Nothing like good soup to warm the soul. Parking is available in a lot behind the restaurant which is always a welcome addition in ktown. Anyway, not much to it here, order gukbap (pork soup). That's all there is to it. The types of pork cuts you want are up to you but just get gukbap at the very minimum. Add leeks, salt to taste, and you've got yourself a solid meal or two. The broth is rich and savory but not too salty, the meats are tender, and the side dishes are plenty. Wish I had more to say but short and sweet is the way to go here.

Lots of yummy sides and a full spread of food! Reasonably priced for Ktown :) The lot for parking was pretty spacious for the time that we went, and the staff is quite sweet as well! If you like people watching, try to snatch a window seat...

Their pork rice soup is so good! So flavorful and their chili paste is so good with the pork slices. You can mix into your soup but because my spicy tolerance is low I take it out but eat with my pork slices. My boyfriend mixed his in and really enjoyed it too! Will definitely come back!

For some of the best gukbap and pork ribs in KTown, Jinsol Gukbap is the place. They are great at crafting comforting porcine dishes. Pork Soup with Rice: This namesake dish is also the signature dish. The bone broth is slowly simmered for over 24 hours. The rich and comforting soup is mildly seasoned so you can customize the flavor to your palate. There is a small cup of salt. Add salt to bring out the flavor of the pork broth. The scallions, garlic chives, and smear of chili paste also add layers of flavor. The soup contains soft rice and tender slices of pork. The move here is to dip the pork into the dish with spicy bean paste, onions, and jalapeno peppers. Marinated Spicy Pork Ribs: The meaty pork ribs have a sweet and sticky glaze. The edges are lightly charred and crispy. I'm a total peasant, so the raw onions and scallions add a nice crunch and bite to the richness of the ribs. Parking: There is a little lot in the back.

I got the cold noodle combo with spicy chicken. The spicy chicken here was honestly one of the best I've had at Korean restaurants. It was super tender and seasoned really well. The cold noodles are exactly as advertised, REALLY COLD and super refreshing. The portion is good for two people unless you're really hungry. I also tried the leek pancake, which wasn't listed, and it was crispy with a great dipping sauce. Service is great and has a great vibe inside, feels super friendly and close. Parking is a bit tough, so be ready to use valet or find street parking at night. I believe there's free parking in the back before dinner time.

Got the pork belly, cold noodles with chicken as a combo, and the beef rib soup. Everything was really good. The chicken was super tender, and the cold noodles were really flavorful. The pork belly was rich and tasted even better when wrapped with kimchi and garlic. Service was fast, and there was plenty of seating even on a Sunday night. Parking is valet only for about $4 or street parking. Overall, a great spot for comfort food vibes! I'd definitely come back!

A traditional Korean restaurant with free parking before evening. Lots of older folks come to eat here so that's how you know it's legit. My family got the pork soup with rice, beef soup with shredded brisket, hot pot bulgolgi, hot stone bibimbap and I got the spicy cold noodle with rib combo. Everything was so good!! I especially loved my cold noodle because it was filled with fresh herbs and loved all the nice additions that I usually don't see in cold noodle.

Authentic Korean comfort food place, not my favourite but not bad. Decent portion, service is standard (no bad attitude). 3.8/5 overall rating. I really don't enjoy venturing to Ktown for food because of the parking situation, but I do think there are better places to be at that's more memorable than this. FOOD They offer small plate appetisers like kimchi/ fish cake etc. I ordered the spicy pork (3.9/5) and it's tender and flavourful, portion is quite decent, had leftover for the next day. The soup that comes with it doesn't really have any flavour, not my thing. It's a comfort food spot, nothing exquisite. AMBIENCE Nothing much to talk about the ambience, it's clean and bright and spacious. Nothing aesthetic it's a chill casual food spot, same applies to the service. Definitely no rudeness or attitude, but don't expect 5 star pamper, servers are there when you need them. Nothing to complain about. OVERALL Might come back, maybe not. Idk. There is a lot of competition for Korean food spots in K-town, and I definitely have places that I prefer over this- no matter it's for soup or the grilled meat dishes. Love the decent sized portions tho!

Jinsol on 8th is one of those places that quietly becomes your comfort spot after one visit. The food tastes homemade in the best way, rich, deep flavors that feel authentic and satisfying without trying too hard. We ordered a spread and every dish hit. The kimchi stew was bubbling hot with that perfect fermented tang and tender pork, spicy, hearty, and soul-warming. The galbi was juicy and well-marinated, not overly sweet, just balanced and savory. The cold noodles were incredibly refreshing and chewy, a great contrast to the hot dishes. The bibimbap came packed with fresh vegetables and a beautifully seasoned sauce that tied everything together. And the steamed pork plate was melt-in-your-mouth tender, simple but done right. Service made the experience even better. Danny took care of us and was fantastic, attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming without hovering. You can tell the staff cares about the experience, not just turning tables. Portions are generous, flavors are authentic, and the vibe is cozy and unpretentious. This is the kind of spot you crave again the next day. Definitely coming back.

This is a solid restaurant to go to in k-town if you just need a simple and clean meal! I love the old school design of the place, I know they have several locations so I was glad there was one here too! People get gukbap a lot here since that's their specialty which is highly recommended, but we sometimes come just to get their nengmyun and bibim nengmyun because theirs feels super clean and super tasty! We love eating it here! Service is very friendly and helpful! It's also one of the few ktown restaurants with parking! Woot!

Came here on a Tuesday to grab a quick bite. The soup was very clean when you drank it by itself and had a perfect salty finish when you mix the red paste into the soup. The thinly sliced pork was tender and moist. The spicy pork ribs were so good. I could eat this every day if I had the chance. The sauce had a hint of sweetness and the char on the pork gave the meat a smoky taste. The ribs were tender and moist as well. Will definitely come back.

We went here years ago after a comedy show. Super yummy. Came again today with my wife. Great pork-based soups! The banchan (side dishes) are delicious.

This location is the best jinsol location. I feel like their soup is cooked the best and their Banchan selection is great and fresh. There's never really a line when I go at night for dinner and the workers are attentive. The workers also let you take your time here so I like that I don't feel rushed. The ambiance is great since the restaurant is so pretty big so it's comfortable.

What seemed like a deceptively simple bowl was one of the most delicious and flavorful meals I've had - I'll be thinking about my bowl for a long time. I got the plain kalgaksu, mainly because it included pork potstickers. The anchovy broth isn't fishy (which I was concerned about), it's deep and full in a way that's hard to describe. It penetrates the noodles and potatoes well. The broth is similar if not the same between most bowl types. The cold noodles were also delicious, which a couple of my friends ordered. Quite large portions, as just about everyone had to take some home. They also have bibimbap if you're craving a rice based meal instead. I can't wait to come back - maybe not on a Saturday night next time so I don't have to look so long for parking!

I really wanted authentic Korean food that was not kbbq and not tofu and this place delivered! This restaurant is in a small strip mall. The strip mall has other Korean food options. They have a valet parking system of sorts but we didn't pay, we self parked. The attendant told us we were fine. It was approx 9pm when we arrived and also a week night. I have no idea how much valet parking is here. We were a small party of two. Upon arrival, we were notified they were out of RICE. Um..what?? That's a good problem (for them to have) but not for consumers. I feel this really limited our options to just soup. I honestly didn't want soup but there wasn't much else we could order. The bowls were large and came out piping hot. It was a satisfying meal and not too heavy. The price point was on the pricey side. Our waiter told us business has not been the same post covid. Some dishes are between $40-$60. I asked for a soup and they were able to make it less spicy. My friend got a soup with dumplings in it. He put a good amount of soy sauce to give the broth some life. Also, the banchan is on point. We asked for a refill and devoured the second portions. If you wanna impress friends with Korean food, bring them here! Its a casual place.

If you're searching for some of the city's best pork, then those in the know will bring up Ham Ji Park. For 2 decades, generous platters of pork ribs and pork neck stew decked every table. Now, our Korean friends lament the loss of their favorite pork joint in the city. The Koreatown proper location is located in the Royal Plaza mini-mall, just a few blocks off bustling Wilshire. Discounted parking is available in a lot across the street from the Chevron gas station. From the street, the entrance is flanked by potted plants and an enclosed street-ery. Inside, stainless steel chairs are pressed up against wooden tables, each outfitted with a metal grill. Oppressive fluorescent lighting shines down on the stone grey walls, which are left undecorated apart from a few flatscreens. Multi-lingual chatter blends with the sizzle of platters. I visited with some friends for a weeknight dinner, and about half of the tables were occupied. We shared a spread of grilled platters and sizzling soups. The meal began with a carafe of barley tea and a mostly standard spread of banchan. Across our food, the best dish was the signature Charbroiled Pork Spare Rib. The ribs were flavorful without feeling gamey, and the meat was complemented by sweet caramelized onions. The pork ribs handily outdid the good-not-great Charbroiled Beef Short Rib. Lastly, the Milt and Cod Rose with Vegetables stew was fishy and briny, appropriately flavored for the Korean palate. The service was appropriately attentive, although I would've appreciated more intentional refills of our banchan ramikens. The rib plates cost upward of $35 each, while the soup was just under $30. The portions were hearty; a single entree platter could reasonably feed 2 moderately hungry bellies. It's a shame to hear that Ham Ji Park has closed; I'm kicking myself for not trying their pork neck stew earlier.
