We went to Hanuman in Orange to celebrate my brother-in-law's birthday with some great Thai food. They offer great specialty dishes that go beyond the standard Thai menu. The panang curry was rich and creamy, served with a good portion of steak over rice. The Khao Soi came with chicken in a delicious broth. We also ordered the Pad See Ew with shrimp, which had a great flavor as well. To finish the birthday dinner, they brought out a tasty creme brulee and played a fun song! This is easily some of the best Thai food in the area with delicious flavors and a great staff. Definitely try to get a reservation!

We ordered takeout from here, and their service just over the phone was so friendly! Pad Thai was alright, drunken noodles were good, but I really enjoyed the khao sawan dessert. Pad Thai was a little too dry and Smokey than I usually like, and I wish that you could choose or customize the protein choice. We also ordered the mango coco mocktail to go which was delicious! I think it's worth trying this place if you're in the area!

My friend loves to come here but has not been to this location. I have never been here but I like to try new places. I don't usually eat Thai but we decided to share the gai Todd hat Yai. I went with the regular pad Thai. Everything is was super delicious. I'm glad we went with the recommendation of the gai todd hat yai. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone. I would definitely try their other items.

Why did it take me a year to finally eat here? This is top 3 Thai Food in North OC (they have 2 other locations in Costa Mesa). I was surprised it there was little wait today. I can't pinpoint what I liked the best but the Karee with fried chicken was delicious. Nice drink menu too. Great place for date night.

I've only ordered take-out from the Newport Beach location and always liked the food there. So I'm happy they opened this location that's closer to me so I finally got to dine in. I got the Drunken Noodles and it was delicious. The dish was juicy, not overly spicy (I ordered mild and it came out perfectly mild), a little sweet all around but bold and flavorful. My BF's Kheak Salad was also interesting, and he loved it. I took a few bites just to see and I had to agree. Never had a salad made this way, especially with the curry, peanut-y dressing. I love that there's a hook underneath the bar table for me to hang my purse. That's so thoughtful of the restaurant to provide. The space is new, cute, modern and clean. I do wish their AC was on higher because I was getting kinda warm. But overall I had a great experience here and will definitely come back.

Saw all the good reviews and decided to come here for an early dinner. Parking is easy but this place gets a lot of customers. So be prepared to wait a bit, as there aren't that many seatings inside either. Service was good. Waitresses were attentive Food quality was excellent. Ordered the boat noodle, chicken satay, and sweet and sour salmon. Rich flavorful boat noodle was very comforting to eat. Salmon was cooked perfectly. Chicken satay was very tender and the sauce had a lot of depth. Overall would definitely recommend this place for Thai cravings

High hopes for this spot with all of the social media coverage, but the food presentation outdid the taste here. I found that the pad thai and wings weren't too seasoned. The khao soi was as expected. The dishes are absolutely BEAUTIFUL! I've had better in terms of taste. Staff here was great.

I've been dying to try Hanuman for years. For years their only location was the Costa Mesa one and the wait was so long. I was blown away by the flavor and quality of the food here. The curry is a perfect mix of sweet salty and spicy. I would also recommend getting your steak rare! The hanger steak is $22 which I believe is pretty good bang for your buck. The decor inside is very pretty but I was seated outside which I would not recommend. The lighting outsude is kind of dark and service is slower since you are outside. Also would pass on the Thai tea you could get better. But overall I will definitely be back!

Pad Thai shrimp, Pad se ew chicken, and Drunken noodles pork
    Elain N.

Definitely one of my favorite Thai food spots. The drunken noodles here are my absolute favorite with the pad se ew coming in second. However, nothing is ever too spicy, it's more like a mild-medium, I do wish they would make the dishes spicier for those with higher spice tolerance. They have great cocktails but all on the sweeter style and not too spirit forward. Service is always great and the staff is very friendly. Nicely decorated but not too upscale. The restaurant only has a dozen or so tables and a few more outside, so wait times can be up to an hour when it's busy. Went on a Thursday night and still had to wait 30 minutes but well worth it.

We had dinner here on a Saturday night, and the wait was about 20 minutes. We were sat at a table outside, but there was plenty of shade provided by the umbrellas. The servers were attentive and friendly. We ordered a khao soi and a massamen curry. Both were very delicious with rich and robust broths that left us feeling very satisfied. Would definitely come here again.

    Mango and sticky rice

Wow I'm so happy Hanuman is now in Orange! They've remodeled the whole building so nicely and surprisingly fit several tables. It's a bit of a tight squeeze but everything else makes it worth it. Service was top notch, friendly and knowledgeable. Suggested great items like the crispy wings, which was my favorite dish and the mago dessert. They told us this is a seasonal item, the mango is only up to their standard of quality 3 months out of the year. The ceviche was a wonderful surprise along with the rice puffs. Last, the Khao Soi got better as it sat there, so many layers of flavors and the crispy noodles were a great add on. There was a wait but it went by faster than suggested. They turn over tables very quickly but I wouldn't bring a very big party here unless outside seating is optional. I can't wait to come back and try additional items.

    Green curry with steak

Food here was delicious and very large portions (family style portion), we got the pad see ew with tofu, green curry with steak and gai todd hat yai (fried chicken) and papaya salad. Everything tasted such high quality and well prepared. Put your name on the yelp waitlist as soon as you can. Came with a group of 3 on a Thursday night and waited about 40 min for a table.

Ask the Community - Hanuman Thai Eatery

Do they have seating for 12 adults?

It's a very small space so I would advise calling in advance.

Can you make your curries vegan?

Unfortunately, we cannot make it Vegan. We use the fish sauce in our curry.

Are dogs allowed on the patio?

Yes, they are. We will open on Feb 20.

BUSINESS PERMANENTLY CLOSING 6/28/26…read more Came here with some gals for afternoon tea. It's a cute little restaurant in Old Towne Orange. It's decorated really cute inside and out! Everything was creatively planned and decorated. It was also very clean and spacious inside and out. When you go in, there's a tea sampling station with the menus so you can see which tea you would like to order. Our server was really sweet, but she was the only one serving all of the tables, so she would come by every 10-20 minutes to check on us and some things we asked for didn't make it to the table. If they had more servers, customers would be happy with quicker service. The food and tea were delish! There were 6 of us so we shared a bunch of different teas. I really enjoyed the teas they had. The sweet and savory treats were really yummy! I really enjoyed them. Each person got 5 little savory treats and 4 sweet treats. I kind of wish we got one or two more for $45, but either way they were delicious! We had a great time and were sad to learn that the business will be permanently closing down tomorrow (6/28/26), I would have loved to continue going back!

We got a variety of dishes to try out, and overall it was just ok. The soup was good but was a little light on ingredients, the papaya salad was decent with a little kick, noodles didn't really have much truffle taste but was ok, green beans were crunchy and probably the best dish here, and the mango sticky rice was not ripe. Most of the mango pieces were hard / not sweet and proportion to the rice was off. The staff was friendly and the space is very open and welcoming. Not sure if I'd come back though unless I was craving the Asian fusion tea service.

I was meeting my foodie friend there at 12:30. The parking lot has limited space, which made it an extra challenge to park. Thankfully I only had to circle the block once to come back and snag a spot. (Meanwhile, my friend got there before me and was already enjoying an appetizer). Orders are placed at the counter and they call your number once your food is ready. The dining room consists of mostly booth seating with one "communal" table, and counter seating with 5ish chairs. There are also a handful of tables set outside. I've really been enjoying banh mi and their Bulgogi beef sandwich sounded great. I also happen to have a thing for popcorn chicken, so I got an order of that to round out my lunch. Oh, and based on the rave reviews I've read about their peach & lychee green tea, I ordered one of those as well. Let me just say, lunch was very satisfying! The sandwich was generously filled the fresh ingredients and the meat to veggie ratio was perfect. I'm not sure what the green sauce was that they finished the sammie off with but it was SO tasty!! I requested the popcorn chicken with medium heat and it was just spicy enough to leave my tongue tingling slightly. My friend saved an egg roll for me and it was also really good. (The tea by the way was very refreshing.) Now, this was my first time here but I never saw anyone come out to check the dining room or wipe down the tables after the lunch rush. This was especially concerning to me because they had a guy doing work on the windows who put his feet/ shoes on the tables right under said windows. Ewww. But aside from the parking challenge and the table hygiene/cleanliness, our visit was quite enjoyable and the food was very good. We would definitely return, but we'll have to plan around the lunch rush!

My only complaint was the service. Our server wasn't very communicative and came across pretty bland and uninterested, which took away from the overall experience. Found it lacking some substance though. Some slices of port and some veggies added in would have balanced the meal out and made it more complete. 4.5/5 So overall, food is still great here although on the bit pricier side compared to other similar soup places nearby. THE BAD: as stated from another reviewer, customer service is horrendous here. Really makes me giving 15% way too much for what nonexistent service you get. They even start their auto-tip at 18% as their lowest level. My initial review I was forgiving on this as they are a new establishment and I want them to do well. However, being the 4th time there, it's like pulling teeth to just get water refills or anything else. The front staff you can tell do not want to be here. They say welcome more out of routine then actually welcoming you to come eat. When refilling water, the new waiter was annoyed I didn't bring my glass up to get filled fast enough for him to stand by and do me the favor as he would rather go back to the counter to jump on his phone. It's the same with the main guy talker wears a hat. Both would rather jump on their phones then come check in on you or get you some water. They really should just put a water station or give each table a carafe of water and let us refill it ourselves if they don't want to do it. Being a relatively new restaurant, they should really appreciate all their customers coming in and make them feel welcome as these are the people who will keep them in business and recommend this to others. My suggestion is to find someone to be your host that genuinely likes to interact with people and make them provide an enjoyable dining experience. You can let the other 2 guys just bring food out and bus tables.

The puff bread was a bit too flour-y for me but I loved the honey butter it came with. I really hope the crab roe spaghetti stays on the menu because it was delicious, great portion, and had amazing crab flavor. The pasta was also well cooked and sauce not too creamy. The berry part of the matcha berry tiramisu was the strongest so I didn't detect matcha as much. They were kind enough to provide a small slice of chocolate cake a la mode with a candle for the birthday and it was actually a great balance of flavor, not being too rich or heavy in chocolate. I would order this again separately as a solid fudge sundae. The beef carpaccio, squid ink uni pasta, spicy miso carbonara, mentaiko pizza, and sticky toffee pudding are still solid as usual. Came back yet another time, and got the beef carpaccio because I just love the truffle flavor, the two sauces, and the arugula/apple bites in between. The only improvement would be smaller slices to make it easier to eat since the larger ones are hard to pick up. The crab roe spaghetti I had to get again for the summer menu in case they decide not to keep it for fall/winter because the crab flavor is so good. My friend ordered the seafood malfadine which I was apprehensive about considering my previous experience but WOW I was surprised by how different it was this time around because when I tried a bite, they REALLY turned it around. I'm so grateful my friend decided to order it because after trying theirs, I might start ordering it again for myself now. Not sure if I had it on an off day previously or they changed the recipe but it now is actually as flavorful as the spicy miso carbonara and might actually be even better. The sausage flavor actually adds a lot of richness without being heavy or overpowering, the spice is a good kick without being actually spicy, the shrimp is delicious, but I kept going back for the sauce. INI Ristorante is one of very few restaurants I consistently keep coming back to instead of trying other new spots in the area because I can't choose my favorite out of so many good things on the menu and just want them all so I need to come with bigger groups or rotate each time I visit.
