This place has an awesome set up when it comes to hot pot. It's basically set up so you can grab the ingredients that you'd like into a large bowl, you bring it back to your table, and then waitstaff will come by to pick it up and ask for the type of broth + spiciness level you'd like. After a few minutes, they bring it back to your table for you to enjoy! The best part? ALL YOU CAN EAT! They have a wide range of ingredients here too from several types of noodles to many different vegetables and meat selections. There wasn't anything I wish they had. They also have non-hot pot AYCE options as well from noodles, rice dishes, to a small selection of dim sum! Ambiance is what you'd expect. Moderate to noisy. This place is pretty big but the room fills up quickly. It's a popular spot so be sure to come early. The time to wait for your hotpot to come back to your table--including wait staff service overall--gets longer as the restaurant fills up.

Hahaha what a joke, every round of malatang took over 30mins to cook!! Dined with 4 people, everyone pots came out at different times, by the time mum's came out, hubby and I had finished ours. We saw this spot on IG and it is definitely over hyped! Insides choices was nothing like what we saw on IG. Half empty fridge with only watered down grape and strawberry juice. The broths all need to be diluted A LOT! The tom yum and tomato was really thick, made everything in the pot really hard to eat. Only the bone broth was edible This place is a one and done kind of experience. Would not return nor recommend unless you got time to wait around. You definitely get what you paid for for $20 Parking is also a nightmare. Had to park on main road

It's time for an updated review, since they changed to an AYCE malatang place. There are no more menus. The interior still looks very familiar with the lanterns hanging overhead. Now, an entire wall is dedicated to ingredients you can pick for your pot There are many items to choose from, but mostly veggies, seafood balls, but not so much in the meat section. There's even an area for hot prepared foods and the sauce section is pretty extensive. How: Grab a bowl and a set of tongs pick out all the ingredients you want, go back to your table. A server will come by and ask you what type of broth you want and they'll take your bowl to the kitchen and cook everything for you. Minutes later a hot pot of food comes back to your table. Since this is AYCE, you can always go back for more. For me one pot with plenty. The only drawback is since they're cooking the meat for you. You can't control how well done it's cooked. So I have pieces that were very tough due to over cooking. Everything else was fine, and the service was pretty good. My pro tip is if you want to come do it early before the parking lot gets packed around noonish

19.99/person AYCE hotpot/malatang with various flavor to choose from. On top of that, there's also free sides like dumpling, fried rice, fried noodle. The interior decoration also gave me a good impression, I was excited to try it out. I tried bone broth, tomato, suancai, and all 3 were disappointing. They were either too sweet or too bland. If you have seafood, it makes the entire pot taste fishy... The sides are better, but nothing out of the ordinary.

¥¥¥ 2026 review #2 ¥¥¥ As groceries and gas prices keep climbing... you can still eat well like the foodies y'all are! Amazing special offer, an all-day, year-round price of just $19.99 per person -- valid morning, noon, or night! -- includes: Hotpot, Dim Sum, stir-fried dishes, fresh fruit, cold appetizers, beverages, soups, and condiment, with nearly 80 different items to satisfy every craving!

1.5/5 stars: Come dine at Mebo Hotpot if you don't mind disappointing your mom and if you have the patience of a saint! Truly, you're better off making hot pot at home, or going elsewhere and ordering a solid plate of food for $20+ than spending it on AYCE here. The food: Frankly, I'm not sure what these recent reviewers are raving about, but it was surely mediocre at best. The restaurant is set up as a self service hot pot bar where you pick up hot pot ingredients using tongs into a pot mix your own sauces at the sauce bar. At the very end, there are some ready-to-eat hot foods. I've been to other hot pot restaurants with a similar concept but each place I've been to had more plentiful toppings. There's only two non-spicy soup bases (tomato and pork broth), so if that's not up your alley, then you might be out of luck here. None of the hot foods were labeled, so if you have dietary restrictions or allergies, this would not be the place for you. Also, their vegetables such as Bok Choy had dirt on their stems (fun times). I ordered the tomato broth with water as a soup base (vegetarian), but somehow my soup tasted weirdly sweet and murky. Considering tomato is usually the only vegan soup base option at most hot pot places, let's just say this was the worst I had by far. If you're also vegetarian, the meat is placed at the same area of the vegetables so there's a lot of cross contamination of ingredients. The rest of my party: "It's so salty!" "The only thing decent here is the fried rice." The service: Since we have food restrictions, we make the habit of calling restaurants ahead of time to verify that vegan options exist, especially when the menu isn't explicitly well labeled. Over the phone, we were repeatedly reassured that there will be a soup base for us, but when we got there, our waiter could not understand that bone broth would inherently make a soup base not vegan. After several minutes of back and forth and putting up with her rude attitude, she finally calls over another staff and we resolve the issue. If you're guaranteeing that there's vegan options over the phone, then your staff better be educated on it. When we walked in the owners asked if it was our first time, and we confirmed that. However, they barely explained to us the concept of the dining experience, so we did not know there would be a fine for not finishing food based on their instructions. Thankfully, having done our research ahead of time, we informed the rest of our party. While this is AYCE hot pot, it takes 15-20 minutes for them to get your pot cooked, so you spend most of the time dining here waiting, particularly if you want a second pot. Other restaurants with similar concepts but sell by weight use bigger bowls, so you don't spend all this time waiting for the food to be ready. We were seated well past 2 pm, so it wasn't like the restaurant was at their peak lunch rush. Our waiter took our party's order and forgot to take one pot with her, and we spent another good 10 minutes waiting for someone to come by and pick it up, until it really didn't happen so we eventually flagged someone else down to take it. There's such little attention to detail, because the we had waiters slamming the bowl down on the table and kicking our chairs without so much of an apology. The ambiance: It's a strange vibe inside where they try to mimic street food in Asia with the furnishing, but really, the metal tables are just a nuisance. The seating is also incredibly compact for a restaurant that requires customers to get up multiple times to refill their food, so everyone is bumping into each other and knocking into their own tables or their neighbor's tables and chairs. Conclusion: It was a hot mess of a dining experience, I can't imagine why anyone would want to return. Considering my reviews tend to skew positive, please dine at your own risk!

Though there's parking, there's so many businesses is hard to find a spot. Interior with the lanterns is cute. I choose the all you can eat for $20. $5 if you waste to food. It's worth it for AYCE for hot pot, hot foods, and drinks (soda and Capri sun). Pick your own soup base and they cook it for you. Lots of variety for what you're paying. The tables a little small for 3-4 people.

Tried the AYCE dinner for $25.99. It was alright- you can choose your meats, vegetables, soup base. You can also choose a canned beverage as part of the AYCE option too. They have cooked food options, including dim sim as well. Taste was okay, nothing extraordinary but nothing foul tasing. If you are in the mood to eat a lot of hot pot and food - it'd be a good call. The vibes were going for was a olden day chinese bar with some mahjong style tables and chairs. Dimly light for more ambiance too. The servers were helpful in explaining the AYCE to us and seating us right away.

Being able to make my bowl of hotpot without needing to worry about the weight of my ingredients is awesome! I love the new concept of this place, and for a set price, you can get AYCE hot pot bowls made for you, drinks, appetizers, and sauce! They have majority of the ingredients I typically go for such as tong ho, enoki mushrooms, fish tofu, roe filled fish balls, beef, lamb and fish filet, as well as other veggies, meat, and carb options. I love that they also have other hot foods to eat such as fried chicken, juicy pork dumplings , and soups too. They also have several soup bases to choose from - I tried bone broth and tom yum, and I enjoyed the bone broth more. Service was friendly and helpful. The unused plates and bowls were quickly cleared so that we could get more food! Although majority of the people in there were mandarin speaker, they had hip hop music playing. Definitely worth the price and trying out, especially if you enjoy places such as yingtang and YFG malatang.

AYCE MALATANG HOTPOT for $19.99 all day w/unlimited drinks (sodas & water). !! I saw something similar few days ago. Decided to go here since it was closer. Also, the price seemed unbeatable. Very simple process: Pick a table as requested by the staff Grab a pot and a grabber Choose any items and as much as you want Bring it to your table Staffs will come by to ask what soup base (there were about 5-6 to choose from). Don't forget to get some apps and sauces while waiting for them to cook the foods Still hungry? Repeat the process lol ok to order a different soup base. Flavors & items offered were not bad at all. Some of the veggies could be more fresh. Overall, it was a good experience. $5 charge for left over Wait time for foods was pretty long Big parking

Came on a Friday to try the new ayce option they have. $20 for lunch. Wasn't crowded when we got there at 1130 but there was a line when we were leaving around 1245. Service 5/5: very friendly staff. Someone explained the process when we arrived which was helpful. Raw options 4/5: decent selection but wish there was leaner beef Cooked options: 5/5 plenty of things to nibble on while you wait for your pot to be cooked Tip: since there are multiple rounds , don't feel you have to pile it up on the first round. The food gets cold if you don't eat it fast enough. Split it up. I made the mistake of putting too much on the first round that it got cold by the end.

$19.99 ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT malatang in LA? All day, every day?! Plus unlimited drinks, hot dishes, AND live performance?! Ok... I had to double-check with the staff this time And YES!!! It's $19.99 -- 7 days a week, anytime!!! Honestly, I don't think any other comparable spot in the San Gabriel Valley can beat this price. I know most of you have tried malatang before, but this time it's truly UNLIMITED ‍ If one bowl isn't enough, just go back for more! got 5 different broth bases to choose from Plus a variety of hot dishes Enjoy it with unlimited soda IG: socalhkfoodies

Hard to find parking in the lot. Many of the spaces had time limit. Came during lunchtime on a weekday. Be sure to write your name on the waitlist yourself. Didn't wait too long for a table. The staff mainly spoke Mandarin. The place is self serve. You get a hotpot container and pick out the ingredients you want in your hotpot. Then, you flag down staff and tell them what broth you want. In the meantime you help yourself to the appetizers table. The appetizers were not good. The eggs and tomatoes were too sweet. The chicken feet were too stiff and flavorless. The fried chicken was crispy and well flavored though. Got the bone broth soup. The soup took half an hour to arrive from the time they took the bowl away. By the time the soup came back, we had already filled up on the appetizers. The soup was very flavorful and salty. Canned soda was included in our meal. They had 7 Up and Sunkist to choose from. Saw some people who arrived earlier got Pepsi. Felt the meal and wait wasn't worth the lunch of $19.99 price.

I went with my husband around 4pm that day in the thinking of we would get charged for $24.99 per person but it was $19.99 instead. I would give them a call before going just to make sure. It might change anytime soon.

I was lucky enough to snag a same-day reservation at dinner time for a party of five. It gets busy so I always recommend getting a reservation online. Parking is easy. There is a parking structure behind the restaurant. There aren't any big signs pointing to it so keep an eye out for a side street opening into a small parking garage. As always, the soups are very flavorful and the meats are always tender and delicious. They allow you to select two soups per pot and I always get a sukiyaki. I love that it comes with poached raw eggs too. I always get the beefs and they always hit so good. My favorite is the wagyu beef curry. It is soooo good and I always get multiple plates of it. Now, the reason why I gave this place 3/5 stars today is unfortunately due to the service. I usually have such a great time at the other Mo Mo Paradise locations I have been to, but unfortunately I felt extremely rushed during this visit. For the majority of our visit, we had a great time. But when we ordered our third round of meats, we found out that we had missed our "Last Call" time and only had 10 minutes left to sit. Our server had unfortunately forgotten to tell us when our "Last Call" was and did not ask us if we wanted to order anything else. This was so disappointing, since I felt like we had barely ordered any meats at this point. Feels bad, especially considering we spent $250+ for this meal. They did give us ice cream, but during these last 10 minutes, the server kept coming to our table saying - "you only have 7 minutes left... you only have 4 minutes left... etc." I was rushing to eat my ice cream so fast. At one point, the server started clearing our plates and our pots while we were finishing our meal. I remember eating a carrot and the server almost pulled the plate from me as I took a bite :( She said she would come back in a minute... The server seemed to be guilt tripping us a little bit too :// She kept telling us that the next party was waiting for our specific table, but I found that to be weird because the empty table behind us could seat six but they weren't in any rush to finish cleaning that other table for some reason. My friends and I usually come out of Mo Mo Paradise so full and happy, but we just had a sour taste left in our mouth because of they rushing us. We also were unable to eat to our hearts' content :( It was weird, when I left the restaurant there really only seemed to be about five people waiting too... Just not sure what was going on that day but it was Memorial Day weekend... maybe they were understaffed or something... This was a really disappointing experience because of this. I have very high expectations for Mo Mo Paradise and normally this place would get more than 5 stars for me, but it just fell a little short that day.

Another interesting thing happened when we ordered a plate of marinated beef. It looked fancy, arranged in a green and red Tai Chi shape, very beautiful. But when I tried to put it into the pot, I realized the plate only had the decoration but no beef. We told the waiters and they also found it funny. They replaced the plate for us. The restaurant was much brighter than the last time I visited, maybe because they changed the lights. We also had more people with us this time. I guess that is why I felt like giving a higher score. It must have been the better atmosphere.

On the outside it only says "Chong Qing Hot Pot". This place is pretty big actually. When you walk in, there's like a bit of a walk from the entrance to the actual dining area. The inside is also nicely decorated and themed. There are two "bars". One bar has all of your dipping sauces that you can make and it has jar sesame oil. There is another bar on the other side which has things like Sesame balls and other dessert like items. The service here is really good. They come check on you very often. Make sure your soup isn't empty and the food comes really quickly. The quality of the food is pretty good too. The meat is well marbled and the vegetables are pretty fresh. The soup broth I got was the spicy one which is like the traditional hot pot soup with the oil and the bone broth. The bone broth soup is actually really good. It's not bland and the spicy hotpot is actually really spicy. Overall, the experience is really good. Compared to Hai Di Lao to this place, I think this place is a bit better in terms of service and pricing but Hai Di Lao is better is presentation. The bone broth soup at Hai Di Lao is very bland and doesn't taste like anything compared to here. This place also has dessert items like sesame balls which is pretty good. I highly recommend trying this place out. 5/5. The only downfall I would say is the restroom, it just doesn't have good ventilation and smells.

They offer premium and prime options for their AYCE hot pot. Their prime menu was $52.95 and offered 9 different soup bases, 17 meat options, self serve bar filled with veggies, noodles and meat balls, drink stations and ice cream. I got the split pot with sukiyaki and jelly golden chicken broth. The sukiyaki was slightly sweet and full of umami flavor. The jelly golden chicken was flavorful and comforting. You can tell they boil down chicken bones from the chicken fat in the soup. They have 3 meats on the prime menu that were wagyu. All 3 were super tender and required little to no chewing. The abalone were massive and firm yet tender. We got the shrimp paste as well which was flavorful and filled with chunks of shrimp. The veggies were fresh and I enjoyed the variety. My favorites were the crown daisy, spinach, enoki mushrooms and Napa. They even have the sweet potato wide rice noodles that are slimy and chewy. Not a lot of AYCE places have it so it's a rare find. The staff here speaks Mandarin, Cantonese and English so ordering was not an issue. They have a small lot in the back with about a dozen spots which wasn't an issue on the week day.

No wait and attentive service. The veggie bar is well stocked with a variety of options. Ordering was easy, pick level of pricing. Bowl type, Soup base and up to 6 meat at a time. The owner was really nice, she helped us take a pic and also took a pic for the photo wall in the back. I had split sukiayki and the mala spicy soup, both good. I also tried the tonkatsu, it was tasty. Meat took some time to come out but seafood is very fresh. The shrimp and mussel from the premium menu is very fresh. The drinks and ice cream are included. I love thrifty ice cream, with Rite Aid gone, I savor every chance I get to have Coconut Pineapple ice cream. I had the canned Herbal Tea and Milk tea, both are very good. The herbal tea was sweet, almost like dates. I will definitely come back next time I'm in the area.

We ordered the shrimp tempura roll and beef gyoza to start, and wow--both were so flavorful and perfectly prepared. The tempura was light and crispy, and the gyoza had that juicy, savory bite that makes you want to order another round immediately. And I have to call this out specifically: the garlic edamame was hands down the best we've ever had anywhere. Perfectly seasoned, fragrant, and completely addictive--we couldn't stop eating it. For the main event, we went with the spicy miso broth, and it did not disappoint. Rich, bold, and incredibly tasty--especially paired with the selection of meats. We also added ramen noodles, and they tasted unbelievably fresh, honestly like they were made in-house. Such a great touch and totally elevated the whole experience. Service was amazing--attentive, friendly, and made us feel comfortable and well taken care of without being overbearing. You can really tell they care about quality and the overall dining experience. By the way so clean inside and it makes it so cozy clean comfortable not one bit of a mess or clutter open space. If you're in Pasadena and craving shabu shabu, this spot is a must. We'll definitely be back!

FOOD the portion was fairly generous as none of us finished the veggie plate. Rice was good. The meat was fresh, very big pieces, though I wish they cut it a bit thinner which will improve texture. But overall no complaints. We came because of SGV passbook. The freebie we received was very generous. The edamame was a very big plate. We asked the free extra to be extra meat which normally would cost $14, and they were very generous. Super Happy! SERVICE was quick, friendly and attentive. We weren't offered the 2 people menu others mentioned, not sure if it's over. There are signs which say lunch special M-F around $20. We might come back for that!
