I found this place on yelp and wasn't sure what to expect. First off, I want to say that I value customer service sometimes more than the food itself. Thankfully here, I didn't have to make that distinction! Both the customer service and the food are incredible! As a bonus, all of the meat is halal. I really don't have enough great things to say about Halwani Cuisine. It's a sort of Middle-Eastern-Italian Fusion. The dishes take on a life of their own, despite just being "Italian." Other restaurants need to take a tip from these guys. I don't know much about running restaurants, but I do know a lot about eating. And I plan to eat a lot more food from Halwani and look forward to seeing their future creations! I will be recommending to all of my friends in Columbus to make the pilgrimage over to Grandview and enjoy some of, what I honestly believe, is the best pizza in Columbus. read more

Went there for lunch today after checking Yelp for lunch spots in Grandview. The owner served me and was super nice. The easy meat pizza I ordered was out in less than 15 minutes. The sauce has a nice sweet taste and the pie was delicious. Highly recommended for lunch. Has adequate seating for up to say 15 or so. Nice service and great food equals I'll be back. Too bad he doesn't deliver during lunch hours. Might get more business at my Grandview work location. read more

UPDATE: apparently all of these issues were due to Grub Hub's delivery delays. The restaurant owner immediately followed up with me and Grub Hub to remedy the situation. Excellent customer service! ORIGINAL REVIEW: Ordered on Grub Hub and was extremely disappointed. The filling in the meat ravioli was an odd gray color, the garlic bread was cold, the marinara sauce was sugary, and the chicken wings were too greasy (but soft rather than crispy). Now that I live in the area I come here for dinner about once a week because it is just that good, and I would eat here every day if I could! It is a little pricier than other local pizzerias but the difference in quality and taste is so worth it. The pizzas are never greasy like some other places, and the crust is perfectly crunchy and buttery. It is a locally owned shop, and the owner, Shan, is so friendly and welcoming from the moment you walk in. It is rare to find a business owner/manager who is so passionate about his work and truly cares about his customers. He's come up with some great, unique flavor combinations for the specialty pizzas, including the South African-inspired pizza with steak, onions, and BBQ sauce. All in all, a great hidden gem of a restaurant. read more

We were not impressed with all the food we ordered. The food did arrive quickly; however, was of very low quality. The pepperoni calzone was ok and the "best" item out of everything we ordered. The pizza had barely any cheese and the sauce tasted sour. It was not good. Finally our salads were the worst. They consisted of browning iceberg lettuce, a few pale tomato slices, onions, a few thin cucumber slices, and barely any shredded cheese. We will not be ordering from here again. read more

I live in Grandview, but never heard of this place until today when I saw their local ad. Usually I read the reviews before I try any restaurant. I was quite hesitated and disappointed after reading the reviews but thought let me give it a shot since I have a coupon of a family meal deal. I had Stromboli & Pepp Pizza. Both were great crust, delicious sauce and an amazing friendly customer service over the phone and at the restaurant. Very clean restaurant. There is a kitchen window too where you can see a very clean kitchen. We will defiantly go back. Highly recommended. read more

This is my husband and I's go to Grand view pizza place. They are friendly, have fresh ingredients, great pizza and you can see the cleanliness of the kitchen through their open window( which is always important). I have never been disappointed in the pizza or the service provided.Plus they are privately/family owned so who wouldn't want to support them over a chain! Found this little restaurant/carry out today while walking along Grandview Avenue. Had a spinach Stromboli. Delicious! Companions had chicken gyros, which had the most delicious sauce, and a pepperoni pizza, which had a thin crust with great texture and bite. Everything was housemade and delicious. Friendly staff and nice seating area with a few TVs. We sat outside on this first nice day of spring on sturdy metal patio furniture. I cannot wait to go back and have a pizza because this is a place that cares about the art and science of good crust, which seems to be a rare thing at most pizza places around here. Very yummy. Delicious pizza! Red sauce is garlicy and a little bit sweet. The white pizza is extrordinary, the ricotta really makes it. Chicken wings are great, lightly breaded, which is my favorite. Very nice staff as well! read more

This pizza is fantastic! The beef and turkey products taste better and they're less fatty. There are lots of different off-the-beaten-path pizzas and the owner is a really nice guy. Tucked away in an alley off Grandview Avenue (right behind Mazah Mediterranean.) We tried a couple of the stromboli. Very good crust and and just the right amount of sauce to not make the dough soggy No glitz and glamor to the dining area. Just good italian stromboli at reasonable prices. Secondly, I've show up here and been made to wait 15 min after the quoted time for my food. And lastly, the food is subpar. Halwani's makes the best Stromboli I've ever had the privilege of eating, that's right I said privilege! The crust is soft and literally your Stromboli can be cut with a fork. The owner of this establishment is truly a master of his craft and his carefree conversation with you while you wait for your order makes the "whole 15 minute" wait fly-bye...when was the last time you got a pizza with 15 minutes of ordering? I've ordered pizza delivery from this place only a couple times but it has always been INCREDIBLE pizza. They deliver it extremely hot and fresh. Their delivery times tend to be sort of long (usually they tell you about an hour) but the quality is worth waiting for. This was my first time eating Halwani despite living only a few blocks away. We got the Tandoori Chicken as recommended. I was a little worried because I don't handle spice very well, but he said I could order it as hot or as mild as I wanted. I ordered it medium and it was a good amount of spice. A tasty pizza with a good crust (a little buttery and a little cornmeal dusted). As other reviewers said, I was surprised to see no one else in there. The pizza was also a little on the expensive side. But the owner (I'm guessing) was really friendly and recognized that I've never been in. I would go back again. read more

Very good pizza, with specialty flavors you just aren't going to find anywhere else (Moroccan, Tandoori, etc.). The crust is excellent, and the stromboli is delicious. It is not a great location because it is kind of hidden behind Giant Eagle, but I hope enough people notice it to make it succeed and last. we live in grandview and cannot get enough of this pizza. we've tried the crazy meat, bbq chicken, tandoori, and margarita pizzas, and just ordered the hawaiian pizza today. we've met both the chef and the owner who are very friendly and always smiling. the pizzas are very flavorful and NOT greasy. highly recommend! read more
