The appearance made me think I am taking a break while on a forest retreat/expedition. A bit on the warm side, so it reinforces my beliefs haha. For myself, I had the green eggs and ham (poached eggs and Black Forest ham topped with salsa verde and melted cheese). I would say it was nice and filling even if not the most visually appealing, and their coffee is not something to scoff at either. I look forward to seeing their other offerings. Their staff seem to be helpful, content, and reliable. True to their name, it is only open half a day (closes at 2:30 pm), so consider this in mind if you plan on visiting!

Half Day Cafe is a cute brunch spot in Kentfield with all of the breakfast/diner staples you would expect. After a recent workout with friends, we decided to have brunch at Half Day Cafe. Although there is the indoor dining area, we decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and eat outside. The menu was filled with breakfast classics. Here is what we ordered: Huevos Rancheros (3.5/5): There was a good level of spice from the sauce with the savory creamy beans. Not bad, but did feel like the egg was lacking. Green Eggs and Ham (3/5): A savory mix of eggs and ham to provide a nice counter balance to the crispy hash browns. Again felt like the proteins were missing. The service was very quick and helpful. Parking is shared with other establishments in the area so may need to wait or consider parking on the street. Overall, Half Day may not have food that will blow your mind but is a decent option to consider for brunch.

Lovely restaurant. Friendly service and nice ambiance. I enjoyed my tuna melt very much! I went with my friends on a Saturday afternoon so it was very busy and it did take some time to get our food, but it was totally worth it! I'll be back.

A cute brunch cafe in Kentfield with parking! We didn't have to wait for a table, although it was quite busy on this Saturday morning. It's a bright space with an abundance of staff. I ordered a build your own scramble and latte. The coffee was good and strong. The scramble and hash browns were seasoned well and piping hot. A plus for me was the hot sauce option!

The quiche was incredible/ they make one each day. Today's was a veggie quiche. The side potatoes which I believe are oven roasted are also amazing. So crispy and evenly browned. The potatoes alone are worth the trip! And lovely service too!

I have been wanting to try Half Day Cafe for quite some time. I had brunch around the Holiday's with a dear friend. The food was delicious. I had an oat milk latte and the breakfast panini with hash browns. The sandwich has eggs, spinach, ham and cheese. The ingredients are simple, but the flavor combination was excellent. Plus I love panini sandwiches. One thing I want to mention is it is extremely loud when it's busy. I came on a Sunday and it was a full house. I could barely hear my friend. She also has hearing issues so it was difficult to hear each other. Besides parking on the street there is a parking lot behind the restaurant. The entrance is a little confusing since it's in the back.

I've been here a few times. They're pretty busy all the times I've been there for breakfast/brunch. The place is pretty big. The wait has never been too long and the staff has been nice. It's convenient if you take classes at the Marin Community College, as it's literally less than a block away. There's parking in the back but it gets full fast. You can try and find street parking (which is often limited to time) or pay $4 to park in the Marin Community College lot...and not worry about getting ticketed. I always heard the scones were popular here but every time I went they were sold out. Surprisingly, they had some when I went. These were HUGE! They were more like mini loaves. They came with softened butter that had a hint of orange or apricot (reminded me of the taste of jam). Unfortunately, I thought these were just ok. They were too dry for my taste. I had cut these in half to split amongst the table and it crumbled a lot. Our table ordered the veggie/tofu scramble & 2 eggs w/bacon and hash browns. The hash browns were cooked just right. A little crispy on the outside and not dry on the inside. All the dishes were good. I forgot to take pictures of the main dishes but will add next time I go again! I would come back here again if my friends and I were finding a place to get together and have brunch. It's always bustling with customers.

This place has been around for a long time and is very popular. Simple decor in a casual atmosphere. Service is straight forward and efficient. Good quality food with fresh ingredients. I had the blueberry pancakes that were light and fluffy. The side sausage was a patty and decent but I prefer the rolls. Scrambles and Benedict's are huge and you can customize. I recommend trying the house made scones they are excellent! The service everything with an orange butter that is unique. Great breakfast/brunch/lunch place!

The food was pretty good, the waffle is very light so if you're hungry get the pancakes. I would definitely recommend the fruit cup but if not at least the orange butter, it tastes pretty good if you like orange. The waffle has a very good consistency and the fruit tastes fresh. The service was very quick and the ambiance of the store is beautiful, very green and minimalistic with plants everywhere. Overall good breakfast experience.

I'm a big fan of huevos rancheros ( as it's quite filling) so when I saw that on the menu, I knew I wanted to give it a try. The portion size was very generous and it was a good pick as a brunch item. Was not the best huevos rancheros I've ever had but it was ok and got the job done. I LOVED the crispy chip they put in the beans. Too bad there was only 1...that chip was a 10/10 and I gladly would have had more with my meal. To drink, I had a "freshly squeezed" orange juice, however, it did not taste like fresh orange juice to me and had that carton orange juice taste to it. The service was very fast and efficient! And the restaurant interior has a nice, rustic feel to it that feels homey.
