[Food] - Cucumber Salad ($6.95): Love this! I always order this everywhere I can get it as it's super crunchy! The acidity and chili oil makes this such an addictive combo. - Wood Ear Mushroom w/ Vinegar Dressing ($6.95): Yum! A great side as a palate cleanser. - Shanghai Braised Pork Belly ($18.95): Very tender and fatty. - Lobster & Kurobuta Pork Xiao Long Bao (6/$19.99): Delicious! The skin is thin and the meat is juicy with delectable soup! Not the best I've had especially taking the price into account, but I'd still say it's a good choice for XLB. - Dan Dan Noodles w/ Sesame Sauce & Minced Pork ($12.95): My friends all thought this was decent. For me personally it was a bit overly nutty. If you are craving dumplings yet don't want to stand in an hr long line or pay a steeper cost while at it, this place gives you the fix. Took our dad here for his birthday and everyone loved it. Prime time weekend, i will say the lines can still be long here but 1hr vs 2-3hrs at dung tai fung. Food may not be as fancy Michelin or ambiance but it definitely hits the spot. Price isn't cheap but still a bit cheaper. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall a very good alternative but there are also still many good places if you don't care for the crazy ambiance or presentations at mom and pops spots.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This is if your trying to compare with Ding tai fung, its kicked down a notch or so. Generally, better than the mom & pops yet toned down from the famous one. My least favorite is the cucumber salad and the stir fried noodles as the flavors were lacking. Everything else were good.

It's loaded with a bunch of large tables meant for seating families/ large groups.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was great, we were seated and served relatively quickly. The staff came by frequently to check up on us and refill our refreshments. We got a lot of food including noodles with sesame sauce, shrimp fried rice, spicy wontons, garlic green beans, walnut shrimp, cucumber salad, beef rolls, hot and sour soup, xiao long bao, and popcorn chicken. ALL of the dishes were fantastic! The highlight for me, in particular, were the noodles with sesame sauce. When mixed, the noodles were creamy and packed with flavor without being too heavy. Overall, highly recommend to anyone in the area looking to have some great Chinese cuisine!
Checked out prince dumpling and it did not disappoint. When we arrived there was not many people so we got sat pretty quick. They provide a sheet of paper for your selections. Food comes out quick and they make sure to clean plates quickly. Shrimp and pork wontons were very good and saucy, but not spicy. Crab and pork xiao long bao was good. Noodles with sesame sauce and sweet and sour baby back ribs are more on the sweater side. The chocolate xia long bao is a must. When we left there was already a waiting line. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Since the location is medium size it does get pretty loud in there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall I definitely recommend.

What in the PANDA EXPRESS is the CARROTS and PEAS in the fried rice??? Their shrimp was also 100% placed in a solution before and thus lacked flavor while having that characteristic unnatural bounce to them. This is absolutely unacceptable for a place that is trying to reach "Din Tai Fung competitor" status, even if the price is lower and the portions larger. That being said, their dumplings were very juicy and flavorful without being too porky, although the skins are a little thicker. Their take on beef noodle soup is solid but lacked any real uniqueness -- as a Taiwanese person, I feel like every rendition should have its own secret part to it.

It was my 3rd visit to the restaurant so I think I have a better idea of the food they serve. First of all, the restaurant is really spacious and nicely decorated. You don't see tables being right next to each other. As for food, it reminds me of DTF. Here's what I ordered in this recent visit: crab xlb, chicken rice cake, spicy shrimp and pork dumpling, broccoli and egg with dried scallion fried rice. The GOOD: crab xlb, fried rice. The xlb is juicy. The skin is just right and you can taste the crab in it. The fried rice is nicely seasoned and a good portion too. The broccoli is fried with garlic so it is what it is. The NOT SO GOOD: garlic broccoli, stir fried rice cake. It's not that the food is bad but it's on the salty side. Otherwise, it's not bad. The service there is good. The meal costs close to $100 so it's on the expensive side. I think if I want DTF but doesn't want the wait, this may be an option... except the cost is similar to DTF without the quality taste
3.5 stars Arrived a 530 on a Friday evening. place had 3 other parties. They asked me if I had reservations which I didnt but nice to know that they take it. Pan fried pork buns - pan fried with sesame seeds on the bottom. Pretty decent but I prefer the style of bread and flavor from min min pie house and auntie Qiu kitchen more. Kurobuta Xiao long baos - 4 stars. skin is really thin. filled with LOTs of soup. slightly on the sweeter side when compared with din tai fund dumplings. stir fried baby bok choy - 2-3 stars. these were not baby boy choy, it seemed more like the standard size. It was overcooked so had no crispiness to it. Would have been better if not overcooked. stir fried Taiwanese carrots- 2 stars. Similar to the bok choy this was also very overcooked. pork, chives, shrimp dumplings (boiled) - 3 stars. couldn't taste any shrimp in this. It was a regular dumpling. chicken fried rice - 3 stars. - square chunks of chicken and carrots and peas fried rice. basic nothing special. Prefer the Service was nice. They spoke English and cantonese. Overall I would not go out of my way but it's a decent place to get a Xiao long bao fix. it was the best thing we had.
If you only get one thing here you have to try the pork and chive pan fried dumplings! I don't know how they made the skirt like that but it was sooooo crispy and the dumpling was very juicy. This place is a literally ding tai fung dupe but might I say better??? At a fraction of the cost, I was able to try so many delicious dishes. I wanted to order more but the portions were big we ended up with leftovers! Honestly, the only thing I would pass on next time would be the chocolate xlb. They chocolate was not melty and was a little more solid than what I'd normally prefer. There's plenty of seating so there was no wait on a Saturday afternoon and plenty of parking out front. Nice, clean aesthetic in the restaurant. Service was fast and we were stuffed! I'll def be back!

Up until now my only "dim sum" experience has been Din Tai Fung which genuinely is a fantastic establishment where both service and food is exceptional albeit the food being a tad over priced here and there. Our first waitress was super sweet but when she left (either in break or end of shift) the next 2-3 wait staff weren't the best. Where at other restaurants of any type of cuisine, when a new dish is brought to the table, the waiter would make an attempt to rearrange the plates to make the new one fit. Of course, myself and my party always offer our help. But here? 2 of the waiters made absolutely no effort to move any plates or even ask us for help and just stood by our table until we did something. Later a waiter wouldn't acknowledge us when we asked for to-go containers, napkins, etc. Anyway now for the food. Cucumber salad - decent. Cucumbers were crunchy but the sauce was more oily and less flavorful than DTF. Scallop and egg fried rice - this was fantastic. Well cooked rice and great flavor with plenty of filling Rice cakes with shrimp - oh I loved these so much more than DTF. The sauce was rich and flavorful, the shrimp was soft and bouncy and the rice cakes were toasted well Scallion pancake - so thin and crispy but full of flavor Pan fried dumplings - the dumplings were so soft and juicy while the crispy layer had SO much flavor Spicy wontons - I love the DTF version so much and th sauce is way better there BUT the filling here at Prince was the star. Xiao Long Bao - delicious, full of soup, and the filling meat was a good portion and so juicy Siu Mai - a tad undercooked but packed with filling that tasted so good So overall, the food was amazing but the service really took a hit. Nothing bad enough to make me stay away and I will definitely return

My sister was craving Din Tai Fung however we couldn't go because of the inconvenience of the nearby Arcadia location for my grandma so we ended up at Prince Dumpling. We definitely got our dumpling fix in. Garlic chicken wings: delicious. Salt & pepper fried squid =calamari =so good! Scallion pancake--amazing must get. It kinda looked like a Chinese Empanada. Juicy pork dumplings-- good. Pan fried pork bun -shen Jen bao-- good but doesn't beat Kang Kang. Wood ear mushroom -delish if you like pickled things. Cucumber salad-- fine, bland honestly. Green beans--fine, also bland. Black sesame dumpling for dessert good!!! We ordered a 2nd serving. Red bean and taro dumpling not sweet enough for my liking. Service was good. yikes... things have changed since the grand opening. service is no longer a priority as it used to be. i do not understand why businesses don't call out to go orders. if you have no notification system of to go orders being completed, please for the love of god call out the numbers that are finished. to go customers are paying customers too. and especially if you're going to be asking for 18% tip to go too, treat them as such. makes no sense to have me wait twice the original wait time and still not call my order. i try to be patient and not bother the wait staff, but that's what needs to happen i guess. read more

If you want an alternative to Din Tai Fung and not wait an hour for a table, Prince Dumpling is a great spot to enjoy some delicious dumplings. Located in a shopping plaza on Valley Blvd, it offers a casual but comfortable vibe. As you walk into the restaurant, you will notice a glass encased kitchen where you can watch chefs making dumplings by hand. The menu is extensive with a variety of items to choose from that is more wallet friendly than Din Tai Fung. read more

Din Tai Feng dupe. The menu is so similar to that of DTF, the popular spot for soup dumplings (xiao long bao). After trying 4 dishes, I think the only thing worth getting here is the xiao long bao XLB. The shrimp and pork spicy wontons were the most disappointing! The wontons were soggy; the spicy sauce was not it. This dish at DTF tastes so much better. I do NOT recommend the spicy wontons. The spicy beef noodle soup was not spicy at all. The noodles were ok. The beef was ok. If you want good beef noodle soup, go to Dai Ho. The Dan Dan noodles tasted more like zhajiang mian (the minced pork noodles). The cucumber was so sad. The carrot was cute but who puts flower carrots in Dan Dan noodles.?! Finally the service was on the side of bad. They seemed busy and rushed from the time of seating us, to taking our order, and getting the check. A nice casual spot for Chinese comfort food! The restaurant is well-lit and laid-back. The service was impressively fast and friendly. We started with the sweet and sour baby back ribs, and they were fall-off-the-bone tender with a sticky sauce that clung right to the meat. The chive and pork fried dumplings were good, but I kind of wanted a bit more seasoning to bring out more flavor. The shrimp and kurobuta pork spicy wontons weren't spicy at all, so I would pass on this. The real winner for us was the noodles with diced beef and Szechuan peppers. It was well-seasoned and delicious with that kick from the peppers. However, the vegetables on the side were basically raw, so they didn't match the rest of the great seasoning going on in the dish. One big con: the AC blasts full force inside, so our food got cold super fast while we were eating. Definitely something to keep in mind, but overall, great flavors, generous portions, and speedy service make this a solid stop for noodle and dumpling lovers!! read more

Prince Dumpling serves the best Chinese comfort food! Everything is absolutely delicious, you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The soup dumplings are fantastic, fried rice and noodles are well seasoned and good portion, and the veggies and soups are great as well. My personal favorite is the Taiwanese cabbage! They take reservations for parties over 6. Service is usually pretty fast and attentive. read more

Open on new year day! Third time here. Good, but I wouldn't say it's the best. Also, quite pricey. Waited about 30 min. Wish there was more meat and less cucumber. The cucumber took up over half of the roll. Kurobuta Pork Xiao Long Bao (10 pieces, $15.99) Thin skin, but the meat filling was a bit too loose. It's not as good as I remembered. Sweet & Sour Pork Baby Back Ribs ($15.99) Pretty sweet, juicy tender meat Not very sour. Finally back here and they actually have a real store sign this time! It wasn't busy on Monday, so service was super fast. Everything came out in under 5 minutes except the pan-fried pork dumpling, but that's only because they take their time to make it look pretty. This time around I tried a good mix of dishes: Black Pepper Beef Udon - I had the chicken last time and the beef is definitely better. Really tasty and full of flavor. (5/5) Crab Xiao Long Bao - Juicy, meaty, and very tasty. More affordable than DTF, too. (4.5/5) Breaded Chicken Cutlet - This was okay. It seemed like a special item; half of it tasted fine, but the other half was a bit rubbery. Flavors and sauce were good, just not the texture. (3.5/5) Pan-Fried Pork Bun - They make these really well here. Crispy, juicy, and flavorful. Would absolutely order again. (4.5/5) Pan-Fried Dumplings - These took extra long because they burned the first few batches and wanted to remake them properly. The flavors were bomb and the crispiness was great, just expect a wait. (4.5/5) Black Sesame XLB - Unique and good! I didn't go crazy for it, but it's definitely a fun dish to try. 3 families decides to have dinner at Prince Dumpling. The restaurant has very similar vibe with D.T.F. And the menus too. Service is good and fairly fast, but they are busy. We have crab Xiao long bao (good), pork Xiao long bao (good), radish pastry is excellent and best dish, pan fried pork bun (excellent with soup inside!), braised beef noodle soup (good but not a lot of noodles), noodles with sesame sauce (good), rice cake with pork taste very good. Scallion cake is better than average. Overall the restaurant is clean, fair large, and enough dishes to satisfy most customers! read more

First time here Our servers, Jimmy & Jason are friendly and also gave us some recommendations. Great service!! We ordered crabmeat XLB, Chive & Pork Fried Dumpling, pork rice cakes, cold dish- black wood mushrooms, scallions pancakes, hot and sour soup and black pepper chicken stir-fried udon. My favorite one is XLB, rice cakes and scallions pancakes, they're flavorful and XLB is juicy. Came in for dinner on a Wednesday night. Plenty of space. No wait time. Easy parking outside next to the market. Next time clean interior, updated look inside. I had the pork Xiao long bao, spicy wonton, cucumber bites and sezchuan beef noodle. Xlb is my favorite with a soupy interior. They should give more Ginger slices. You will have to ask for more. Spicy wonton is a good portion size with eight pieces and chili oil. However, lacking vinegar balance for a more sour taste, but you can add it yourself. Cucumber could be more acidic and tangy Otherwise pretty fresh and crunchy Also to note, the surprise was the flavor with the Szechuan beef noodle. Noodle is bouncy and cooked just right. The actual flavor of the sauce is nostalgic. No numbing sensation after. For sure will recommend the pork XLB. read more

Prince Dumpling is a great local spot to get your dumpling fix. We love their xiao long baos and pan fried buns. They're filled with so much soup. This time we ordered their rice cakes. They were fried very well (lots of wok hei) and had a good amount of vegetables. I think it just lacked a little bit more sauce or flavor. We made reservations and that was very easy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was busy for an early Saturday night but not as packed as it used to be.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Pork xiao long bao: 9/10. Very good. Nice taste and texture Chicken xiao long bao: 7/10. Not as big a fan. When we ordered more xlb for round 2, we definitely did not get more of this one. Scallion pancake: 8/10. Solid but not much to say about it Walnut shrimp: 9/10. Definitely some of the better walnut shrimps I've had. The shrimp are also a great size. We ordered this again Seafood fried rice: 9/10. Very nice portion and decent amount of seafood in here. I like the variety of seafood. Green beans: 7/10. I don't think most restaurants do a good job, but this one isn't bad Rice cakes: I don't think I can fairly judge rice cakes because I'm generally not a fan, but everyone else liked it Beef rolls: 9/10. Also very good. They were nice and checked if we wanted to cut it into 4 pieces or 6 which was very considerate of them. Servers are very nice and friendly. I really liked the service. The food was amazing, such delicious flavors and a vast variety of traditional chinese dishes to choose from. I would recommend every item , as it's made perfectly well. The service was excellent, they were very speedy with our orders and needs. The food came out fast and we ordered alot, which is always a plus! The ambiance is very cozy and nice. Definitely a great sit down spot, just avoid very busy hours as it can get pretty loud, but it's honestly worth a try if you're ever in the area and craving chinese food! read more
The service here was very friendly. We asked to move seats because we sat at a table that was freezing cold and they relocated us. Ambiance was a very clean expensive feel. You also get to see the chefs make the dumplings! Sadly, I didn't get a picture of that. The food here was yummy. I really loved the garlicky green beans. If you love garlic and green beans, I recommend getting that. Cucumber salad was also delicious. We ordered pork long bao, pork green onion dumplings, and the spicy wonton. They all were very very juicy. You take a bite of it and BAM, juice all over your spoon. My personal favorite was the pork green onion dumplings. As for the popcorn chicken, I feel like it was missing something. Like another seasoning to it, but don't get me wrong, it still ended up good and crispy. Came here on a Friday night for dinner. The restaurant was fairly packed but plenty of tables open for seating. The restaurant is similar to din tai fung's menu and you can also watch the workers make your dumplings from the waiting area window. First impression: modern interior with aesthetically pleasing decor. Service is okay but did have a weird interaction with one of the servers. I asked if my party could be moved away from the middle table under the vent since it was blowing directly in my face. He advised me to just move one seat over? Lol. I then asked if I could just move to the sides and he said the booths would be "too cold" but I didn't even mind just a regular table on the side. As long as I was away from the vent. Ordered: Cucumber salad (9/10). Super fresh tasting and plenty of pieces. Xiao long bao pork: (10/10/): juicy and flavorful Garlic green beans: super garlicky with the right amount of seasoning Popcorn chicken (8/10): super pretty color and really good when eaten right away. Pork and green onion steamed dumpling (10/10): perfectly cooked with nice texture Spicy wontons (7.5/10): without the chili oil, the wontons were a bit bland but tasted great together. Overall, I would recommend this place considering it tastes better than DTF and has less of a crowd. The parking lot is big and is located next to GW Supermarket. read more
Have been hearing about this place for a while now, and finally got a chance to try it. Came here on a Friday's night and just waited for a bit, so not too bad. Ordered beef rolls, crab xiaolong bao, noodles, and dumplings. We liked everything except the dumplings. The dumplings was ok. Love the xiaolong bao a lot though. Definitely will be back to try other xiaolong bao flavors. read more

I've been trying to get my mom out of the house and into this place. I tried food here earlier this year....I thought it was inventive and different from the usual...and easily sharable. Mom loved the porkfried dumplings,...the scallion pancake....the pan fried pork bun...the beef udon came to the table in a smallish plate. So while the portion did not dazzle, but it was perfect for two. Think upscale street food. It used to be more common to see the dumplings and XLB created fresh, now its kinda rare. ..but here the magic makers are behind glass as you enter... My mom wants to return and try more of the seafood items especially. The lobster XLBand the salted fish fried rice...til then...five stars for great service...extra napkins without adking, asking about allergies, giving us hot water and mildly cool water ...for not charging me for a mistake in ordering and knowing my order was going to feed the staff ( beef steak cubes) it looked sooooo good I was sorry i sent it back..... fun dining experience for me and mom!! read more
