just out there taking people's money because of a popular trend. I am hopeful that one day I can go back and get that perm, Liya! Booking online was super easy. You can choose the service, hairstylist, and see their earliest available appointments. I decided to just go with any available stylist and was booked with Tony. I was hoping for the best, and he gave me exactly the waves I was looking for. The process was about 5 hours, but honestly, I love waking up with effortless beach waves every day, so it was worth it! Several people helped with washing and styling throughout the appointment, and everyone was so kind and welcoming. They even offer snacks and water during the service, which I thought was such a nice touch. The owner, who is also a stylist, was really nice as well. Plus, there's a huge free parking lot, which made the whole experience even more convenient. I'll definitely be recommending TT Hair Salon to all my friends, and to you reading this
