Cool vibe going on here. The salon is super busy, it seems like a ton of stylists are employed here and they are all busy doing a ton of people's hair. In fact, it's hard to walk around without bumping into somebody. Jamie Lee cut my hair and she is outstanding. She really understands baby fine hair like mine. I loved my blow out...I'm on my third day and it still looks good. My only complaint about the salon is the acoustics here. The salon itself is pretty much built right into a parking structure. It sounds hollow in there and every sound, every voice, every blow dryer, every footstep is magnified to the tenth power. It was borderline disturbing...to me anyway. After many hair cuts gone wrong... I had some serious trust issues. I went in to see Jaime F. today and her sweet and kind demeanor and willingness to listen put me right at ease. She listened to everything I had to say and was so attentive to give me exactly what I was looking for. She also made sure I knew the outcome of every decision we made before settling on anything and walked me through each step, the whole way, working little by little. She also spoke the truth, in love, and I'm so appreciative of that because her honesty, and willingness to walk me through what my ideas of a good haircut were, kept me from asking for all the wrong things, and getting all the wrong things. Had she not been patient, and had she just looked at me as just another client, I would have been given what I asked for and likely not have been very happy. After my hair was colored it felt like silk! She even straightened and styled my hair after and when i went out that night I got so many compliments! This review is for ALEX ABSTON; First I'd like to start by saying that getting your hair done should be the most fabulously pampering experience ever. Alex makes that possible for me every time I visit. She's done my cuts/ colors and funky do's for television appearances; she even made my usually stubborn hair stay all day and night as a bridesmaid at a wedding. I love that she's hip, and ahead of fashion; this way I know I'm never behind on trends. Alex is just a lovely person and makes you feel like a princess the entire visit. Back in 2011, I was on a budget (more-so than I am now) and went online to find some deals maybe... I usually don't try to find "deals" for hair salons because I usually experience the whole "you get what you paid for". After digging through reviews and deals, I found Ashley Rae that was running a promotion. I scheduled an appointment, and have been going to her ever since. I usually get a Brazilian Blowout and sometimes highlights or ombre/tints, whatever I'm feeling. The Brazilian is awesome, saves me so much time. And Ash is AMAZING with color. Just sayin'... somehow she knows what I want after I ramble on about what I want to have done. I almost don't understand what I'm trying to explain sometimes :p The ONLY reason I gave the salon 4 stars is because it's somewhat pricey like every other great salon. But that being said they SHOULD charge this much. You get what you paid for. I'm just a middle class citizen trying to enjoy to a few nice things this life has to offer - like being pampered once in awhile!! read more

So I had just moved to newport a few months ago and I was on the search for a new salon. I found one (NOT HAMPTON) that had good reviews and made an appointment with one of their stylist that "specializes" in blondes. (Btw I'm naturally a darker brunette) I wanted to get my roots touched up and go a tad lighter, which I admit may have been a little much for the first time trying out a new spot. Needless to say as the girl was brushing out my hair I could see the fried ends of my long hair breaking off and the bright blonde I wanted was no where to be found. Instead she had turned my hair grey. Grey is beautiful... just not on me and not what I wanted at all. Mortified, I just left. (I won't go into horrific details) I waited a week or so and just couldn't bare it. I went to a cheaper salon (couldn't afford splurging on another one because yes I had to pay the other place ‍) to see if they could salvage it. They did their best to help and add in some low lights and deep conditioned it like crazy. After waiting two months, to give my hair a break, I searched for a top rated stylist that does color corrections and works with blondes. And that is where I found Arthur at Hampton Salon. I went in there, gross dull blonde hair with copper streaks and breakage like crazy, and explained my ordeal. I told him that it had taken me two years to go blonde the healthier (slower) way and to have something like this happen to me was devastating. He understood and immediately asked me what I was expecting from this visit, what I wanted my end results to be eventually and then broke down what he could do. He was straight forward, honest, and knowledgeable about what my type of hair can withstand and reasons why it was looking the way it was now. I can't tell you enough how much better it looks and just how much the overall condition has improved. He really worked magic and took care of my hair! I did have to cut off a few inches, which I expected, but it was worth these overall results. My hair is finally in a great place where it looks great, I'm happy and not holding back tears styling it every morning. The best part is I can wait a little longer in between visits to help it grow and get back to healthy because of how he blended my roots in to the blonde. I'm so thankful I found Arthur. Seriously, GO TO HIM! You won't be disappointed. read more

I love Alina, she always does a wonderful job on my hair. She cut it once and it grew out like crazy, and I had been having issues with it growing long again due to iron deficiency but she listens well and has great style.
