We're both Vietnamese and we both enjoyed what we ordered. I was a little confused how to eat the Bun Cha, since I haven't had it before, but I just dipped the noodles in the sauce and ate it with the lettuce and herbs. It was delicious! The sauce has a strong taste so I didn't eat too much of it, but it was still good. She also got a fresh coconut and I got the Thai milk tea. The tea was good! Would be a 3.5 for me. I loved the interior of the restaurant - they have murals on both sides and played upbeat music. The waiter was full of energy and prompt. We ordered the combination pho, bbq pork vermicelli, and Hanoi egg rolls. The only dish I really enjoyed was the pho. The broth was flavorful and I loved that they use thicker noodles. Great to have a Vietnamese restaurant in Claremont, could definitely use more! It is down by the super king grocery store. We got takeout - spring rolls and a vermicelli plate. Both were good, the spring rolls were quite substantial and a great appetizer! Understanding staff that are willing to deal with problem customers in order to keep peace. I just got the standard combo pho but it was still really enjoyable with a hefty portion size for the price. Of course the vibe they have going at night is a huge fun aspect. Overall I couldn't imagine getting audiby upset at staff that are trying to accommodate large amount of guests in order to provide a good service, especially if you're going to make a snarky comment about making a bad review when they were going to offer you a table. Claimed to have a no wait list policy so we waited outside in the rain for at least a half hour only for someone to come to the door that had "come before me," if there is a no waitlist policy then why are we reserving space for someone that isn't present? With a no waitlist policy if I'm present and there before someone that has left prior the I come first the person has lost their position in line as they are not present in line. Absolutely delicious is what I have to say, food was brought to us within minutes after we order, the taste of everything was fresh and homemade. So many great flavors and big portions. I was so pleased to see a Vietnamese restaurant open up in Claremont, CA. The place is well decorated, spacious and clean. The owner shared that he started by opening Italian restaurants with handmade pasta. This is a Vietnamese restaurant that serves great Ha Noi style foods, especially pho. The pho tai (beef noodle soup) is delicious! The soup has great flavor, the meat is tender, and fresh pho noodles were well made. This place is a little on the pricey side compared to other Vietnamese restaurants in the area and service is a bit slow. The interesting thing about this place is after a certain hour, usually on the weekend, the lights get really low, the strobe lights come out, and electronic music starts blaring. Sometimes there's even a live DJ. Great to maybe attract a younger crowd, not so great for parents/elderly. I went here on June 22 Saturday night around 10 PM. It was the only Vietnamese restaurant that was open after 9 PM so I decided to give it a try. Prior to this I have never been here before. I walked in and this is the only Vietnamese restaurant that I've been to in my life that was literally like a nightclub scene. I asked if I could sit at a specific table and the guy told me no other parties were gonna sit there. Took a long time to order a bowl of pho. The pho wasn't even that good. The broth didn't have much flavor and tasted water down, and the noodles were not the typical rice noodles that you would find at other Pho restaurants. Usually we have the same waiter and he's so friendly. My daughter even once played with the owners son. However, recently, there is another employee who is very off putting. His attitude is as if he doesn't want us there. These orders have been for take out and sometimes ordered online so we didn't even have any interaction so it couldn't have been due to anything we did.
