Hard to find authentic Korean spots in K-town nowadays that haven't been super westernized. Not a bad thing per se but there's always something magical in finding a place that's more local and less popular to the masses. This is one of those spots. My go to joint for cold spicy noodles and kimchi dumplings. Priceless on a hot day. Service is great considering the floor was run by just 2 women who wore multiple hats from cleaning, serving, and ringing up the bill. They were so kind and thoughtful - they even offered us bibs knowing we had white shirts on. Overall: local hidden gem for cold noodles and dumplings.

LEE GA is an excellent Korean restaurant located in Koreatown. I was on the hunt for some good soup to cure my hangover and this place definitely delivered. To eat, I ordered the Leega Sulung Tang, priced at $17.45. The broth was everything I needed. While I thought the brisket was a little dry, I was happy with the generous amount given. If in the area, I would recommend stopping in here. Service was also very nice, quick, and attentive.

Easy eats Korean soups in K-town. Went for a casual dinner. If you're lucky, you can find street parking but valet is $3. Was sat immediately and ordered naengmyeon and dumplings. Got some banchan along with hot beef broth - was pretty good. The main dishes came shortly afterwards. The noodles were really good, along with the broth - which had the right amount of tanginess. Dumplings were decent - not amazing but not bad. Overall, would come back!

Came here for a late dinner and loved everything. The Kimchi Braised Pork Ribs were so tender and flavorful--definitely the highlight! The staff even helps you cut them at the table. We also ordered the Spicy Pork Hansang and the Chive Pancake, which were both super crispy and tasty. Great service and cozy vibes. Highly recommend if you're in K-Town! Rednote: Lolo.la.socal

The bibim neang myun & the Wang galbi tang were delicious! The noodles for the neang myun were so thin and bouncy, I'd come back just for that! The Wang galbi tang had beef short ribs that fell off the bone and was soo filling. The chive pancake was light and crispy as well

i did so much research to find this best cold noodles and chose them bc their buckwheat noodles are handcrafted so it's incredibly chewy and bouncy. huge portion so i will be enjoying for more meals yay! the ribs side is a perfect palette cleanser since it's not marinated and much lighter also they were so nice and explained all the food and were really enthusiastic with refills and didn't charge for the takeout box lol

You have to order their short ribs. They'er incredibly delicious and so tender! The cold noodles are also one of their signature dishes and definitely a must-try. The restaurant itself isn't very big, but it's always busy. It's clean, the food is amazing, and the service is super friendly and attentive. The only downside is parking, it can be a bit of a hassle. Make sure you come with a big appetite because you'll want to eat a lot! Overall, this is another popular hotspot in Koreatown that's totally worth the visit.

First time dining at Lee Ga with some friends and it was a great experience. I came on a weekday afternoon and it was not as busy. Indoors was small, but service was quick. I had the beef short rib soup with dried cabbage and it was very good. The soup came with a side of your choice of purple or white rice and I opted in for the purple rice. The meal also came with sides of kimchi and other things which were all very good. The soup was very flavorful and the portions were huge. I believe you really get what you pay for because the quality and amount you get is amazing. The soup was rich and flavorful, perfect for a cold day outside. The workers were very nice. Although one of the ladies we had didn't speak a lot of English, she tried her absolute best and helped us, which I really appreciated. Overall experience was a 10/10 and I would go back. Also wanted to mention that there is mandatory $3 for valet parking outside which is not associated with the restaurant. I think that is the only downside.

LEEGA is one of my favorite restaurants in Ktown. I've been to the restaurant once and also ordered on Uber Eats, and I've never had issues with the food onsite or to-go. I usually order the naengmyun (cold noodles) or the sullungtang from here. Both taste good. I've also tried the galbi-jjm with my friend and can confirm the quality of the meat - tender and flavorful.

Omg They do know how to make good kimchi mandu! It tastes like hometown flavor! Cold noodles are 3.5 out of 5 but kimchi dumplings are 5 out of 5 I will keep ordering dumplings ~~~~~

Today I had the cold noodles combo (mul naengmyun) with a side of kimchi dumplings. - Their dumplings were so good, I ordered a full set 6pcs of kimchi and then another 6 pcs of meat dumplings - It comes with 2 containers of dipping sauce and 1 slightly larger container of kimchi - ABSOLUTELY DELISH!!! Their cold noodles are always great. But man - the 3 large pcs of kimchi dumplings were utter perfection. Best Kimchi mandoo of my life. So well balanced. - The dipping sauce is superb (lighty sweet, savory and garnished with sliced jalepenos and raw white onion) The dishes all come with: - Boiled cabbage with miso dip (SO GOOD!, MY FAVE) - Oyster based (I think) kimchi b/c it has such great umami! Tastes artisenal - Sliced pickled white daikon radish (best in class) Today I also had 2 cups of their bone broth to drink. They have a special lunch menu. So many dishes look so good. I am excited to try more, way more. Only downer is $3 for parking.

Finally reviewing it. I love this place. Very attentive service with a smile. It's small without feeling cramped. Well attended but seats you quickly. Lively but not too noisy. Most of all the food maintains a high level of quality and freshness. This order for 2 was plenty of food: - Hwe naengmyeon: the raw skate has a nice chewy texture to it and the bibim was subtle in sweetness - Mul naengmyeon: the richness of the soup broth is perfectly balanced with the acidity of the mustard and vinegar. One of my favorite naengmyeon broths to date. I typically prefer buckwheat noodles but this place is an exception - I got the naengmyeon galbi combo so we split some ribs as well and they were extremely well cooked and seasoned. the sweet sauce was a perfect savory side dish to pivot between all the noodles and banchan They serve hot broth which is always a delightful temperature change from the ice cold naengmyeon. Lastly, their to-go kimchi is fantastic. Their standard kimchi has oyster (a bit harder to find - so good!) and their radish kimchi feels especially sparkly on the palette. I got lucky and was able to park in the public lot next to the strip mall but I'll gladly put up with the typical Ktown parking stress for this place. Don't change, Lee Ga!

There is sometimes street parking but the availability is rough, it's tough to park, and even one of the meters we ended up at just didn't work. They only charge a $5 cash service charge though, which isn't bad. We were lucky to be seated right away, even in a packed restaurant. The restaurant has a surprisingly modern design, and is comfortable for as small as it is. We were quickly served their signature kimchis and barley rice. The kimchi, particularly the yeolmu (young summer radish) kimchi, has a unique flavor profile well suited to their food. We ordered 2 bowls of their plain kalgooksu, 1 bibim milmyun, and 1 tteokbokki. The food came out fairly quickly. The kalgooksu was as expected the star of the show. The anchovy broth brings a savory complexity that seems impossible for a soup made from just dried fish and a few other ingredients. It even has a rich, almost thick, quality to it that is surprising for a fish broth. Their noodles, the titular kalgooksu, have the signature irregularity and chew of knife cut noodles. I appreciate the vegetables that always come in kalgooksu, like potato, pumpkin, and zucchini, which offer an earthy heartiness to the light soup. My only complaint is that the potato is in huge irregular chunks, and is barely cooked, though I feel like I have had this issue with many of the kalgooksu bowls I've had over the years. The bibim milmyun was solid. I think that I prefer the texture and flavor of naengmyeon buckwheat noodles, but the milmyun, which are made with mostly wheat flour, still provide a satisfying chew. The sauce tasted bright and fresh, especially with a splash of added vinegar. It also came with a small side portion of spicy pork and some rice paper to wrap. The tteokbokki was the one let down of the meal. To be fair, I wasn't expecting much out of tteokbokki at all restaurant like this whose specialty is essentially the opposite. I ordered the tteokbokki as a "safe pick" for a picky eater in the group. It turned out to be a bit mediocre in our opinion, and that friend ended up enjoying their kalgooksu anyways. If you're looking to try this dish, it's definitely one of if not the best I've had in Southern California, so I'd totally recommend it. I'll also warn to steer clear of the Garden Grove restaurant of the same name and specialty. I think it's a disappointing mimicry of this place.

The ambiance was lovely and perfect for a date night. The dining room felt dark, intimate, and cozy, and I especially loved the little candle on the table. It was a small touch, but it made the experience feel warm and special. We ordered the perilla oil noodle, scallop pancake, pork jowl, and hwaechae milk to share. The perilla oil noodle had a strong perilla aroma which I loved, but beyond that it didn't really taste like much. It wasn't bad but it's probably the one dish I'd skip next time. The scallop pancake was great. It was crispy, packed with scallops, and the dipping sauce complemented it really well. The pork jowl was easily our favorite dish of the night. It was tender, flavorful, and paired perfectly with all of the accompanying condiments. Every bite felt balanced and well thought out. The hwaechae milk was also delicious and refreshing. It was a fun drink to share and a nice contrast to the richer dishes. While the food was good overall, the portions felt pretty small for the price point. Everything tasted good but it was hard not to notice how quickly the dishes disappeared given what we paid. Maybe it was just the specific dishes we ordered but considering Danbi is on the Michelin Guide, I was expecting bolder and more memorable flavors. Korean cuisine is known for being vibrant and packed with flavor so I left feeling a little underwhelmed. Nothing we had was bad but aside from the pork jowl there wasn't a dish that really wowed me. To end the meal, the staff brought us a yuzu popsicle topped with a birthday candle, which ended up being my favorite part of the entire night. The popsicle was perfectly tangy, refreshing, and honestly more memorable than any of the dishes we ordered. It made the celebration feel thoughtful without being over the top. Overall, we had a great experience. The atmosphere was beautiful, the service was attentive, and it was a lovely place to celebrate a special occasion even though it was a bit overhyped given the small portions, high prices, and flavors that didn't quite live up to my expectations. I'd still come back to try the steak tartare, uni bibimbap, and the zabuton!

From the moment the Korean-style spare ribs arrived at the table, it was clear this was a dish worth savoring. Each rib bore a beautifully charred exterior--deeply caramelized without a hint of bitterness--offering that irresistible smoky aroma the moment it was placed before us. The glaze was nothing short of spectacular. A perfect balance of sweet and spicy, it clung to the meat with a glossy sheen that promised flavor in every bite. There was just enough heat to make your taste buds sit up and pay attention, but it never overwhelmed the deeper, richer notes of the sweet components. But what truly set these ribs apart was the texture. Beneath the charred surface lay meat so tender it practically fell off the bone with the gentlest tug of a fork. Each bite was juicy and succulent, the result of careful cooking and a respect for quality ingredients. Ham Ji Park, you will be missed. Thank you for the memories. Thank you for the food.

The meal began with a carafe of barley tea and a mostly standard spread of banchan. Across our food, the best dish was the signature Charbroiled Pork Spare Rib. The ribs were flavorful without feeling gamey, and the meat was complemented by sweet caramelized onions. The pork ribs handily outdid the good-not-great Charbroiled Beef Short Rib. Lastly, the Milt and Cod Rose with Vegetables stew was fishy and briny, appropriately flavored for the Korean palate. The service was appropriately attentive, although I would've appreciated more intentional refills of our banchan ramikens. The rib plates cost upward of $35 each, while the soup was just under $30. The portions were hearty; a single entree platter could reasonably feed 2 moderately hungry bellies. It's a shame to hear that Ham Ji Park has closed; I'm kicking myself for not trying their pork neck stew earlier.
