The front staff was quite professional and helpful. On this Thanksgiving night, it was especially busy. Other hosts could have been stressed to the point of being curt to hungry customers waiting to eat, but the two I interacted with had patience and an easy tone. this is my new favorite hot-spot place in flushing! as a vegetarian i just recently tried it because despite the name, i learned that they do have a vegetarian menu and pricing option. i believe it is about $4 cheaper per person if your whole party gets the value pot which doesn't include any extra meats besides what is at the buffet bar. they offer 3 vegetarian broths upon request: tomato, mushroom, and mala. i've only ever tried the tomato, but will try the mala at some point. there is a wide variety of veggies, soybean products, and different types of tofu. they also have hot foods which includes fried vegetarian spring rolls which are my favorite! very fresh and taste homemade. for dessert they offer free fresh cut fruit and some small cake slices. there is also a vast sauce bar and free soda fountain as well as other asian drinks. i've been 3 times so far and i've only been able to have the cucumber salad once, but it was the best cucumber salad i've ever had with the perfect balance of sweet and sour. service was good as we were dining with consistent soup refills. atmosphere is lively and it is always busy when i go there with a wait of at least 15 minutes during dinner time. the only thing they're missing is free ice cream or soft serve machine, i think currently ice cream only comes with the VIP menu option. read more

The buffet selection of other varieties for the hot pot is enough to fill your stomach. Soda is included. Dessert selections are poor but again I am not here for the dessert so it doesn't bother me. My daughter and I came for lunch and they had the lunch special (House Special AYCE) for $25.99 rather than the usual $28.99. The other cheaper option does not come with meat. There is unlimited soda. The choices of meat are limited however. There are two cuts of beef, lamb, chicken, pork, and marinated garlic beef. However, there is a whole section of weird cuts of meat like liver, intestines, tripe, fish, etc. There is also all types of meat type balls like cuttlefish, pork, beef, and the like. There is a wide variety of vegetables as well as types of noodles. The broths are flavorful. We had the bone broth. The types of sauces available are also nice. They also had a small section for hot foods like French fries and dumplings. But that is very limited as are the choices for desserts. But we're here to eat meat! The lady in the front was helpful in explaining the menu. They were good at clearing out the plates. The areas where the food are located was clean. We decided to let our hearts decide where to take us and we chanced upon Happy Lamb Hotpot. We were immediately drawn by their All You Can Meat promo for $18.95 per person. I dont usually get my money's worth from AYCE deals but for $18.95, what have we got to lose? IT IS SO WORTH IT. This promo comes with 2 choices of broth. I picked the tomato broth (I loved it! In fact, I had a bowl even before all the meat arrived.) The spicy broth is SPICY so take it easy! The promo comes with unlimited fish, chicken, beef, pork and lamb. My favorite is the beef, seconded by pork. You can also add on a PLATE OF WAGYU BEEF for $2 (if you opted for the All You Can Meat promo). Again, WORTH IT. I can taste the difference between the wagyu beef and the regular beef. Although id also have been fine eating just the regular beef. Our bill ended up being $50 for 2 people (we had add-on noodles, drinks). Not bad at all! I asked if they had cash discount but I'm not sure the waitress heard me right, wouldn't hurt to ask again next time! I figured we can save from credit card fees, most restaurants these days do. Really enjoyed this place! First of all the restaurant interior is super clean and modern, which can't always be said about hot pot places. They have a lot of menu options to choose from and when we went there were weekend specials on lamb and beef for $2 a platter which made the meal overall super affordable as well. I usually go to a hotpot buffet spot nearby which costs $70-80 a person total. So i figured since they all said the food is good here and cheap, i go give it a try. i was expecting 5-6 ppl dinner but end up only my good friend and me. i got there around 8 and he came 835. sigh. lol. but besides me waiting 35 mins and wasting 35 mins of my life lol, i will not be going back here. yes the bill was cheap. we picked the middle option, the one my family picked. the bill was even cheaper, only came out to $75 around with a 20% tip. but the food? very soso. the options wasnt much and the meat was soso. we hardly finished 1 plate of meat. I ate mostly udon noodles and fried tofu and tempura mostly. Thats y every time i go buffet spot i never eat even 1/2 of what the amount should cost. my friend hardly ate anything too. but mostly is because the food was soso. i gave it 3 stars is because it was cheap and the service was pretty good. nice waiters. Anyone that wants cheap and avg buffet hotpot this spot is def for you. but if you want a really good hotpot and seafood too and better quality of meat, this spot isnt for you. but it will cost easily double the price. so it depends what you prefer. It was my first time trying hot pot and although the experience was nice, I realized I'm just not a fan of hot pot. The raw meat mixing with my broth just doesn't sit right with me. At one point in time, this location was the hottest ticket for hot pot in Flushing. This is of course, when they were still Little Sheep, which has since rebranded almost all of their locations to Happy Lamb. Despite the new name, the change in awesomeness has been minimal and their reemergence during the pandemic is really a win for all. More importantly, the food is still great. Their signature broth (aka the house special original marrow broth) is a fan favorite for its herbal rich, flavor packed, and dense body. It is truly a highlight for most hot pot lovers. I personally prefer to do a half/half (yinyang) broth with the spicy marrow the other equally potent yet delicious option. The quality of the ingredients are still quite good. I like the shrimp paste balls and the thinly sliced premium lamb. Adding things a la carte can get pricey real fast, so I would recommend going for a combo set. The fatty beef + seafood + lamb shoulder combos would make for a very tasty variety. I also really appreciate the updated look on the interior of this place. Little Sheep seemed just fine to be before, but this newer contemporary look really makes the place feel completely different from its previous iteration. It's not exactly a high end feel, but the aura is considerably more intimate and makes the place more versatile overall. read more

They don't take reservations for any group smaller than 5. Went on Friday dinner time and it was relatively empty. There's 90 mins seating time but they did not give us a warning/kick us out. We stayed there for more than 90 mins. The place looks clean and well kept. There was like a dish washing machine behind the cash register that ran every so often that was kind of loud. The soup base is not that good. I had better soup bases around Flushing. There's a good amount of choices for the meat. You have to order the meat with the waiter but the rest is pick up from the food area. There's a good selection of fish balls, noodles, seafood, vegetables. The seafood does not look that fresh. I didn't see egg there which is not normal. There is a soda machine for beverages. There's a also a counter to make your sauce, I find their soy sauce to be on the saltier side. If you don't waste food it was only $25 per person for Friday dinner which is very affordable. Their alcohol is definitely cheaper than other restaurants if you want a beer with your dinner. read more

Back when I was living in Oregon, I would always see the Little Sheep Soup Base Packets in grocery stores but never thought to try them out. So, when a couple of friends recommended we go to an actual restaurant to try it - needless to say I was pretty excited for the opportunity and to see if it could really live up to the hype. One of the nicest parts about living in NYC is the choice for hot pot all across the city and I would say that Little Sheep is definitely near the top of my current hot pot list. When you first step in you are greeted by a relatively modern and clean interior. Every seating area is very nice and spacious. I entered last minute with a group of 10 on a Saturday at 6 PM so unfortunately they didn't have any spots for us and our group was forced to be separated. So if you are bringing a large group - make sure to make a reservation ahead of time! Our server was wonderful, he brought us to our table and brought over menus and took those orders quickly. So quickly in fact that right after we returned from selecting our sauces from the sauce station (which was so well organized. As well as included a small selection of pickled veggies, peanuts and oranges available for the taking) the food and broth was already there. We had a total of four people at our table and decided to order the half and half pot of tomato broth and spicy broth. We all had to share one pot because 2 pots are apparently only allowed for five people or more. --The tomato broth was absolutely delicious, flavorful and hearty but just a hint too oily for my taste --I'm not the biggest spicy food eater so I didn't really try the spicy broth, but the little I had wasn't too bad. We also went crazy ordering off the menu - the prices do add up though so make sure to keep an eye on that if you are on a budget! All the ingredients were great and all of the different combo platters were definitely a great deal so make sure to get some of those as well! One of the parts of the restaurant that I'm not entirely sure I appreciate is that they leave all of the ingredients on a little waiter's stand next to your table and it is not very stable and is a hazard waiting to happen. So make sure the accident prone people of your party are far away from that! I've loved the Happy Lamb franchise for years. The Manhattan location is sadly closed post COVID, but I am always willing to take a trip to Flushing to get my fix. They now have both AYCE and a la carte options. AYCE is a good deal, but you do have to order your veggies separately. It includes meat and unlimited noodles for an additional add on fee. The broth and meat quality are the same as I'm used to. Service was also great -- our server always made sure to refill our soup and water. I also love the interior: it's very clean, and each table is in its own booth. It's super spacious, and when I called to make reservations for a weekday evening, they basically told me that there's no way I'd need a reservation, and they were correct. You can pay for the premium option which gives you a selection of both meats and everything off the buffet trays which do offer an impressive array of options as well. Favorite meat option of the night is the garlic butter beef which packed a rich garlic butter taste and is incredibly tender despite being a very large slab of meat. Buffet trays contained a decent assortment of processed fish/seafood balls, veggies, noodles, fish fillets, seafood, mushrooms as well as mushroom balls which was interesting. I've been to a couple Happy Lamb hotpots in the Cambridge/Boston area in MA. This Happy Lamb falls a bit short in comparison to some of its other locations but still an amazing place to get hotpot with family and friends. I'm disappointed this location didn't have the curry soup base which is available at some happy lamb locations! I also feel like they lacked enough noodle options. As for the ambiance, the interior of the restaurant is beautiful and extremely cozy. We came in at 4pm on a Sunday and we were seated relatively quickly. So many Yelpers are saying this place has the best broth so I just had to check it out. They are absolutely right. Thanks to those Yelpers out there for recommending this place. I was impressed with their broth, compared to other places I've tried. These are shared hotpots not individual ones. The menu is a la carte with a nice variety of choices. Decor was modern with lots of wood and clean lines. We ordered beef, lamb, and fish. Everything was very fresh. The beef and lamb were good quality cuts with a nice percentage of fat, just enough to keep the meat, tender. The raw fish was served on ice, decorated with little tiny eatable flowers. A nice little touch. The noodles were very fresh. They had that slightly chewy texture that you only get with fresh noodles. Note: The noodles are very very long. If sharing, you may want to cut them before adding to the broth. The sauce station was a bit small compared to other places that had a bigger selection. Don't forget to check out the squeeze bottles to the far right of the sauce station, for a few more selections. Also by the sauce station on the far left, were fresh orange slices and kimchi. Service was very attentive and polite. I wish I took better photos but I was too hungry. Came here on a Friday evening around 6:30pm. Ordered for two people and may have over ordered but the server was nice to tell us that it was too much. So we removed an order of meat thankfully. The broths were so good and meat quality was amazing. Portion was generous and everything was really fresh. Service was also really great! Everyone was so nice checking up on our meal, clearing empty plates constantly, and just overall a really great experience. Highly recommend this hotpot place in Flushing. I love this place most of the time. The food is self serve and the broth is really nice, however charging 2 dollars for enoki mushrooms now, is absolutely ridiculous. I paid for an all you can eat buffet, however out of everything, enoki mushrooms aren't included? The service is normally pretty nice and okay however the wait time was horrible. I queued up first, they came after and submitted a waitlist number. They had a bigger family and took two tables however they got sat first. I didn't speak mandarin like them and the staff. Feeling very discriminated against and it was a 1 hr wait when they said 45 and when i asked, they brushed me off. Disappointed. Loved this place. read more
