I really like these old school places for a quick bite to eat. A good relic of the past and I remember my grandpa always enjoying this place. So it has a good atmosphere in terms of getting that nostalgia. I had the double decker cheeseburger and a chili dog. The burger was pretty good. The amount of mayo/mustard/relish sauce was overwhelming. The patties are too thin for 3 pieces of bread. Plus the middle bun got super soggy. With that said, the actual burger had a good char taste and the cheese was melted nicely. The chili dog was good but oh my! Think it was the first time I had to use a knife and fork to eat a chili dog. I'd say this place is more of a 3.5/5 but I'd be willing to come back and try some other stuff. Has some potential.

    Patty Melt on Rye

I've driven past here many times and always saw a crowd. Finally stopped here for lunch with a friend. We parked and had the option to scan the QR code to place an order. It was easy, quick, and efficient. Waited 15 minutes for the food, but it was hot and ready when I got the window. For myself, I ordered the patty melt and orange and vanilla ice cream float. My friend got the banana milk shake. The patty melt was meh. The patty was cooked perfectly on toasty rye bread, grilled onions, and melty cheese. There was just a lack of seasoning. Just needed a tad more salt or something. The orange cream float was alright too. The soda itself was just carbonated and orange but missing the sweetness. The lid from the cup kept coming off too. Probably why it was handed to me all messy instead of just replacing the lid. My friend had no complaints about her banana shake though. Service was served with a smile though and the girls behind the counter were friendly.

Old style walk up burger joint with outdoor seating

We had some time to kill today, so we decided to try Hamburger Heaven. The joint is an old school corner walk up, hamburger stop. Neon signs resemble something from the 50's. There is no indoor seating but plenty of outdoor patio seats. The men had quite a few options as well! The small hamburger resembles the size of a Big Mac, the medium is a single patty 1/3lb, and god knows how big the large is lol. We went with a traditional burger. She got the small and I got the medium. Both are big. The burgers were juicy and tasted good, but mine had an extreme amount of Mayo/mustard. So bad that I had to hold the burger from the back to prevent the meat from sliding out of the bun. Way way too much sauce! Kind of gross. I end we up wiping almost all of it off. I do recommend getting grilled onions in place of regular ones. The fries are decent. They were a little soggy. Overall, hamburger Heaven is worth trying but tell them to go east on their sauces! Get plenty of napkins (I had to ask for them) because it is messy.

This place was a great summertime experience. It's on a busy intersection with plenty of parking. They have outdoor seating for small and larger parties. Picnic tables and smaller bistro tables. It was a cool experience to see a menu as tall as you displayed on the outside so it's super easy to read. You order through a window and walk around to the other side of the building to pick up your order. I order the Big Cheese and it's was amazing. It's in a brioche bun and there is plenty of beef. Trust me!!! My nephew order the No "bull" and it was HUGE! The burger was the size of his head. 2 third pound patties topped with your choice of cheese (American) and between the patties a mound of fresh fries. They are very generous with the fries in the burger and the side of cheese fries was super huge. 2 people can share 1 order. The cheese cup was great so don't worry. They have the good cheese. The service here was amazing and made the experience smooth and very memorable. You can see the whole kitchen behind the glass wrap around windows. They looked like they were enjoying their job and having fun talking to customers. I will be back!!!!

Big Bacon Burger cheese & fries with the mix sauce

I will be back for sure! The burger did not taste cheap like some burger joints do. Everything was hot and fresh just like I like my food. I got the big cheese burger with bacon. And added the mix sauce. It was a decent size as well. And really nice size of fries to. Fries do not come with the burger. You have to purchase separate Total $14.91 Give them a try you won't be disappointed .

Tenders and fry's and rootbeer float

Overall the food was pretty good. Unfortunately, we got stuck with about 5lbs of fry's because the cashier told us that all fries were separate but we got them with our chicken fingers. I understand it's on the menu I just wish she was more informative. It was also a little pricey for just a small little diner. I would come back but it's not high on my list to come back to. Also if your girlfriend is looking for a crispy Diet Coke. Pick one up from McDonald's on your way in. Kinda flat.

Establishment, classic all American hamburger, soda and ice cream shop is a walk up only restaurant, offering outdoor picnic table seating in the warmer months. These little hole in the wall places are so nostalgic, you just have to stop. Was so hungry and excited for my ice cream that I even forgot to take a picture! Had the traditional swirl cone with chocolate and vanilla and tried the hot fudge sundae. Should have asked for more fudge, it was truly decadent and worth the calories!! A must try....and the next time I'll be back for the burgers!!

Was that curry I detected on the grilled chicken sandwich? Whatever it was, not a fan. Burger and fries were good.

No, we do not use curry on any of our food. We use our house seasoning with no MSG.

    Any gluten free buns available?

Sorry we do not have gluten free buns. We only carry brioche, texas toast, and pretzel buns.

It was a nice touch that the manager came to check on us and offered a taste test of their stouts; Eunoia Batch 21 and What Could Be 35. So good!! Phase Three Brewery Company in Elmhurst, a must-visit for anyone who appreciates unique, well-crafted beers. Their house brews paired perfectly with the food and are worth the visit on their own. I had the Day Drift, Blood Orange, Calamansi, so refreshing!! I should have ordered the 16 ounces!! The Shanghai Lumpia was delicious, crispy, golden, and packed with flavor. The Duck Corn Dogs were another standout, perfectly cooked, tender and moist. The banana ketchup added a layer of flavor. I originally came for the adobo, but unfortunately they had already sold out. Instead, I ordered the Double Dip Korean Style Fried Chicken Sandwich, and I'm glad I did! The chicken breast was incredibly tender, juicy, and savory--absolutely delicious. To finish, I had the Ube Cheesecake. Rich, creamy, and wonderfully decadent without being overwhelming. Needless to say, I'll definitely be back for that adobo I missed and, of course, to enjoy a few more of those amazing craft beers.

Their flagships are solid and they always have a healthy number of experimental brews. Best of all the worlds! This time we both got IPAS and loved them all: Trail Trip, West Coast Pixel, and Swells! Trail Trip was my favorite because I prefer non-hazy. For dinner I got the double-dipped fried chicken sandwich with a side of fries. YUM! Bursting with flavor and deliciousness! The spicy gochujang sauce is divine! And super filling! My husband did the OG Burger, Fries, and 10 oz beer for $15 Monday/Tuesday deal. He loved the food, drink, and the deal! The space is so clean, open, and inviting. The front dinning area is spacious enough with plenty of seating and the bar, but there is also a fantastic outdoor space. The servers will all friendly, helpful, and professional. Things can move a little slowly, but it is worth the wait! On busy weekend nights, they do have online reservations, so that can be a good way to secure a spot! Next time we are in Elmhurst, we will definitely be back. We love Phase 3!
