Denying access based on a past experience with another dog is not lawful. Under the Americans with Disabilities Act, service animals may only be excluded if that specific animal is out of control or not housebroken--neither of which applied here. My dog was behaving impeccably and performing their trained tasks. Loudness, past incidents, or personal assumptions are not valid reasons to refuse a service animal. This was not a misunderstanding--it was a refusal of access based on disability. I hope management educates their staff on ADA compliance so future disabled patrons are not treated this way. I will not be spending my money here and urge others to do the same based on their discriminatory behavior.
