Our trip to Bar Louie...I mean Hamlin Pub...was great. Now that the Hammy moved in things have stepped up a notch! As you may remember in last season's stunning finale, Bar Louie had closed due to lots of crazy shenanigans. Bad service, food, management, ect.... Gone is the Bar Louie staff and management who didn't care if you got food or not. Gone is the absurd wait times. Gone are the sticky floors and unwashed tables, because the staff didn't care. Gone are the servers who looked like they crawled out of the gutter. Gone are the hipster bartenders who...actually, they are still here. Still acting as if you are ruining their day by ordering a two hearted lol. Oh I kid, hipster bartenders are part of the show. Tattoos, got 'em, some kind of beard?, yep! attitude, yes please! Water refills, lol, see ya later weakling! I do enjoy sitting at the bar seeing how long I can maintain eye contact with the bartenders. Current record is 10 seconds. Those crazy characters make me laugh. So pull up a chair at Not Bar Louie - you will be impressed! read more

The Hamlin Pub - Rochester just opened in the old Bar Louie location and it is a welcome addition to the Rochester area. The service was excellent and the food selection was very good. It's your classic bar, with a fine selection of beers and a lively atmosphere. I plan on coming again. read more

Tonight we went to Hamlin pub for dinner. We were ready for something to go into the old bar Louie. We sat at the bar, it was a full restaurant but we loved sitting at the bar. Will was our waiter, very friendly and personable. Allie also was behind the bar and she was very friendly. Great pizza, good beer selection but no Malibu... but not a problem. Went in with my family for lunch and was turned away because of my working service dog. (diabetic alert service dog) was told okland county had strict laws about service dogs?? I have been to plenty of other places in oakland county with my service animal and never had any issues. I would not recommend this place as they are bias to people with disabilities. read more

The rudest hostess experience I've ever encountered ... workers and the food are miserable

Pretty solid bar with affordable drinks and food. The space feels quite lively with lots of TVs and even live music on some nights. Staff was all very friendly. We enjoyed the beef nacho supreme, fish n chips, and boneless wings, along with some drinks. Great location to chill with some friends. Definitely check out their happy hour! read more

STAY AWAY! I had the worse experience today. My co-workers and I were talked to so disrespectfully and BANNED from the restaurant by the manager because my co-worker let the waitress know that her fries were cold and that I had a long piece of blonde hair stuck on my burger. I've never been so humiliated in my life. We have reported this restaurant to corporate and we are awaiting a call back. read more

Have gone to Hamlin Pubs for a long time, but this one has problems. Just walked in and sat at the bar for 10 minutes and did not have anybody wait on us, let alone acknowledge us. We had hope when one of the bartenders, who was really focused on the tv clicker, made a loop around the bar. Unfortunately he walked by the couple next to us who was waiting to order food and had empty drinks, then us, then another couple trying to pay. Guy was useless. I am a regular customer coming to this place to support local businesses, my friends and I came to watch the USA soccer game thinking it was the right place. At the same time was the Wal vs Eng soccer game. Both games started at 2:00 pm . First, they have only the other game rather than the USA game. They finally fixed it but they have more TVs on the Wal vs Eng game than the USA game. I asked very politely the manager to change the TVs in front of us, he was very rude and impolite replying to us that he will not change the channel for the tv next to the other. (attached pic). All the tables next to us were cheering for the USA game. I am wondering if with many TVs in this place the manager can help us out. This is not the way managers should treat customers, especially regular ones. I hope he knows his role is to make happy customers. We have ordered takeout twice and eaten in once (very loud). While the food was decent, they gave us large salads when we ordered side salads with entrees and they charge a fee per takeout container. We ended up paying an extra $10 for salads we didn't order and $3.40 for the containers. Ridiculous! read more

There is no shade for outdoor sitting, there are umbrellas but the way the sun go downs it really sits the customer if you are the unlucky one. The staff response to that was " just wait,the sun will go down in 5mins" which it never did or " you are free to sit wherever you want." Pretty much didn't offer any help considering they serve people everyday to know where there would be good seating spot without the direct sun at that particular time in their establishment to keep their customers comfortable in having a enjoyable time to wanting to come back. So if you go I would advise not taking the outdoor sitting option when the sun is turning down between the hours of 6-8pm. read more

Went in and met with manager next day and was told that that special only counts for Hamlin and Rochester location. She would not offer anything to make up for this. We have been to this pub (old Bar Louis) several times since it opened and have always been very happy: good food with ample servings and excellent service in spite of being really crowded. It has a varied menu and great selection of beers and other alcohol. The iced tea was fresh brewed and terrific, too. We will be regulars. read more

I have been going to Hamlin Pub with my friends for years and I have managed restaurants in the past in various locations. I am from California, but visit Michigan often to see friends and family. I wanted to try the new location, and I will never come back. We first had a drink at the bar, and the bartender, Will, was great and attentive and the bar backs were very kind and friendly as well, I would come back for the bar. We moved to sit at a table and ordered food, and the food was good. However, the shorter, old, manager walked around with a towel in his hand washing the tables and never asked us how our meal was or how we were doing, and would walk past us multiple times. It was rude, and inconsiderate, and I will not be returning after this. It seems like he did not care about his customers and all he wanted to do was get the tables clean to try to make more money instead of assisting to the customers like he should. He did not seem to treat his employees well and would completely ignore them when they would ask him questions or tell them "wait a minute". He disappeared for a while in the back and I did not see him for the rest of out visit. Will not be returning. read more
