This early gray cake was one of the best bites of dessert that I tried while in New York. First off, the inside was super cute with the floral theme. Although the slice was expensive for how small, it was definitely worth it. First off, the presentation was beautiful, I liked how the flowers matched the theme of the shop and give it a delicate appeal. Then comes the taste. I have a pretty large sweet tooth, but somehow this cake satisfied it without it being too sweet. I loved how tart, sweet, and warm it tasted. All the flavors came together beautifully. Even the next day, the last few bites were moist. I think about this slice of cake often and hope to be able to try other flavors!

Not only are the cakes beautifully decorated, they are just as delicious. I had the Carrot Cake and Earl Grey Vanilla ($10 each) and I couldn't even decide which one I liked more. The buttercream is so velvety and creamy while the sponge cake is incredibly moist. Also love how strong the flavors are, especially the earl grey which really shined. I'm obsessed with these cake slices. And they're also individually packaged in the cutest boxes --perfect for gift giving.

The carrot cake here is fire! The staff was very sweet and they have fresh slices, banana bread, and so much more! There is very little seating so be ready to take your items outside or to go. Definitely would come back to try other baked goods!
Some of the most beautifully aesthetic cakes I've ever seen. The carrot cake was so delicious and also has no nuts. The frosting was not too sweet and surprisingly I loved this a lot. The cookie was yummy as well but unfortunately thought it was too greasy. Great service and a small area to sit by the window.

They are truly slices of artistry! These masterpieces are exactly what I was looking for an event I was having and I decided to place an order. The online ordering process is absolutely seamless and might only take longer if you have a custom request. I arrived right around my pickup window time and the cake was ready; I was in & out within 5 minutes. My one complaint was that they put it in a box that didn't close. I wonder if they purposely left it open for air circulation? I don't know. It was for an event that was taking place 6 hours later so we kept it in the fridge and took it out about 1-2 hours before and it was just right. The lavender buttercream was a lot thicker than expected and the lavender was extremely light to taste. The lemon olive oil cake was fantastic as it's not too heavy, too sweet, or too rich. I would absolutely come back to try Lucie's cake slices & cookies and super excited for her success!
I ordered my birthday cake From Lucie and it was perfect. I don't think I can stop dreaming about it (espresso double chocolate cake!). Everyone was super sweet for the pick up!

From Lucie's carrot cake transported me to Lagos, Portugal, where I had the "best carrot cake ever" from a spot named From Alex (!). The similarities are uncanny. It's crazy I found the best carrot cake ever --again --state side and I truly love this so much for me and all of us. You need to experience it too, trust me. This one includes a beautiful stem and is just so damn pretty. Honestly just the creme fraîche alone had me weakkkkk. The most perfect bite. You don't want to eat it all too fast. This is meant to be savored. I saved half for the next day and it tasted just as good. Worth every bit of the $10. Happy the rumors about the best chocolate chip cookie got me here. That was really good too. The sweet to salty to bitter to butter ratio is on point. It packs so many layers for a thin cookie. The chocolate is quality. I was very impressed. Got the chocolate chip cookie and the chocolate stout cake both were so good but not my favorite in the city. I prefer a chewier thicker cookie. The richness and the chocolate of the cookie was great though. The rosemary cream cheese frosting on the chocolate stout cake is really subtle, but still really good and rich. I want to come back and try more and support this woman owned business!!

From Lucie is a darling bakery with equally lovely bakes. Their cakes are aspirational: perfectly moist with delicious layers of delicate frosting. Their carrot cake is phenomenal, and so is their Victoria sponge. The chocolate chip is decadent and melty, perhaps too rich for my taste, but I can see that it's well made. I love this quaint little shop. I'm planning to return for the almond croissant cookie, and maybe even buy the cookbook! read more

The brightly colored lemon curd has a sour, but lively flavor. Freshly chopped thyme is infused in the shortbread crust. I cannot fathom why the color of the crust on the other side is completely different. Regardless of color, this bar is an "A" all the way! Seating is limited to a narrow table with a couple stools and some outdoor tables. Due to its popularity, this local bakery is always filled with customers. I am not even a huge cake person but the cakes here were absolutely delicious. Shares two slices, the vanilla and the carrot cake. Sat outside, seating is very limited, there's maybe 3-4 extra tables outside. The cake was fantastic, one of the best I had that I can recall. The cake itself was so moist. The cream was delicious and airy. I would say that was the best vanilla cake I've ever had. And of course, they were beautiful to look at. The carrot cake was also good, but definitely the star for me was the vanilla. Cake may be a bit sweet to some, I thought it was fine but my party felt it was a tad too sweet. I tried From Lucie's stout cake at a pop-up today and without ever stepping foot in this bakery before, I now want to go and live there and try every single cake this extraordinary Pastry Chef makes. The stout cake was unbelievable. At first I was amazed by how gorgeous the cake looked. I was in awe of the flowers, decoration, and just absolute loveliness of it. Then, I tasted it, and wow, my son and I stayed quiet for a moment. That's how special it was... I soon went around asking at this pop-up (that had nothing to do with cake) what bakery this cake was from? Who are they? What magic is this? Yes, this cake was magical...I haven't tried like it before...and if you haven't tried her cakes before either, please do. I am so happy we got to and I so look forward to trying another one of From Lucie's creation soon...very soon. If the person who made the stout cake today is reading this...thank you! I stopped in here earlier today for a late dessert I had the flourless chocolate cake which was awesome the cream and raspberry was a good call loved it!!. I was originally leaning towards the carrot cake when I walked in but I got the chocolate cake noticing they still had some left!. I can't wait to try the carrot cake though!. I've been wanting to try From Lucie since I saw the cakes on instagram. The interior is quite small and there's really only room for maybe 3 people to comfortably wait in line before it trickles outside. I specifically came for the cake, but noticed a bunch of people asking about their cookie. I ended up getting a mini carrot cake and a chocolate chip cookie, and it did not disappoint. The cake was "just right" in terms of moisture and density. There is a subtle hint of zest in the cake and it paired nicely with the frosting. I appreciated the size of the actual cake. If I wanted, I probably could've finished the whole thing in one sitting. The cookie was thinner from your usual cookie, but was the size of my face. Definitely not your average cookie but I can see what all of the rave is about! Mine was fresh, and still warm from being in the oven. The chocolate was nice and gooey. Again, a little bit on the sweeter side, but well balanced with the sea salt. Overall, I enjoyed the pastries that were offered. They are on the pricier side. The cake alone was $17, but still worth the experience. I docked one star for customer service. The gal at the register looked miserable and clearly did not want to be there. No smile, and zero customer service. read more

Wow, incredibly fond of from lucie! My roommate got me the choc for my bday and i got my mom carrot cake and earl grey vanilla for hers. All are stunning!!! The fromage frais icing on the carrot is to DYE for and the choc is nice and rich, without being cloyingly sweet. My only wish is that the vegan earl grey had more blackberry to cut through the sweet. But i will for SURE be coming back to try other things, esp the choc chip cookie. Awesome spot!! read more

Delicious! I recommend the gluten-free carrot cake--light, moist, and fluffy, with decadent fromage praise buttercream. I was also a big fan of the chocolate cake with salted dark chocolate espresso buttercream--definitely richer and more filling. There's not a lot of seating inside and it was a tiny, crowded space, so we took our cake slices to go. read more

Picked up the earl grey icing and vanilla cake since the carrot cake was sold out. Was a bit surprised the small cake was $16 but when I finally tried it back home, it was definitely worth it. The cake was so moist and had the perfect texture and just absolutely addictive and delicious. The little cake could serve two-three people. read more

We were in the area looking for a sweet treat and came across From Lucie. Initially we were only going to try the chocolate chip cookie but the almond croissant cookie sounded too intriguing to ignore. The chocolate chip cookie was good, I'm personally not a fan of salt on top of cookies but I know it's a popular thing. The almond croissant cookie was amazing in my opinion. I thought it was perfectly sweet and a great fusion treat. Their other pastries look good too and I'd love to come back and try more! read more

beautiful small bakery with a GORGEOUS cake selection! their gluten free carrot cake was divine, so moist and the icing was perfectly sweet. there is a tiny space inside for ordering and only 2 chairs, but they put tables and chairs outside so you can enjoy your pastry if it is nice out! their latte was also good and the serves were very nice. you can even look into the back kitchen to see them baking all their treats - really loved this slice read more

Although the cakes looked divine, we came for their chocolate chip cookie! Their cookie was giant, and for $5 was well worth it! The shop was so cute inside. It's a very small store, but we were able to snag one of their outside tables. Would return to try their cakes! read more

The cakes from here were delicious. We had been meaning to try this bakery spot for a while. We came and I understand that it was 6:30 and they were closing soon, so there were only a few cake options left. I really liked the vegan cake so for $11 a slice it was worth it. I tried to order a coffee but the server informed me the espresso machine was broken. They weren't particularly friendly either there. read more
I don't understand all the bad reviews, but I stopped by here after working nearby. I couldn't decide what to get, but my coworker decided on the GF Carrot Cake and I followed her lead. After reading the reviews, I wish I had gotten a chocolate chip cookie as well, but alas. I will say, the GF carrot cake was delicious. So good, in fact, that I ended up saving half the cake for my friend who is GF. I froze it, and gave it to her about 2 weeks later. It stayed well, and she did really enjoy it. The people working the counter could have been a little friendlier and a bit more helpful about the options and what they'd recommend. Honestly, I will probably be back here, because that cake was good. I'd like to see what other options they have and also would definitely want to try their chocolate chip cookie. I'd also want to try one of their vegan goods in the future. My kid has an egg allergy, but the only vegan item they had that day had an earl grey frosting which he wouldn't have enjoyed. read more
I've only heard great things about this quaint little spot and I was very excited to hear they have one of the best chocolate chip cookies in the city. I came here very full from lunch so I only grabbed a cookie but the cakes looked so beautiful and appetizing I really need to come back and try them. As for the cookie, it was pretty phenomenal. I typically like thicker cookies but this one has such perfect flavors and the best texture. The chocolate used is amazing. This was promising but it just got so bitter as I kept eating it?? Like i get the dark chocolate bit but stg they used 100% cocoa like idk- texture was good but probably wont go for this one again; also maybe i got a bad batch? maybe I need to try it on a different day. Didn't try any of the cakes which I know are the star so this is an unfair ranking of them as a whole so please keep that in mind. read more
