I would give 1 star but 2 stars because our server was friendly. I have never seen such high prices before.. Almost $14 for shrimp tempura appetizer and my basic crunch roll was almost $18! I love Hana sushi and I have been coming here for years, but today I had oysters and a signature roll. I ate two oysters, and as I was eating the third one a bug like a worm, jumped out of the oyster onto my plate where I had eaten my roll And it was moving around and alive!!!!!!! After I sent the server with the plate not thinking I should've taken a picture, but I was so grossed out. I thought a manager would come out and talk to me and apologize and she never came out. The server came to give me my bill, and the oysters were charged onto my bill, hence I shouldn't be paying for anything finding a live bug jumping around on my plate after I have already eaten all my food. Then the server said that the manager said that it was a piece of calamari. Hence this bug was black and they weren't gonna take the oysters off of my check, I got up, went to the front and told him I shouldn't be paying for none of my food. Specially not the oysters they took off the oysters and the server came back and had even seen the bug moving himself!! he apologized, and I left. We kept asking our waitress and at the very end she said they didn't get her ticket she brought us the manager because she was arguing with the kitchen apparently because they didn't want to make the kids platters but the manager wasn't any help and just said she would have the kitchen make it, we cancelled and she thought bringing ice cream was good enough rather than giving us a discount I had to get up and ask her why she couldn't discount us for waiting that long for our food she looked bothered and brought us our check with a 10% discount .. we come here all the time and many people we know, we will not be going back again. read more

I called to order 4 rolls and was repeated my order back to me by the lady on the phone to confirm for a total of $50. My boyfriend picked up the order for us and was repeated the order back to him as well. When he brought it home, there were only 3 rolls. We called the restaurant to see if one was left behind and they said we only ordered 3 rolls and not 4 even though it was confirmed twice that we ordered 4. They didn't offer to make a fourth one or any type of resolution. It's frustrating because I'm pregnant and can only have baked rolls so I wasn't even able to share with the 2 rolls my boyfriend got. Not to mention that I wouldn't have completed my order if I had known i was paying $50 for THREE rolls. Too expensive and misleading because they don't offer the prices on the menu online and the sushi from this location isn't that great. I had only been to Hana a couple of times for happy hour so I'm not too familiar with the pricing. Also, frustrating how happy hour can only be taken advantage of when dining in. I would suggest making that an option if you are ordering to go as well. Lastly, when I went to eat there last time (at the temecula location) with a they forgot my friend's soy sauce, then apologized for forgetting the soy sauce, and didn't come back to replace the forgotten soy sauce. I don't eat sea food so I'm kind stuck with a few items here, but I never have a problem when I come. I always get vegetable tempura are usually get the beef tip rib meat (sorry I'm a bad yelper can't remember what it's called) but it's tasty. I love the ice tea as well it's passion fruit and filled with ice, you be amazed how many people and put ice and ice tea at restaurants. I get the miso soup with just broth and green onions. I have always dined here with a guest, and you know what, they have always love the sushi and I've never heard a complaint. I'm updating this review on the basis of my experience on April 22nd. I normally get a Hea Dup Pab and that's what I got, except for a couple things. They gave it to me without the go chu jang and the long spoon. What this review is really about is my interaction. I ordered brown rice and extra fish for it. The Asian server with glasses had came back to our table and explained that extra fish had costed a lot more so we just canceled it and he confirmed it. When the bowl arrived, it looked like there was extra fish so I had to confirm with another white server and he said it was regular fish. So we had two different people confirm it was regular fish. When the check arrived, we were charged for double fish which came out to an extra $8. We told the Asian cashier woman and she said the only thing she can do is give $5 off. $5 off for a mistake that was done on the servers' parts? If you make a mistake in the customer service industry, own up to it. We will not be coming back to this location for my experience on April 22nd, 2017 at 8:30PM. They've just lost loyal customers. read more

I'm not a sushi person but my family is. We have been here twice before. They ordered sushi and I order the katsu chicken!! It's very nice inside and there is a bar too !! The service is always great I have tried katsu chicken at other restaurants in L.A. and this one was lacking flavor. I used to get sushi here regularly and my husband would get the Katsu. We just ordered lunch and the katsu was surprisingly expensive and terrible quality. It was over $20 for the one entree and the chicken cutlets were so thin and over fried, they were like breaded chicken jerky.
