Pistachio Halva Rice Krispie Treat (or Crispy Treat as per menu.) $7.50. Large and tasty. Very lightly sweet
    Glenn C.

Note: Their menu, outside of a couple of offerings, changes pretty frequently or changes up the ingredients, so the pastries I got and liked might not be the same pastries. I had first tried this tasty bakery's products back at Eater Off Menu, which was just about a year ago, back in September. They were giving large slices of their famous Carrot Cake, which was very tasty. Compared to most, the buttercream was better, as it was silky, and it was slightly differently spiced than a typical carrot cake. I slightly preferred the texture and flavor of the more traditional Lloyd's, but it was a fun rendition. The other time was a few months ago, as per many of my other recent reviews. There was a bit of a line with plenty of people going in and sitting down, while others like me and others who I was with were taking stuff to go. One of the owners, Miro Uskoković, was outside and greeting customers, and he seemed very friendly from the short interaction I had with him. I ordered two pastries to go, a signature and something seasonal that I was interested in. The signature pastry I got was the $7.50 Pistachio Halva Rice Krispie/Crispy Treat. By comparison to a typical rice crispy, it was a bit denser, and I liked how chewy it was. There was a bit of nuttiness from both of the ingredients, with some pistachios studding the outside as well. Outside of the nuttiness, I appreciated that it wasn't overly sweet. Overall, I liked it a lot, and if the lines weren't super long, I would probably stop in more often for this as a large snack to take home. The other pastry was a Sour Cherry Coffee Cake, with nutty oat streusel and mahleb for $6. Like the other dessert, it was lightly sweet, with the pastry being soft. The oats were slightly crisp with some nuttiness and a mix of interesting spices, presumably also from the mahleb. There was plenty of sour cherry inside to balance out the spices and add more texture. Overall, I preferred this. I can see why people like this place a lot. It's a bit pricier, but they make fun, tasty spins on your typical pastry, and I don't find the prices too egregious compared to some other spots.

I had been yearning for an iced Maple Sea Salt Latte. As it had been some time since I was here it was high time. The coffee was delicious and I paired it with a fat slice of the Strawberry and Elderflower cake. While the cake was creamy, the flavor was muted and I found the fluffy cream to be overpowering. As I left I saw a sheet pan of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies ready to be put in the display case. I asked for one with being put in the display case. I asked for one with the most chocolate. Yum! I nibbled on it at home and while I was writing this review. Nibbling little by little prolongs the treat while sending me to nirvana! It's always a pleasure to be at Hani's where the treats tempt but most of all the customer service is why I like it, Joyce is friendly and kind. Today I met Enrique. He, too, was kind.

Everything at Hanni's looked SO GOOD, it was hard to choose what to get! After asking for recs from the barista, I ended up having the Strawberry Passionfruit Croissant, Chocolate chip cookie, and maple sea salt latte. The strawberry passion fruit croissant was my favorite! The tartness of the passion fruit filling and sweetness of the strawberries balanced each other well. I love a thin chocolate chip cookie and the sea salt sprinkled on top was a nice touch. The latte was yummy and the cold foam was AMAZING. They have some booth and bar seating to dine in.

This ginormous chocolate chip cookie was delicious!

Great spot for desserts & high quality iced coffee! There were so many choices from desserts to sandwiches to drinks. We got the following to try: 1) triple chocolate chunk cookie, 2) pistachio raspberry rose tea scone, 3) carrot cake, 4) berry elderflower shortcake, 5) iced coffee, 6) cherry yuzu expresso cloud drink. Triple chocolate chunk cookie - WOW! This item was one of my favs from here & it was delicious. The cookie was crunchy, soft&chewy, sweet and salty. This was a high quality chocolate chip cookie. I would reorder this! Don't let the ginormous size fool you. It tasted even better the next day. Pistachio raspberry rose tea scone - beautifully made but it didn't taste like a scone but felt like a corn bread after awhile. The top part tasted like raspberry jam which was tart (didn't really taste the rose or tea part) and the "scone" part I did taste the pistachio. This dessert was not that sweet, tasted tart and nutty. Happy to try this but I would try something else. Carrot cake was their best seller - The carrot cake was high quality and super soft. The cream was very delicious but after awhile I got full very quickly. They added some salt to the carrot cake so it was different for me. I lovveee carrot cakes as it is one of my favorites but I think I will stick with one with no salt in it. Berry elderflower shortcake - I thought it was a strawberry shortcake at first. But this item was another favorite here. Super soft, delicious, with the right amount of sweetness. Iced coffee was excellent quality & complemented the desserts well. The cherry yuzu expresso cloud was good and tasty but I preferred the iced coffee. Friendly staff and fast service. There is seating inside but it is limited & it is first come first serve (self service). You have to line up and wait till someone leaves to sit.

After 400 Instagram reels telling me to try Hani's, I did - I went & did the most nyc thing ever & waited in line for food. there were about 10 people in front of us & the line moved pretty quickly. probs 10 minutes outside on the sidewalk then 3 mins inside - I am happy to report this pastry joint also had good coffee. I got an iced americano with a splash of almond milk which they let me pour myself from a little pitcher. the espresso was smooth and the almond milk was clearly not that trash almond breeze brand - I got the malted cinnamon roll. duh. the roll is soft with a stretchy consistency in the dough. the frosting is the perfect mix of sweet vanilla bean with a rich tang from the malted flavor. I wish there was a bit more frosting between the grooves however as it sat in the sun the frosting dripped down between the layers.

This is a cute bakery and their AC works which is great on a hot summer day, lol! I also saw a bunch of instagram posts about this place so I stopped by. There were quite a few pastries, cookies, and cakes to pick from. So I got the item I saw which was the pistachio rice crispy. It's huge. I do wish it was smaller so then I could try mulitple items but what can you do when you solo travel. :P The rice crispy was very soft and chewy and I really enjoyed the flavor as well. I haven't had one of these in years but this was worth a try. Until next time. SYOY!

Obsessed with the chocolate chip cookie and the cinnamon roll. I don't know how they were so good, but they were. The carrot cake was fine; it was a bit bland in my opinion. No line around noon on a Saturday, but the seating area was all filled up with people waiting. We managed to snag a table as people were leaving, but it was a bit annoying having to get the food to go, as we weren't sure if we'd be able to get seating (it's first-come first-serve).

Small bakery that sells out of a number baked goods by noon. So, that means this place is tasty! I got here by 1pm and grabbed a slice of carrot cake and their honey cake and got a booth that fits about 4 very small people in the back. The cakes were a really large portion and we didn't finish it all. So when they ask for here or to go, ask to take them to go even if you eat it in the bakery. The carrot cake was so good. It had carrot and coconut like frosting and a lot of other flavors. Just loved it. The honey cake is not like a Russian honey cake. It's a frosted cake that tasted like gram crackers? So it was more like a s'more cake? It was good but I was expecting something else. Overall, great place and worth getting a bite!

    Shakshuka Croissant Tart

My sister is obsessed with Hani's Bakery and took me there on a Saturday morning. There was a line out the door, but it moved fairly quickly. When we got inside, we ordered the Souffle Egg Sandwich, Shakshuka Croissant Tart, Meyer Lemon Meringue Pie, and Cookie Butter Monkey Bread. The interior was tiny but we managed to snag a small table right away. The first item we tried was the Shakshuka Croissant Tart, which might have been my favorite. The pastry was perfectly flakey and I loved the runny egg with feta cheese. Next, we tried the Meyer Lemon Meringue Pie and Cookie Butter Monkey Bread. Both of these were awesome, although the monkey bread was a bit too decadent for me. Again, great textures all around! The Souffle Egg Sandwich sandwich took a while to come out, but was worth the wait. I loved the milk bread, and green sauce was the perfect tangy compliment to the creamy cheesy eggs. For drinks, I had asked the guy at the counter which ones had coffee and he recommended the Cherry-Yuzu Espresso Cloud. Honestly, he kind of led me astray with that one. While it was tasty, this drink felt barely caffeinated. I should've gone with the Maple Sea Salt Latte! Overall though, we left happy and incredibly full.

The workers were attentive and made sure to get to every customer or at least acknowledge their wait time despite how busy it was inside the bakery, that was very appreciated. The food and drink matched the service also. I got the maple sea salt coffee which was perfect. The maple flavor wasn't overly syrup tasting or sweet, and the cold foam added a great savory salty contrast that lasted long after the foam mixed in the drink. The chocolate chip cookie was also really good, it used 3 different types of chocolate which all complemented each other, the sea salt was the perfect touch. The cookie had the right amount of crunch while also being soft, not underbaked at all. Well worth the hype

Hani's Bakery in the East Village is a highly touted bakery serving both classic and creative pastries. We ordered the Turkey Swiss croissant, the cheddar scallion scone, triple chocolate chip cookie and malted cinnamon bun. Everything was very tasty with the scone being our favorite with the bunch. Hani's makes for a delicious breakfast run or afternoon sweet treat

Hani's was part of my food crawl with my other friend who loves bakeries and honestly we both didn't understand the hype. We got their chocolate chip cookie and carrot cake, which I think they're pretty well known for. I found both to be too sweet and for the price, I was hoping for a little more. The vibes in the bakery are quite cozy, making it a nice place to chat and relax while enjoying the pastries and desserts here.

{Overall: 4.25; Food: 4.25} Ambiance: 4; Service: 4 Hani's Bakery is a very fun spot. The space is clean, bright, and the pastries are incredibly appealing. I usually try to come on a weekday afternoon to avoid the line. For a greater selection, come by 1 pm at the latest. I've tried: *Malted Cinnamon Bun: My favorite thing I've had here so far. The bun is pillowy and soft, and the frosting strikes the perfect balance between sweetness and cream cheese tanginess. The malt adds a balances the sweetness. One of the best cinnamon buns I've had. *Brown Butter Carrot Cake: Very good. Not overly sweet and has great flavor that is more unique than the classic version. *Hani's Honey Cake: Good, but not my cup of tea. I think you need to already enjoy honey cake as a dessert to fully love it. It's a light and airy cake that isn't too sweet. *Triple Chocolate Chunk Cookie: Extremely decadent and especially delicious when served warm. That said, I'm not sure it's worth $8 given how many great chocolate chip cookies you can find around the city. The Cinnamon Bun and Carrot Cake would keep me coming back.

When you enter there is a bar you can sit at and two large high top tables next to it. As you walk further in there is a lounge with couches and various sizes tables. The whole space is surrounded by books! Heaven! We ordered a chai, matcha and a ginger cookie. Shout out to the woman taking my order for comping me my drink for my birthday! Everyone from the staff was friendly - I really enjoyed being there. The only thing I would say is someone should come by to check on the tables more often as I had to return other people's abandoned drinks. But you know what first world problems, am I right? Maybe they can have a sign or mention to customers to return their own cups before leaving. I sort of can't imagine why people don't... It is quite popular spot so you need to be very patient and strategic if you want to grab a table, as well as sprinkled with a little bit of luck. We unfortunately got there a little late. I went there at 3pm and hunted for a table and my friend got there by 330pm. By the time we ordered and started drinking our coffees - we were informed the lounge area will be closed at 4pm to prepare for the evening wine bar. Oh right this cafe turns into a wine bar in the evenings! How cool! At 4pm we thankfully grabbed one of the high tables - sharing it with another couple but it was large enough for the 4 of us. The lights dimmed and the atmosphere changed to more intimate. We unfortunately had to leave at 5pm, but I imagined picking up a James Baldwin book, ordering some white wine and enjoying both.... My last bite was also a mouthful of feta which I had thought was egg lol, it was honestly hard for me to get down.
