Refused to be allowed to speak to a manager. On 9.2 around 6pm the front counter representative was extremely rude. I asked a simple question on direction but was met with an unprofessional attitude and answer to "read the signs". I was then told I'm not a customer so they are unable to help which is incorrect because I've purchase in the past but promise, no longer in the future. Please coach your face of the company, unacceptable.

I'll never go back to this place again. It's been my go-to for Asian-style bakery treats, but after today, I'm done. I picked up a cheesecake for takeout, and when I went to eat it today, I was shocked to find it covered with a napkin. Why would they do that? The food looked like it was trash about to be thrown away. It's completely unacceptable and disappointing.

We originally only went here for some grocery but also food court for lunch. Didn't expect there to be a cute little coffee shop! I haven't had my coffee for the day yet so it was perfect. We had our lunch next door and decided to grab some coffee from this shop. What immediately caught my eye was that they had boba!! Any excuse to get boba, I'm in! We got in line, waited a bit behind the people next to me and I kept over hearing that they were out of something. I was REALLY hoping it wasn't boba since I waited till after our meal to get it. Luckily, they weren't out of boba but out of matcha which was fine since I was there for the coffee mainly. We also ended up getting a Strawberry Cheese Danish which was DELICIOUS!! It just melts in your mouth and the strawberries were fresh! The cheese in the middle was so perfect. The iced latte I got with boba was also the perfect strong/sweetness especially since I didn't have my coffee first thing in the morning and really needed that kick. Boba had the good chewiness I expected and wish I got extra! We came back a week later and ended up trying the strawberry croissant with chocolate and it was absolutely delicious. I love how fresh the strawberries are and the chocolate was so perfect! I got the iced hazelnut latte this time with extra boba and was extremely happy about it! Such a perfect drink. I was going to get the cappuccino shake but I think their machine was broken at the time. Other than that, love this bakery and will always grab something from here whenever we visit Mitsuwa. They even have a stamp card! Didn't find out about it till our second visit but that's ok! IG: @ammysalamii

Delicious Japanese bakery in the Mitsuwa Santa Monica location! I picked up a matcha melon pan (matcha filling which was very creamy and really tasted like matcha) and a heated up curry doughnut (essentially a curry pan). Both were delicious and a perfect afternoon snack! Parking is easy.

Coffee jelly drink was light and actually has caffeine. it's not just flavored to taste like coffee! It's a pretty generous serving of coffee jelly. I actually sipped up all my milk and still had over a quarter cup of jelly left so I took it home and added another cup of milk lol! The employee there said the coffee jelly drink and the brown sugar boba are both equally popular choices. I will have to go back to try the brown sugar boba. I've also tried their milk soft serve and thought it was pretty good - added extra Cinnamon Toast Crunch and mochi as toppings. I also noticed quite a few middle aged and older Asian women snagging the white bread loaves. My interest has been peaked and I will have to give it a try next time as well!!

Solid Japanese bakery inside Mitsuwa. Perfect for mochi donut, curry-pan and cream filled pastry cravings.

Located inside the Mitsuwa Market. Whenever I am in the area, their ICED GREEN TEA MATCHA LATTE and GREEN TEA MATCHA SOFT SERVE have a gravitational pull on me, gravitational I say! I cannot not say no. TIP: It is to the right, right after the Japanese novelty store before the Japanese food court. This place is more of a grab-and-go kind of joint. If you are a matcha lover, then you know THIS IS A MUST.

Every time I visit, I always make sure to visit once, if not twice. Super affordable boba, cute cafe with lots of cute merch, AND they have food and snacks. How can you beat that? When we were in the area looking for boba, I saw that there was a Ume Tea nearby (there's only 2 in SoCal), so my friend and I decided to stop by after our visit to the Milpitas location. There's a decent amount of parking in the plaza, but it can get quite busy given the area and the amount of businesses, but you can always do street parking and walk over. It was quite busy for a Sunday afternoon as there were lots of pick up orders and others ordering form the kiosks (they have 3 if you count the tablet on the counter) and waiting for their orders. It's a narrower location with no public restrooms (at least if there was, it'd be behind the employees only door, but I didn't ask). There's some merch on the wall, but not much of it sadly and 1 small statue for photo ops. There's seating, but since the shop is narrow, they're more like benches with small tables. Here is where, I think my bias comes out a bit, the merch here was some left over collaboration merch and some bags and cups I think, but NorCal had several different kinds of plushies, a perfume block, other air fresheners, stickers, plushies, etc. They NorCal locations also had way more for their food/snack menu like fried baby octopus (my favorite), bento boxes and much more (also in terms of how many different types of drinks that they have). It might be because NorCal is the California originator or because each franchise owner has different choices in what they have, but it wasn't as mind blowing. I get it though with raising costs and the limitations of space that they have. I got a passionfruit mango green tea with lychee jelly, 50% sweet (I'd go lower next time since it was pretty sweet) and less ice. Pretty refreshing for a hot summer day. Friend got a purple sticky rice milk tea, 70% sweet. Not bad, and didn't skimp out on the purple rice. Flavor is middle level milk tea. Not bad, hits the spot if you need it, but not mind blowing. I don't think I'll go out of my way to go to this location again, but I might try the other one. My friend and I were having a conversation about this, but maybe Ume Tea didn't enter the 626 BOBA WARS as with how limited they are compared to NorCal, the competition would be much too fierce, but it's so obvious how much the community and locals love them here.

I had the passion fruit tea 25% sweet which was technically advertised as made with real passion fruit puree but it was just a premade syrup from Teazone. I received the drink and was disappointed that it tasted like water with some passion fruit resemblance. We also had gotten a classic black milk tea, which also tasted watered down, and finally we got the ube coconut smoothie, which for some reason was grey and white. We got that one at 75% sweet, but it was way too sweet and left a weird residue in my mouth. Very disappointed and would not come back again.
