I've had a lot of pizza. This is by far my favorite pizza in Columbus. Their crust has the perfect combination of crunchy and soft. The flavored crust is delicious and hard to get right without being too overpowering. They did it. It's amazing. My boyfriend had the pepperoni Stromboli which sounds boring but according to him was wonderful. Oh yeah and they have mini French macaroons for dessert, yum! read more

This is an update to my previous review, which was 4 stars. The last two times I've had pizza from here, it was really not worth it. I didn't specify any particular crust, or sauce, just simply ordered a large pepperoni pizza. The box felt as though there was nothing in it. I got it home, and there just wasn't much there. Thin crust (that in itself isn't bad, and I kind of like the crust), nearly no sauce, and very little cheese. It almost seems as though the pepperoni is even sliced half as thin as usual. They are always really nice, and I wish their pizza was better (as it was when they opened), but I won't eat there again unless I have some reason to believe it has changed for the better. Sometimes regular italiano pizza just isnt what you want. I lf thats the case you gotta try this pizza joint. Small place packs huge flavors, I recommend any of the country themed pizza styles. Tried this spot out for the first time last night. It was excellent! The owner is very friendly and I appreciate the hard work and passion that goes into making his pizza. The fact it's open until 4:00 am is even better for the occasional late night on a weekend. I was a grandads fan before, but this will be my new "go to" in Grandview. My favorite restaurant. Everything I ordered so far is delicious! The owner is super nice and works around my food allergies. I stopped eating Italian because I'm allergic to tomato and had reactions from the kitchen touching this and that and this is the first place that doesn't happen - the kitchen much be immaculate in keeping ingredients seperate and they will custom make my food with no tomato sauce so I love it. The white pizza is mouth watering, and I can't believe how inexpensive it is for such fine food. Pasta and bread is great too! I drive a half hour to eat here because I can't eat other pizza after coming here. My boyfriend is nuts about the Greek pizza and Spinich and Feta stromboli. Cheaper and WAY better than chains - you are missing out if you don't try this food. read more

With excellent service and a delicious selection of food, Halwani Cuisine lives up to the high praise it has received here on Yelp. It's because of Yelp that I first tried Halwani, going with the BBQ Chicken pizza, which has become my go-to choice there. It's very tasty. The cheezy garlic bread is great as well. Pork products aren't on the menu, as others have noted, though that hasn't been an issue for me. I can't comment on the dine-in experience since I've only ordered delivery from Halwani. But the delivery drivers are great, ordering by phone is a cinch, and the food is wonderful. It's hard to go wrong with that. Highly recommended. read more

We ordered pizza for delivery tonight. We're new in town (coming from St. Louis) and used Yelp for help. We chose Halwani's because they are located in Grandview Heights and received a 4-star rating overall in Yelp. We ordered a thin veggie with extra toppings. It arrived in the time frame they gave us and it was HOT. I think most pizza places are all about the toppings and neglect the crust - not Halwani's. Their thin crust was dusted in cornmeal and crispy yet airy with a slight sweetness. (It's a crust that could have easily been eaten without toppings because it was so flavorful - can't say that about most pizza's.) Halwani's will definitely be our 'go to' for delivery. Maybe this summer we'll stumble upon the establishment for a taste of the atmosphere! If it's anything like their delivery pizza/service, we'll be pleased, I'm sure! read more

My go to pizza place! I always order the margarita pizza. If you are looking for something not too heavy but still tasty then definitely get the margarita pizza. It is simple yet delicious. The people who work here are very nice. If your pizza is taking too long have some patience because usually there's only 1 or 2 people working but it is definitely worth the wait. I've gotten the wings here before and the flavor is good they're more like saucy wings than fried wings. Overall great place read more

Tried it out because of the awesome reviews on Yelp. I tried the Deluxe Stromboli. I was not disappointed AT ALL. The food was hot the ingredients came together and created a delicious taste. I also tried a little bit of the Meat Crazy pizza. That was AWESOME. The flavor was great. It wasn't greasy. The crust was a good combination of garlic and butter. We are new to the area so yelp has been a lifesaver. But I'm disappointed this time. We ordered a large hand tossed pepperoni pizza and an order of cheesy garlic bread (as suggested by several yelpers). It was ok. All together it was tasty (beef pepperoni better than regular pepperoni) and the crust was delicious but there was barely any there. They advertise their hand tossed as thick crust but the crust was about as useful as transporting spaghetti with a piece of paper. The garlic bread is alright but a bit greasy. The regular sauce with it was rather watery for my taste. The flavors for the pizza are definitely there but the execution fell very short of my expectations for a hand tossed pizza. Would I order it again? Probably not. But if someone else bought it I'd eat it. read more

Love this place. The owner Shahid, who is always there, is extraordinarily accommodating and welcoming every time I've been. He remembers names and faces very well. The food is fantastic. I've had the wings, the stromboli and the pizza, and there is something special about each item. The wings have that classic buffalo taste, but then there's something added to them that puts them just over the top. Shahid says he bakes instead of frying them, but I'm sure theres more to it. The pizza crust is perfectly crunchy with just the right amount of collapse in it when you bite down. The stromboli crust is deliciously salty and follows the same idea as the pizza crust as far as texture goes. My only regret about coming to this place is that I didn't find it sooner. read more

We stopped here with some friends on the advice of the guy who runs Noora, and I'm glad we took his advice. The Tandoori Chicken Pizza (which is apparently their #1 seller) is worth the drive from Westerville. The folks running the show here were very friendly and attentive as well. Really great pizza and very friendly service. For my first time ordering, I chose the white pizza. Very cheesy with the perfect amount of razor thin garlic slices to provide flavor. The addition of cheddar and ricotta cheeses add texture and flavor. The crust is crispy, thin, and has a light sweet taste. I believe it is dusted with corn meal or something else similar is texture. It keeps a simple pizza interesting by providing a nice base. I would order from them again and plan on trying more of their specialty pizzas. The gentleman on the phone recommended the chicken tandoori pizza but I wasn't in the mood for anything spicy that evening. So I'd like to try that soon. If you hate pizza that's a grease-fest, Halwani's is a great choice in Grandview! It's never dripping with grease and like they advertise, everything tastes legit fresh. I've never gotten any toppings that tasted like they were several days old unlike their competitors (*cough Tommy's *cough Donatos). Simply terrible. I had a flier with a unexpired coupon attached for a large specialty pizza for $10.99, when I called to order for pickup the person who answered said he thought the coupon was for $11.99 I said that is not what it said but that that price was fine. I ordered a Veggie Pizza and was told the wait time was 20 minutes. 20 minutes later I went to the shop handed the coupon over and the guy told me that the coupon was old (even though it was not expired) I said okay, thinking I would be charged the $11.99 he referenced on our phone conversation. The credit card slip he gave me to sign was for $15.99! I said "Wait, this is $15.99, he said yes, your coupon is too old. I was ticked to have to spend $15.99 for a pizza at lunch time, there are SO many pizza places in Grandview. Then the pizza was cold and crappy to boot ( for the record I had pizza from there in the past and it was pretty good). GO try this place NOW! I will admit, I usually do not prefer pizza shops that are locally owned (I know, what kind of person am I?!) However, my mind has been changed with Halwani's. My husband, friend, and I ate in the restaurant. We were celebrating so it was nice that we could hang out there. The service was great and the pizza was even better. We got the crazy meat, greek pizza, and the tandoori chicken pizza. All were SO good. I personally do not like chicken on pizza but the tandoori pizza was actually VERY good. It was like having the best of both worlds (pizza and indian food). The combination some how went together very well. I absolutely LOVE that they put a garlic butter sauce on the crust too. I am a huge garlic lover so this just made the pizza even better. Aside from the pizza, the owner is amazing as well. He is very friendly and very welcoming. We had a nice long talk with him while we were there. He has such an interesting story and im very jealous that he speaks so many languages. He can make anyone feel welcome and at home there. I don't know what to make of Halwani. I think the tandoori chicken pizza was good as others mentioned, but I think it's a little expensive for what it is (overall quality). I will say that this is probably the only place in Columbus where you can get those toppings on a pizza so I guess you could justify the price in that way. I would advise against the chicken wings. They tasted like the frozen TGIF wings you can find at the grocery store. If you have any reason to eat here, it's for the tandoori chicken pizza. read more

Ordered a pizza from here last night. I got the crazy meat pizza - pepperoni sausage and ham! The sausage and pepperoni were beef and the ham was turkey ham - they don't use pork products. I wouldn't have known a difference - everything just tasted so fresh and the crust is so buttery and crunchy! I am definitely going back here when I crave pizza again. This should be a ZERO star. Get this. We ordered our food online for our family of four. It was a long week and we were looking forward to relaxing so we ordered from Bite Squad. We - much to our chagrin - choose to order the food from this so called pizza joint. We ordered online at 6:30 pm. Bite Squad has a cool feature where they show the process from ordering to cooking to delivery. Our delivery time said the food would be at our door about 7:30 pm. We then watched as the time kept slipping by - every time we checked the delivery estimate would be delayed! This was odd in that the online feature said our food was cooking durning this time period. When the delivery time changed to 8:15 pm (45 minutes past the original estimate), we contacted this so called food establishment. When I questioned the manager about the issue, he said "sorry we are busy, we are getting to your order". He then said "your order is next to go out and if you have an issue contact Bite Squad". I then said, Bite Squad is NOT the problem. I knew that as the computer told me the Bite Squad driver was THERE. I pointed out this issue and the manager said, "contact Bite Squad". If the issue was they were "too busy", they should not have accepted our order. Bite Squad then called us to tell us that "our order was cancelled because I was rude in questioning why our food was delayed" - I never used profanity but I did express my dismay about the delay. I immediately called back the manger who's new story - totally contrived - is that the oven is broken. Two minutes prior, there was not a mention of an issue with the over - suddenly after my call, the oven is on the fritz. A two year old could come up with a more convincing story. I then said, let me get this straight, the order we placed at 6:30 pm was still not in the oven and the manager replied, "yes". If the oven was "broken", how is everyone else in the place eating? He then never offered an apology, a discount or even a fake sympathetic comment and simply told me that our order was cancelled. Bite Squad called us an offered their apology - I immediately said not necessary as it is not their fault, I would note they lost out on a sale. We would like to say this place left a bad taste in our mouth, but as you can imagine - we can't taste a thing! We love supporting local businesses, but this one is on the NEVER patronize list. So if you are looking for an UNPROFESSIONAL, MISLEADING and UNAPOLOGETICALLY poor customer service - look no further - this place will not disappoint you. Since it is two hours later and my kids are starving, does anyone have any suggestions on a RELIABLE and good place to eat? read more

We got the Classic (pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, parrnesan, provolone and mozzarella) delivered tonight. Our tween daughter and her friend devoured most of it, but the one slice I managed to get was excellent. Crisp crust, zingy pepperonis, flavorful sausage and tangy sauce. Not overly swimming in cheese. And, the pepperoni and sausage are beef, not sausage, but you can't tell the difference in flavor. I like that this is a small local business. read more

Went to Halwani's for the first time last night on the Grandview pizza crawl. Although I only got one slice it was some of the best pizza I've had in a while. The owner makes the pizza, runs the register, and makes deliveries. He is incredibly engaging and excited to share his business. I tried the Tandoori pizza, it was the perfect mix of spice and sweet.
