We tried the combo with galbi and dumplings. Giving the food a solid 4 stars--it's just above average flavor-wise, but the portion size was generous and easily rivals places charging way more. Service gets 4 stars simply because it operates like a casual food-court setup: you order at the counter, grab your buzzer, and pick up your tray when it's ready. A nice bonus is the self-serve hot broth station while you wait. Also, tip is all voluntary. The atmosphere is pretty standard and the space is fairly compact, so expect it to feel a bit cramped if you drop by during peak lunch rush. Would I come back and recommend it? We came right when they opened, and it started getting busy at 11am. We got the combo LA Galbi and cold noodle. I think it was around $24, so price wasn't bad. In terms of taste, the cold noodle broth was yummy. I love the pear pieces, but there was only one piece of meat and the noodle was on the harder side. I know the noodle is supposed to be chewy but this one felt like it could've been cooked a little longer. The galbi marinated was right on the money: sweet and slightly smokey. We visited on a busy Saturday and were greeted immediately by the host, who added us to the waitlist and estimated a 25-30 minute wait. A special shoutout to the host for being so accommodating. Because of my foot injury, they intentionally seated my wife and me at a larger table for extra comfort. He also went above and beyond by personally bringing us two bottles of water, even though this restaurant is self-service. We ordered the LA Beef Short Rib Combo with one cold buckwheat noodle ($25.99) and an extra cold buckwheat noodle ($12.99). You order yourself at the front. I got the spicy cold noodles and also kimchi pancake. The spicy sauce for the noodles was pretty good and isn't super spicy but builds to a kick over time. They have complimentary unlimited broth, which low key tastes like instant ramen broth but in a good way. This is a self service restaurant with all the condiments and utensils at the front. Lunch time is very busy. There was a bit of a wait. We had to sign in on a clipboard and wait until someone called us. There was not a lot of space to wait so it was pretty crowded by the door. (There were a few chairs along the wall on the inside.) Once we got a table and sat down, we were able to go to the front and order our food, but because they were busy, we had to wait for someone to get to the register to take our order. I'm on a mission to find the best naengmyeon in LA and just stumbled across this place yesterday. Let's dive in. Pros/Cons/Notes: - No tipping policy: one of their big selling points which is generously advertised everywhere - Almost everything is self-service: everyone grabs their own utensils/water/etc. - For those who care, the music seemed like an Ai playlist on repeat. It wasn't super bothersome, but notable for those with the ear for it - The 2x naengmyeons came out very fast, but our Galbi plate came out 75% through out meal. In their defense it was a busy night for a new business. It's a casual restaurant tho and we weren't in a huge rush so it didn't matter much to us The Food: - Mul naengmyeon base soup was good, and obv much better with vinegar + mustard. Ice was like snow vs. slush which provided a v different texture. the buckwheat noodles worked well with the dish even if i prefer arrowroot more - Pibim naengmyeon: we enjoyed more. Very balanced sweet and tang with light spice. A solid dish - Galbi was really good. Slightly smaller portion but well cooked and the marinade was perfectly sweet. A solid galbi - Always have to mention the free self-serve broth Ultimately, on a more choosy day I'll usually prefer arrowroot noodles for naengmyeon, but it's such a really good bargain and i could definitely see myself dropping by again for a nice bite and quick service at a great price if i'm in the area.
