The food here is mostly Northern style, which makes sense because that is where Hanoi is geographically. I got the A2 egg rolls and A4 shrimp and pork spring rolls, and both were good appetizers to start. The egg rolls are especially crunchy and the spring rolls were satisfactory with enough filling of pork and shrimp inside. They seem to be on the pricier side at $6.95 and $7.95, respectively, for an order of 2 rolls. I got the E1 - Bun Cha Hanoi, which is fairly unique as I don't really see this item often if at all, when I made my rounds to some of the restaurants in OC (specifically Garden Grove / Westminster). It was my first time trying it and I enjoyed it. The soup is a little bit on the saltier side but also sweet - super fragrant with the fish sauce and garlic. There are some meatballs and pork too, which were also very flavorful. You scoop the vegetables like bean sprouts, lettuce, etc in and some of the vermicelli to soak up the flavor and you enjoy it. I also tried B0 bun bo hue which was good but I have had better - the soup is a bit more fishy that I would have anticipated. The C5 shaken chicken was also decent, a little bit of sweet and sour flavor. Minimal service as to be expected. I would have docked 1 star on that but in the end, the server did bring a water jug to refill my water cup as it has been mostly empty for the duration of the meal. At least having a server walking around and noticing someone flagging down would have been good. read more

12/1/23 Will this be our new Vietnamese/pho place, we shall see! ...well, it was worth a try. We were passing by when we just came from checking out Super King market & noticed Hanoi Kitchen. Hubby was hungry so why not? It's nothing fancy. We arrived a little after 9 pm on a Friday night & a few booths were taken up by a group of customers (a set of three booths). The host/servers motioned for us to come in & sit wherever we pleased. She immediately came by with our menus & she then returned with a couple of glasses of water. Hubby already knew he wanted the beef tendon pho & I was curious to check out their fried egg rolls. Our orders arrived shortly & we wanted to taste the broth to see if this will be our go to for pho cravings. The verdict: passable but not as rich or flavorful as Pho 2000 from Artesia. Hubby was disappointed as I was. The noodles were pretty good. The tendon was a bit of a tough chew. I prefer a little bit of a softer chew on the tendon. The egg rolls (2 small servings) were served on a bed of 2 lettuce leaves, cilantro sprigs, pickled carrots & radish. These could've been crispier, tasted good with the sauce it was accompanied with. Service was prompt. I suppose I am looking forward to an adventure of finding another suitable replacement for our beloved Pho 2000. read more

We stopped by this gem late night after a fun night at Bullwinkles. They serve pho and are open late. When we first pulled up, we thought they were hosting a private event because it looked like a party was going on from the outside. When we got inside, it was a whole VIBE! EDM music, lasers and strobe lights. As a fan of EDM, this place is awesome!! We were seated immediately and our food came out pretty fast. Not to mention, they are very friendly. While I would normally give 4 stars to this restaurant, Hanoi Kitchen earned an additional star from me for serving hot soups and playing great EDM music until midnight. I don't usually come into this part of town, but I was night boarding at Wrightwood and was craving some hot soups after being in freezing temperatures for hours. My face lit up when I pulled into the parking lot and saw this brightly lit and clean restaurant. The food was amazing. We had a party of 9 and they were able to get us in immediately on a Saturday night at 7:30 pm, which is usually unheard of. We ordered a mix of different pho options as well as other beef dishes. The beef dish was unbelievable, it had like this gravy on it and was so good! The pho was probably the best I've ever had. The noodles were perfect! Sometimes when eating pho I feel like the broth is from a big pot that has been sitting all day. The broth on the pho actually tasted clean and fresh made, whether it was or not I have no idea. To our surprise this restaurant popped up on Yelp search. (From 9pm to closing, there is a disco feel with music and disco balls). My friends and I waited outside in the rain for 40 minutes to get seated. Since it's a first come first serves restaurant. A few tables opened up and there was two groups in front of us waiting and they got sat. Us a group of 6 finally our turn and the server refused to sit us down.
