Is it really "goals"? This was their Goal Omakase Premium, 52$. They've also got a regular omakase ($37) and an omakase box ($66), but honestly this middle lane feels like the sweet spot. The fish? Extremely fresh. No goofy garnishes, just clean cuts. You get to choose between a toro roll or snow crab roll--crab's solid, but for me toro wins every time. Miso soup was decent, nothing crazy. What I like about Goal Sushi is the way they set up their menu. A range of price points, plus sauce options from citrus aioli to yuzu miso, so you can tailor the box to your vibe. That's a business model I respect. Bottom line: This is really good sushi. Not "king of the city" good, but definitely worth the money. Grade: A- For more NYC sushi reviews, follow along at The Raw Report.

I never thought that I could get omakase delivered to my door! Though I didn't get to visit Goal Omakase directly, a dear friend ordered me a delivery meal because she knew that I was in the midst of packing my apt. I tried the Goal Omakase Premium box, which came with 10pc chef's choice nigiri, 1 roll, and miso soup. Everything was delicious-- I can't believe that I didn't know it was near me!

Wow, amazing takeout sushi! Tried a few maki rolls and the spicy set of three rolls. The spicy rolls were pretty similar to each other The spicy scallop roll had wonderful texture and was delicious. Also, the snow crab avocado roll was amazing--like a way better California roll :) The salmon maki was fresh and a decent size--sometimes these are on the small side at other spots. Would like to try their nigiri next time!

$35 for so much sushi! The fish tasted fresh and I was surprised to get both a little salad and miso soup with each lunch set. I got two lunch set, the sushi set - 6 pieces of chef's choice nigiri and tuna roll, and the 2 roll set - I chose eel avocado and yellowtail scallion. Each piece of nigiri was delicious. I started with the tamago egg nigiri first, because it's usually pretty lackluster to me, but I was pleasantly surprised! It tasted like there was some pieces of nori in the egg and it was seasoned very well. My favorite was the toro because I prefer fattier fish. My next favorite was the eel avocado roll. As one of the choices on the 2 roll lunch set option, I thought this was a really good pick! The portion was good and it was surprisingly filling. The yellowtail scallion was yummy too, but not as filling. The service was quick and friendly and this makes for a great takeout sushi place in UES! They very kindly let me sit inside on one of two stools. I then realized the menu mentions this place is take out and delivery only! Thank you Goal Omakase Sushi for the yummy meal!

Lots of options for different combos and great prices for how fresh the fish is. No seating, takeout or delivery only.

Try: Snow Crab Avocado Salad and Sushi Set! Why: Fresh and delicious fish at a convenient takeout Sushi location. I enjoyed the Snow Crab Avocado Salad since it was plentiful of avocado slices. The 8 piece nigiri were all fantastic. I had the Salmon Roll and Miso Soup as well, which were also great. Note: I submitted an order on my train ride back home and within 12 mins it was ready! The worker was friendly when I walked in. Cute small shop!

Primarily a takeout spot. There is a very small counter with two seats you can sit and eat if you would like. The view is not great, it's that of the trash. I decided to go all out and try the goal omakase premium , which had ten pieces of nigiri and a Negi tuna roll. The presentation was pretty and fish was actually quite good and fresh. They had some interesting toppings for omakase. I wish they provided some details about each fish / topping. The only downfall was that the rice was a little too vinegary, which distracted the flavor of the fish. The rice was also too wet. I would come back and try the lunch special.

Nice takeout sushi spot in the UES. The interior is very small, so I don't really think you're meant to dine in. We ordered their regular omakase set and were pleasantly surprised with the freshness of the fish and the variety included in the set. Everything was delicious and it perfectly satisfied our sushi craving. We also tried a few of their normal sushi rolls and were very happy with it as well. Our order was prepared very quickly and it was pretty much ready by the time we walked over to the restaurant.

So good! Have gotten delivery from them twice now, a perfect more high-end option for sushi delivery. Two of us split the omakase for two and it was a perfect (or slightly large) portion. Really good value, fresh fish, will continue to order!

Best sushi takeout I've had in nyc! The fish is fresh, prices are great, and service is amazing! Please order from them directly! It's cheaper! This is the lunch special that comes with miso and a salad!

Salmon Ikura Donburi, Jumbo Toro Roll
    Queenie H.

Ordered for delivery. The donburi came with choice of soup or salad and came with small sides in the bowl. I thought the donburi was good, but the salmon slices were a bit too thin for the amount of rice you get. I really liked the jumbo toro roll. I would order again to try the nigiri, but probably wouldn't get the donburi again.

    10 pieces Omakase

Ordered delivery recently from this new place, got the 10 piece omakase that as comes with a roll of your choice (went for the negitoro one) for 50 bucks. The pieces were all very fresh and flavorful, will certainly be back to try other menu items. Thought it was overall a decent value.

Delicious and fresh, all for $50. Great deal! Took about 15 mins to prep so if you want to order for lunch call them in advance

The atmosphere here was a bit more lively and crowded compared to the more relaxed vibe of the UWS spot. I enjoyed my meal even more this time around. I started with the beet salad, which was delicious and offered great value given the generous portion size. it featured sliced beets, arugula, goat cheese, and walnuts. I also had my eye on the hijiki soybean salad--which is a bit smaller and reportedly homemade--so I may try that next time, along with the warm mushroom salad which looked very tasty. The edamame was standard but served as a nice starter. For my main rolls, I chose the salmon avocado and the yellowtail scallion. Both were very fresh and definitely worth ordering again. The salmon avocado roll had a nice touch of sesame seeds on the rice, while the yellowtail scallion was prepared with the seaweed on the outside. My boyfriend's sushi entree looked excellent, so I am considering that or the sushi-sashimi combo for my next visit. The entrees provide a substantial amount of food, and I especially appreciate that they allow you to choose which roll comes with your meal.

To be honest, I was getting a little nauseated after 5 pieces, haha~ They were definitely delicious but I'd probably just eat 3 or 4 pieces and share with a friend! It was easy to text the number on the website and coordinate a pickup time, and the staff was friendly when I arrived. The katsu was very, very moist on the inside, with a crispy batter that was so light it was almost flavorless. I honestly couldn't really tell the difference between the tenderloin and pork loin. Overall the dish had a very light flavor and I added quite a bit of sauce and wasabi. Some of the less memorable dishes were the eggplant agebitashi and truffle rice. The eggplant agebitashi tasted like a cross between an eggplant parm and a bolognese. The truffle rice had a very strong truffle flavor that ended up overpowering everything else in the dish. I thought the slices of raw button mushrooms were a little strange. I really enjoyed the sabazushi. The pieces of mackerel were thick and carried a lot of that characteristic mackerel oily flavor, but the oiliness was cut by enough vinegar to balance everything out. The niku udon was also a surprise hit. The noodles were wide, flat, super slurpy, and the broth carried a deep umami flavor. Overall, I had a pretty solid experience here.
